T^T If you wouldn't mind, it would be great if you could direct TinierMe peeps who haven't already visited over here so we can get started on another great community!

Gaia Gold is the common currency in Gaia, used to buy items sold by Gold Shops and on the Marketplace
The currency system on Gaia is far less restrictive than the TinierMe one -- basically anything that can be bought with Gaia Cash (the one you pay $$ for) can be found on the Marketplace for gold. This may seem like a good way to make gold fast if you're a $$ user, but many items deflate quickly after their release, so check the marketplace before you buy! yum_puddi
Making gold without spending $$ is as easy as browsing the site! However, posting and playing games don't garner as much gold as other tactics, like these:

gaia_gaiagold Playing games! (not the Facebook-linked ones like Resort World, Monster Galaxy, Soul Crash, Heralds of Chaos) Most Gaia games (casino games, Word Bump, Jigsaw, etc) will not give you gold directly, but tickets/credits/etc that you can exchange for items in the corresponding shops. You can sell these on the Marketplace for gold, but they're usually not worth it unless you obtain thousands of those tickets/credits. =w=;
The biggest gold-netting game on Gaia is ZOMG - their MMORPG-style game! It's pretty fun and addicting, and you get gold just by having fun, experiencing the story, and teaming up with other players!

And, and...!! You can play to the end-boss of the game and battle through an underwater secret lab and get cool items! @^@
gaia_gaiagold Playing Booty Grab in other users' tanks to earn several hundred gold at least (tanks will glow when you can play). You just move your avatar around with the arrow keys and catch gold coins in your shell while going for green powerups and avoiding red ones!
gaia_gaiagold Vending in the Exchange or Marketplace, although this isn't suggested unless you actually know how - the trade secret is supposedly given to those in vending guilds. @.o (I've never done this eek )
gaia_gaiagold Earning gold by starting an art shop! This method often takes quite a bit of work to set up a pretty shop front and attract buyers, but if you like you can try your luck in big-winning art contests or even writing shops and writing contests! gaia_gaiagold After collecting bugs/flowers/trash in Towns or playing zOMG, you can:
Exchange your trash for wearables
Exchange your bugs for inks
Exchange your flowers for wearable bouquets
Exchange your zOMG drops for wearables if you have the recipe
You can sell anything on the marketplace as well, but you can use your inks for making tattoos (which you can buy on the marketplace).
Also, during holiday/special events, there's a chance to collect a Wing Sticker every day, so you can exchange those at the Tree House for nifty items! If you want a hand at making your own items, try Cross Stitch, which periodically holds contests for Gaians to make their own items! All items in that shop are user-made!
