I got on the depo shot about 6 months ago. (I'm almost due for my 3rd shot)...
I loved the idea. Birth control and not having to remember it? So convenient!
Most people worry about it making them gain weight. I didn't have an issue with that.
So what? I'm 100lbs. A few pounds won't hurt...and I've not even experienced this.
I thought the emotional side effects would wear off...but I'm starting to doubt it.
It's making me crazy emotional. Always upset. Somewhat bipolar. Things like that.
I started researching it and it's super common... it's definitely caused issues in my relationship.
I don't want this to ruin my relationship especially since it's the only reason I'm on it.

I'm making a doctors appointment on Monday so I can tlak about switching birth control.


Has any one else experienced this with depo shot?
What bc would you recommend for a busy teenager?

The Depo Provera Shot is a birth control shot you get every 3 months.
I'm getting an appointment set up tomorrow for asap to get it swapped before my next shot.

Also, this is probably more of a health related topic.
It's for birth control and the effects.

I do to. I'm about to call my doctor now.
I should be switched before my next shot mid-August.
I really don't recommend the depo shot. >.<

Okay. So my appointment was today and the doctor was totally supportive.
I'm switched to Loestrin 24, which is also what my sister is on.
Depo will be completely out of my system in a few months but I'm starting this Sunday.
Hopefulyl it works out better.
