Werewolf Basics and Information

User Image

Basic Information

A werewolf is a human being who, upon the complete rising of the full moon, turns into a fearsome and deadly near-wolf. Werewolves can be easily distinguished from regular wolves by several small distinguishing characteristics, such as the pupils of the eyes, the snout shape, and the tufted tail. At all other times, they appear as normal humans, though will often seem to be ill as the full moon approaches. This condition is caused by infection with lycanthropy, usually occurring when a human is bitten by a transformed werewolf.

Werewolf Rules and Guidelines

+ Must transform every Full Moon
+ Must go to the Forbidden Forest before transforming so as not to harm any other human
+ Must not bite or change any other human without their consent first (PMs or OOC) and a plot request submitted.
+ Must take Wolfsbane Potion to ease the transformation
+ Must become registered by the Ministry of Magic.
+ Must be changed by a werewolf alpha
+ Have enhanced senses of smell and hearing outside of their transformation, but otherwise are completely human
+ Can be students, teachers, or shopowners, however, they are usually discriminated against and must request a MTA spot
+ Can posess a wand unlike most other magical beings
+ Can breed with wizards, however, their lycanthropy cannot be passed to their children
+ Any and all pre-existing werewolves must be discussed with Diamond Wales.
+ Full moons do not need to be roleplayed out every time one rolls around.
+ Cannot be turned before they are in their third year/their thirteenth birthday unless given permission by Diamond Wales.
+ When a werewolf bites someone in their human form, they gain wolfish tendencies but are not considered a werewolf. This action does require a plot request. Wolfish tendencies include a predilection toward raw meat, a tendency to be loyal, and have more of a need to be social than most other people.
+ Can never be cured of their affliction

Pack Information and Basics

User Image

Basic Information

Amongst werewolves, their inner nature tends to form packs along the lines of regular wolves. They are usually formed by the one that infects the rest, though some are older and have had several leader changes. The leader is commonly referred to as the Alpha.

The Alphas in a pack are the only ones allowed to turn other werewolves. They alone are the ones allowed to decide who may or may not join in a pack, and anyone turned are then taught the ways by the entire pack. When a werewolf is considered to be mature enough for the responsibility, the Alpha lets them off into the world to form their own pack.

Generally the pack follows a set of rules outlined by the pack Alpha. These rules are taught to each new member of the pack that joins.

If a werewolf decides to leave his pack for any reason besides being allowed to form a pack, they are considered an Omega. Omegas are generally looked down upon in werewolf society. They may join another pack, but they must always start on the very bottom of it.

Before forming a new pack, any werewolf that has been chosen to do so is considered a Beta. Betas are considered to be 'on the hunt'. They may decide to take over an exsisting pack by challenging the Alpha of that pack, or they may take in any werewolves that are considered Omegas to form their own pack.

Unlike Vampires, werewolves do not have a central authority. Each Alpha must report to Werewolf Support Services in the Ministry of Magic regarding their pack size, movement, and members. They also must report any Betas and Omegas that have been released and cooperate with Ministry officials regarding regulations.

Werewolves created outside of a pack or by members not Alphas are always considered Omegas.

Profile Updating

In order to become a werewolf, you must be turned. The only exceptions to this rule is the starter werewolf, Jason Hill.

You must keep in mind that you will either choose to be a werewolf as well as a student/professor/Hogsmeade shop owner/working adult witch/wizard, or give up the life of a student/professor/Hogsmeade shop owner/working adult witch/wizard. It is not an easy choice and it is a huge decision to make.

If you decide to continue being a student/professor/Hogsmeade shop owner/working adult witch/wizard...
All the luck to you, mate! It won't be easy. You have to ensure that every time you transform, you do it while under the effects of a Wolfsbane potion. You must also ensure that you follow your Alpha, obey pack rule, and do what is asked by your pack. You must request a More-Than-Average slot.

This means that you will be adding info to your existing character and requesting an MTA slot. You will not need to make a new profile in Magical Creatures subforum.

If you decide to live the life of a werewolf...
You will still have responsibilities required of you by the werewolf who turned you until you can prove to be capable on your own. There is also the pack to keep in mind. Once you're on your own two feet without the pack assisting you, you can choose to do whatever you want (as long as it doesn't break pack code) or even make a new pack of your own.

This means that you will be making a new profile in Magical Creatures subforum.

If you are for sure a changed werewolf, add this in your profile right underneath gender:
I am a werewolf, turned by (Who turned you? What pack are they? e.g. Jason Hill of the Aconite Pack)

The pack I belong to is (What pack do you belong to? This can change during roleplay, so make sure you keep this up to date)
