In a land of Averon, unrest is brewing. Two years ago, the king had been assassinated. His wife had long been dead. His three daughters were in disagreement. The eldest ran away when she was framed for his death. The second eldest seized the throne underage and blind under the manipulation of her uncle (the regent). The youngest was distraught at the eldest's flight but copes by disclosing things with her secret lover.

Moreover, The Resistance is growing ever stronger. The runaway princess joined their ranks recently. Will the peasants rise up against the tyrant? Moreover, is there hope or will the regent continue his reign of terror?

The Three von Kurch Princesses

The Runaway Princess
The firstborn and supposed heir to the throne. She was framed of killing her own father and was forced to run away. She lived a blissful life for two years until the Queen's guards killed everyone she loved. She joined The Resistance seeking revenge.

The False Queen
The second daughter. Under the advice of her uncle, she framed her sister to become queen. Since she rarely goes out of the palace and doesn't know what's going on, she's practically a puppet queen of her uncle who is her regent because she is too young to rule by herself.

The Beloved Princess
The youngest of the three, like her older sister, she rarely goes out of the palace and is blissfully unaware of the chaos outside the castle walls. The queen died giving birth to her and that affected her self-image. Right now, she is in love with the young count brought by her uncle to the palace.

The Palace

The Regent
A conniving brother of the queen, his sister gave him the title, Duke of Siegriedton, after she was crowned queen. He thinks the king is the reason his sister died.

The Deceiving Lover
Brought by the regent to manipulate the youngest princess into submission, he does his job well and is in a 'passionate' relationship with the princess.

The Resistance

The Leader
He leads the rebellion and is attracted to the runaway princess.

The Leader's Brother
Co-leads the rebellion and does most of the groundwork.

The Holy Land

The Pope
a relatively young man who inherited his title from his late father. He was raised to be the next pope. He appears perfect on the outside but... He has some personality defects and...

The Pope's Sister
entered into the sisterhood at a young age. She always appears sad and sickly and is always near her brother, of whom she sometimes seems afraid. Their relationship is questionable. [hint, hint.]

The Islands

Three Leaders

_______, _______ and ______ rule the islands together in agreement with one another. They are democratic leaders. The general thinking of their people is to stay away from the other two developed continents.

AVERON
the most civilized of the three continents. It is a collection of states governed under one monarchy with Avon as its capital city. It is reminiscent of 17-19th century Europe in dress and technology.

Avon - the capital city of the Averon Continent. A place of fashion and civilities. It is reminiscent of pre-revolution France.

Wilton - a place where no plant lives. It is a frozen wonderland of hardy people. Its mines are rich with ore and coal.

Achlan - a small and backwards rural area that goes largely unnoticed.

Lasserbachquette (Lass-back) - is only semi-frozen unlike Wilton due to being close to the sea. Fashion and culture rival Avon. The difference is that people here are very religious and still follow Terra Dei.

Rievbront - a land of endless golden fields of wheat and corn. There are few houses and what houses are found are often mansions of the landowners.

Veldyn - the land of fishermen. This state has the best fish. Many people come here to study the arts (music, etc)

Garadesca - a rich, colorful and highly exotic state. It is comparable to Spain. There are many gypsies and traveling troupes that converge here.

Barkus - a land of spooky marshlands and misty paths, scary ghost stories and related folk tales are common and popular here.

Dachion - a long strip of grasslands. It is occupied by farmers, millers and other agricultural peoples. Many scientists, inventors, philosophers and astronomers come from here.

Siegriedton - a state of discipline and harshness. The best engineers come from here. It is a nice place to visit but not to live in. There's a curfew and many restrictions. The people are often hard-faced and rarely smile.

Helevetique - a state known for its pristine beaches. People who live around here tend to dress more scantily (but still decent) than in the rest of Averon as the temperature is very high and the residents are more often than not, at the beach.

Caraleia - a rather small but prosperous port state. Most people here are friendly, happy and religious.

TERRA DEI
the religious continent. It is united under the 'Holy Hand' who dwells in the sacred city, Sanctam City. The provinces are frugal and people live piously but Sanctam is a rich and extravagant capital decorated with gold and glorious statues of saints and angels. It is also called the city of heaven where the rich dwell in luxury and comfort and where, supposedly, 'good people' are sent to be closer to paradise. Recently, there had been chaos in the land of god although it had been suppressed upon the installation of the new pope, the Holy Hand. (*note that this is a made-up religion that exists solely for plot purposes and may have practices different from what we know)

Sanctam City - decorated lavishly and built for comfort and aesthetics. It is known as heaven descended or the land of direct communication with god.

St. Vicente - named after St. Vicente (who plundered the wealth of Averon and lived in luxury, donating only a small portion of his real wealth to Terra Dei), the patron saint of generosity.

St. Harodd - named after St. Harodd (who led great armies to crush his own enemies in the name of God in order to take over and rename the land that is now called Terra Dei), the patron saint of crusaders.

Angelorum - a rural land that produces the food of Terra Dei. There are often stories of angels coming down that are told here as they believe the province is beloved and protected by the angels of God.

Beatriz-et-Saints - Beatriz was never canonized (because she was Vikoan) but she was good and pious and healed and helped many people while she lived. After much heated debate in the council of God, they allowed a province to be named after her granted that saints are mentioned.

St. Racquel - named after St. Racquel (a truly good woman who healed many believers and non-believers alike. She did miraculous things until the day she died for the sake of her faith), patron saint of devotees.

St. Geraldine - named after St. Geraldine (gold digger extraordinaire and mistress to Harodd) who is the patron saint of chastity

desolatum civitatem - the forsaken land. Land of all those who have sinned beyond the mercy of god.

VIKOIE
a land of vast tropical rain forests and plenty of wild life. Trees here grow huge and make for great woodworking resources. The people have tanned skin and wear lightweight, comfortable materials suitable for the warm weather. Most Vikoans keep to the conservative Vikoan traditions although many have taken on the religion of Terra Dei and incorporated it into their daily lives. On a side note, Vikoie was once conquered and ruled as a protectorate by Terra Dei, bringing on a hundred years of resource exploitation before the three leaders led a revolution and claimed Vikoie for the Vikoans.

Vikoy - the capital city of Vikoie. The three heads control the islands from here. Trade and industry is very high here although many things are still done traditionally. Many residents flock here and social status is valued. Only few influences from the other two continents can be seen other than religion.

Dansariya - a land of beautiful youths, plentiful spices and exotic nature. They hold festivals that are colorful and brightly-themed. They do not believe in the Terra Deian god.

Kiraie - a land of very conservative islanders who call themselves 'true Vikoans'. They have kept the same traditions as before and remain unaffected by the other two continents or the discoveries there.

(Religious Deian Triple)

Raya - contains the largest library in all of the known world about medicine and religion.

Deist - holds a large shrine dedicated to the Terra Deian god.

Haken - an organized and closed-off island. Nuns, monks and priests live in peace here. They come to study their faith and live separate from the temptations of society.

Yuma - an island where animals are an integral part of society. Animal 'totems' mark each individual uniquely as a pendant. The wildlife here is very high and the people live as one with nature. They do not worship the Terra Deian god but nature spirits as their ancestors did before them.

Banek - a quaint little fishing village is located on this island. People are a little xenophobic and hold tradition as well as community role in high regard as they seem to employ a sort of caste system.
