It came early... not only that..... it is brown. What does that mean??

I have read up a few things and one of them says that it could relate to pregnancy! cat_eek
I am rather happy and scared that this could be happening (scared cause of my thyroid issue)

Can you ladies help me out here? I haven't been able to find good links or hard evidence that this could be true.

Help!! cat_gonk

It could very well be just old blood.
I get that time to time.

Quote:
It happens when the blood is older and not being expelled from the body quickly.

Brown discharge can be an early symptom of pregnancy.

Quote:
Implantation bleeding is just one of several typical pregnancy symptoms and happens around the time of implantation. Implantation bleeding is often also called implantation spotting. Implantation bleeding or spotting does not usually look like a regular menstrual period but is scanty and usually a pinkish or brownish discharge. and it usually happens around 6-12 days after ovulation and fertilization, within 1-2 days after arrival of the blastocyst in the uterus, usually around 9 days after ovulation (dpo), with a range of 6-12 days.

Is it a regular flow? Spotting?

It is spotting, and irregular. It's very weird to me.. I mean I have had this before but this was right up when I was on my period or just a couple days before my period. Not one to two weeks before my period.

It never hurts to pick up a test.
Give it a couple days though. Thyroid problems can cause irregular periods.

Oh I have tests just for this kinda thing.
And I do know that thyroids make it irregular ... hmm idk it could deal also with my medication that I am on? The methimezole i take for my thyroid... idk

Either way. I will make sure that I wait as much as I can so that it will be the proper time when I am supposed to take the test.

This. I get it a lot since I went on the Pill. Also, the first day or two my period is so sluggish coming down that the blood has time to react with oxygen and turn brown.

If you're sexually active and not using contraception, then yeah, you could be pregnant. The best way to be sure is a blood test but the better brand-name stick tests are also good.

Ugh, I hate when I hit edit instead of quote. Lmao

I just googled it and didn't see anything about it.
You can also go into the pharmacy at Walmart/Publix/etc and ask them if it would cause it.

Or call your doctor and ask.

you may have had a cyst that burst or something to that effect.

my flow is brown the last few days of my period. I don't know where you're located but we have something called health link where I am, you just call and talk to nurses and they will give you suggestions, or if they think its serious enough they'll put you through to a doctor.
