The weather was calm and mild, the air still fragrant from the summer blooms, the morning her mother was finally laid to rest. It was as if even the birds were showing respect for the loss of her mother with an eerie silence. Not even a whisper of wind swept through the tall grasses. No crickets chirping in the hazy last hours of light signaling twilight. The twinkling of night’s first stars left her mind wandering back to the time before her mother’s illness, to her youth as a student.
Years had passed since she graduated from the academy and yet she hadn’t even thought to practice, to even go on a single mission. It would have required her to leave home, something she hadn't even passed through her head as being possible. Her mother had required so much care in the end that Cam felt like she had become the mother tending to an ill child. Her time as her mother’s personal caretaker, however, had given her the ability to study and read about the things she would've otherwise been doing.
A dull ache filled her chest each time she thought about her jutsu that she had thus far been letting lay dormant. Her Father had been an accomplished Medical Nin and it was her aspiration to follow in his steps. She just needed to take the first leap of faith. She had to go back to the main village and find a team, she needed to train. She only hoped it wasn't too late.
