So. My university has a nature trail. It frequently gets closed down for one reason or another. It's usually stupid crap.
But last week, it was closed because they had to investigate and then retrieve bones that were "potentially human."
Annnnd apparently, they now know that the bones are from this guy who went missing earlier this year. His car was found abandoned near the parking lot next to the trail, and the nature trail was actually closed for around four days as search teams look through the trail. They just never found him then.
So we had a dead guy in our nature trail, and no one knows why.

That, is actually really terrifying. . .
The school I just transferred from (because the bastards took away the department I was studying in) would send out text alerts to the students if there were any police reports concerning students. I got one the other night that woke me up at 2am saying that was an attempted rape in one of the parking lots. A few hours later another message was sent out saying there was no threat. A lot of the messages are just drunk kids being stupid. And I can't figure out how to disable it because I no longer live there. stressed
But nothing as bad as a dead body at the nature trail. That's more than creepy. Someone did get shot and tried to say that it was a drive by shooting, but it was just drunk kids with a gun and didn't want to get in trouble. rolleyes
Do you know how he died?

@Chained If anyone knows how he died, they haven't mentioned it yet. I mean, the circumstances of his disappearance was a bit weird anyway. He left like his phone and keys and other stuff at his house. He was found like 25 feet from the trail through like a giant brush, so idk.
@Roarie I feel more sorry for the poor dude. I actually have never went on the nature trail in the entire time I've been here. xD
@Kemu Yeah. Even here they don't advise people to walk on the nature trail at night.
@Bijou Maybe?

That's kinda like the time they found a dead homeless person right next to the bike trail I always rode on. I probably rode right past them. D:
But bones? Wow... how fast do bodies decompose to bones? I guess if he was out in the open it would happen quicker. But then, you'd think they'd have found him earlier.

Well, the amount of bugs aiding in the decomposition and the general humidity would speed things along. Did you know they actually have "Body Farms" to test these things? They get cadavers and put them in different settings to watch their rates of decomposition. . .

@Szen What is it about trails? D:
What Chained said. Additionally, we have some various animals around there. I'm not really sure if deer and such eat meat though. I should probably know this s**t.
