It all started with a prayer. Eric Villiers is in church for the first time in his life, looking for some sort of answer. As he sits in a pew, he asks God (even though he doesn't really believe in him) to give him a sign. And that's when a girl crashes through the skylight and falls on him. A day later, they are both getting out of the hospital. The girl was diagnosed with amnesia; she has no memory of her life from before, except for her name, Theda, and a feeling that she has to get away from a certain danger. Unsure whether this is his destiny or not, Eric offers to help her out.
