THE EYES:

uuuggghhhh.

okay, so you know those pictures where the eyes follow you and all that? or the pictures when someone's eyes are all wide and the picture makes their eyes look all bright and stuff and they're staring directly at the camera (why people take pictures like that, i dunno).

so yeah, the second one happened today- i was scrolling on my dashboard when this picture showed up:

and i flipped out- pretty much stared at what little of the picture was showing for less than half a second, did that short "holy crap" shout thing, and then scrolled up quickly before covering my face and cracking up in the "scared sh*tless/shocked" laugh people do.

and i woke my little sister up from her nap.

yup, the fourth- maybe i can grab the cd after school? would have to be before cello though. or if i can convince mom to pick it up when she's coming home (yeah, that'll work so well! /sarcasm). that would be amazing! and would be pretty much an amazing day- seeing people again, new music... and new songs on my ipod!

WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE:

i am literally typing up something i will never use:

Four main ones:

Earth

Water

Fire

Air
Sub-elements:

Earth:
1. Metal/steel and all that
2. Precious gems, various stones, etc.

Water:
3. Lunar
4. Ice

Fire:
5. Solar (solar cycle, depends on how cloudy and how visible moon is too.)
6. Lightning/electricity

Air:
1. Winds (generation, enchancement, controlling. Depends on how windy the day is.)
Limitations for all elements:

Their level of power, isn't able to go up or down that much. If they were born with a low level of power, they wouldn't be able to somehow be some uber powerful controller of earth. If they worked hard at it, they may be able to be a little more powerful. The level of power will be referred to as "power level."

There are various drugs that you would be able to take to enhance your powers, but these are pretty much illegal and are restricted to very few positions- if you're in the military and a war was going on, you would be given some. Think of these like performance-enhancing drugs. That being said, they're very valuable on black markets, and are a bit of a symbol of power. They are easy to overdose on, and are in pill form. Power enhancing drugs are most common on lower power level manipulators.

The more your character practices control over their powers, the more powerful they are- if your character has high-level power but no control over them, you really think they're gonna be that useful? Meanwhile, a low-level powered character with high control over their powers- they're probably gonna be more useful in a fight, especially when you add in hand-to-hand combat and weapons.

You'll see the words "don't pull a toph bei fong" or something like that a lot throughout the power explanations. What is a toph bei fong? glad you asked.

Toph bei fong is a character in avatar, who is an earthbender. Long story short, it was long believed that earthbenders couldn't bend metal, and she figured out how to bend metal. Now that we have some background, what I mean by pulling a toph bei fong is your character being an earth manipulator and they figured out how to control metal magically. In this roleplay, earth manipulators are not able to control metals or gemstones. It. Is. Not. Possible. There are similar limitations on the other abilities.

Another example is your character being a gemstone manipulator and they can suddenly make things out of dirt and dirt alone because they figured out how. Gemstone manipulators cannot control the earth, so you would be pulling a toph bei fong.

No toph bei fongs. At all.
Earth:

Controls the earth- ground, rock, all that. Very much like in the avatar series.

Limitations: earth manipulators are unable to use metals, or precious stones/gems.

Seriously- they are not able to. Do not pull a toph bei fong and have your character be able to suddenly control metal and anything they are not able to as specified by the rules of this roleplay.
Metal:

Able to manipulate regular metal, and those considered metals- like tin, iron, copper, aluminum, and lead.

Is not able to control the earth- like ground. If they find some sort of metal in the ground- like if someone dropped something metal and it got buried, they would be able to pull it out of the ground.

Once again, no pulling a toph bei fong.
Precious gems:

Anything that is classified as a jewel or gemstone, these guys are able to use. Jade, amethyst, etc.

See this list if you are making a character with this power set.
Water:

Think katara in avatar. They manipulate water, simple as that.

Like earth manipulators, though, they're not the same as the people in avatar.

They can't control ice. At all- no excuses. They are able to do cool the temperature of water a small amount, but that's as close as they get to manipulating ice. Pull a toph bei fong on this, and you're gonna be in trouble.

It's uncommon for a water manipulator to control freshwater and saltwater- most water manipulators can only control saltwater or freshwater. No toph bei fongs- if your character can only control freshwater, they can't magically start to control saltwater too.
Lunar:

These guys are water manipulators, although their power fluctuates with the moon's lunar cycle, and when the moon is out.

So basically, when it's a new moon, cloudy, and it's daytime, they wouldn't be able to do much. but if it was nighttime, not a cloud in sight, and a full moon, they'd be good to go.

So yes, their power levels fluctuate naturally. But no, they cannot leap from low power levels to magic amazing uber powerfulness. If your character has moderate power levels normally, they would be able to have upper-moderate levels and possibly lower-high power levels on good enough conditions.

Lunar manipulators still do have the freshwater-saltwater limitations. Once again, your character may be able to control both, but keep in mind that most people who have a form of water manipulation are not able to control freshwater and saltwater.

If you find yourself thinking that the moon is also visible during daytime, you're right! It is, and I've already thought of that. Lunar manipulators' power levels are also rising and falling during the daytime with how cloudy it is, and how visible the moon is. If you can see the moon clearly during daytime, you're pretty good. During sunrise and sunset, you can sometimes see the moon. Your powers would also be more powerful than they would be if the moon wasn't visible at all. So if you can see the moon more clearly one minute during the daytime and the next you can't because clouds came around or something, your power level would go down.

Harvest moons and blue moons are also good. Blue moons can amp up powers, along with harvest moons. Harvest moons can amp it up some- if you are low-level powered, you would be able to reach a few medium power levels depending on how low. Blue moons, on the other hand, are powerful. If you are the lowest of the low in power level, you would be up to low, possibly even a middle ground of medium power level.
Ice:

Ice manipulators are able to freeze water, and then control that ice. If it's partially frozen in around the consistency of a slushie except a little more frozen, they would be able to control that, too.

Their power levels do not fluctuate with the moon like Lunar manipulators- they stay put just like water manipulators. They are able to go up a bit with enough determination and practice. Also are able to go up with use of power-enhancing drugs like every type of manipulator.

The colder it is out, the more dangerous ice manipulators are- if it's winter out, ice and snow can be all around you.

If you are planning on making a character with this power set, this is a useful resource.
Fire:

Fire manipulators are your basic set of fire-based powers- fire creation, control, and all that good stuff.

Fire manipulators cannot create lightning and/or electricity. At all. No excuses.

The color of the flame a fire manipulator creates corresponds with how powerful they are. The lower it is, the lighter & more yellow it is. For example, someone who can create a light yellow flame is what would be considered a low power level. Meanwhile, someone who can create a bright red flame would have a high power level.
Solar:

Solar manipulators are fire manipulators. The big difference is that solar manipulators' powers are somewhat controlled by a solar cycle. They are most powerful in the daylight, and least powerful in the nighttime. That being said, they're also influenced by how visible the sun is, the clouds, and all that. If it's raining out, they won't be that powerful- same with snowing. If the sun is completely blocked out, then they're not able to do much of anything.

An example of power fluctuating: it's sunny out, not a cloud in sight. Pleasantly warm, etc. a solar manipulator would be good to go. Now, fast-forward a few hours later, and it's raining. The sun's completely hidden from view. A solar manipulator in this situation would be able to produce a small amount of fire and manipulate it a bit. They couldn't do much more than that.

Solar eclipses are pretty much a solar manipulator's dream- they are pretty darn powerful if it's happening near them.

OTHER STUFF:
first day of school was today, and lunch is the most wonky thing i have seen in a while. seriously. there's two lunches and it's just a giant ball of confusion. overall, today was pretty good. the transfer to orchestra made me drop drawing 1, though. :'D

my english teacher can do all these accents. he did this stereotypical german accent to keep us focused when he was reading off the rules, and he switched them up a bit as he went on. anyways, he switched into the stereotypical angry german man accent with the "ach" sounds all over the place. and it was really funny because he pretended to text and smile at his phone (he was going over rules for electronics) and all that. then he stands up with the most annoyed look on his face and says (still in the very annoyed german man accent here) "Nobody looks down at their crotch and smiles!"
it was hilarious.

also, one of the rules is this:
"yes, we're glad you're in love. but no pda."

and he was going over this rule in a scottish accent (keep in mind that they're all a bit stereotypical), and oh my god. i kid you not, this is what he said:

"and everytime we catch two students making out, we will have two teachers make out. which is even more gross than two of you."
i kid you not, he said that.

and he creeped a few kids (and teachers) out who were running late with his various accents.

and i got bored so i started tinkering around with all the avatar things and came up with a bunch of superpower stuff that w ill never use. seriously, it's just a bunch of stuff like earthbending then a couple subpowers and yadda yadda.

it's fun, but pointless. XD

so you know that album i was talking about in the other stuff section? yeah, that one. all i have to say about it is that it's AMAZING.

anyways, it's amazing and i love it. i think i've played it five times already, most likely a bit more. and then there's two exclusive songs on itunes which i got and i want to strangle spotify until it gives me cha-ching and holy s**t this is really the only album that has gotten to me like this, along with the only band.

okay so. i haven't updated this in a long time, apologies galore for that! i just sort of.. forgot about it with school and all that. i barely passed all my classes, so yay for that! my cello playing has improved greatly, which is always nice.

moving on.


so thursday night, my dad came into to talk to me after my twin and he got into a fight of sorts.

in short, heavily verbal, shouting across the dining room table to one another for at least half an hour about one thing, dissolved into a multitude of things.

she stomped up to her room after they were done.

anyways, we talked about what she had said that concerned me, and other things. eventually, we ended up talking about my brother. (and then about other things, but they're unrelated) and he mentioned that he (brother) thought he was gay. he thought i knew about it, because a.) he's mentioned it to mom, b.) my stepmom apparently found gay porn on the downstairs computer and told dad so c.) dad found out when he told my mom, and d.) apparently he's told helen.

in short, i am the only one my brother has never approached about this. and if i had to guess, most or all of this went down last year.

and i don't know what to think. half of me wants to strangle him and demand an answer as to why he didn't tell me in a bit, and the other half of me wants to wait until he mentions he has a boyfriend (if he ever does- note the "thought he was gay" thing), and then guilt trip him for it. badly.

i don't know. i just don't know. i don't know what to do, and i'm angry as hell right now. i'm still calming down from the stress of school, i'm left to my own devices of worrying about things that are years off, i'm stuck with the realization that i have literally no people close enough to me to go and hang out with over the summer, and i am nowhere near getting close to overcoming my fear of playing the cello solo in a place with people in it unless it's in my cello lessons. and me and my twin's birthday is coming up, which isn't helping.

i don't even know anymore- is my relationship with my family that awkward?

i'm sorry for the unorganized mess, i just don't know what to do and i'm at the end of my rope with a lot of things.
