[Instability Portal] Seen this movie (Rikki and Ami)

Of course Danny had run off. She always runs off, and Rikki always has to find her cause he's a fabulous boilfriend worried for her safety. Well, mostly he just didn't want her to get lost and then yell at him for not finding her. That would suck.

He thought he saw her go in the direction of the Haunted House, which was even worse because only bad things were ever associated with the Haunted House. He ducked into the dilapidated building and surveyed his surroundings. He didn't see any glow of flames or hear Danny's giggles, which were the usual signs. "Danny?"

Who the ******** was Danny and why did someone keep calling for her?

Ami crept through the haunted house, passing through corridors. She was here for follow up insanity research, but it seemed as though there was someone else with her. It didn't sound like anyone she knew, but then, Ami didn't know the majority of hunters. Rather, she didn't care to know them. Ami didn't make friends.

She peeked around a corner and saw him. At first he didn't look like much, just a strange asian boy with weird tattoos wandering around in a place he shouldn't have been. Then she realized he was one of them. No white coat denoting he was an ally, and deep black sclera that gave away his inhumaness.

Ami thought about just running away, leaving the battle aside, but a deep frown creased across her face. It was her job to eradicate these things, and Rikki was no exception. So she came around the corner, guns pointed at his face. A warning shot went over his head. Well it wasn't really a warning when she had intended for it to go straight through his head. No words, no battle cries, just bullets.

Rikki gave a cry. Not a battle cry, and not exactly a word. More like a "wuahahuuuuah" sort of cry signalling his distaste at being jacking shot at. He ducked as the shot went overhead, eyes wide and panicked as he remembered exactly what bullets felt like. He felt tremors start and summoned his weapon like a security blanket.

It was obviously a hunter, or at least he was pretty sure it was. Those coats were becoming unmistakable. "Whoa there. Slow your roll, darklin'. I'm just trying to find my ghoulfriend." If his voice shook a little as he faced down the guns, he wasn't going to berate himself for it.

"I don't care," Ami said heartlessly. She really didn't. He could have been looking for his entire family and his lover and Ami wouldn't have cared. It wasn't her problem, and neither was Rikki's wellbeing.

She fired another shot, but this time the bullet completely missed as her arm was jerked sideways. Yet another portal was sucking her into its black vortex, tendrils of insanity taking her captive.

A blinding light filled her eyes, and she found herself back at the famous wizarding school. She only hoped this time there wouldn't be a-

A noise sounded from down the hallway. Oh not again! She just wanted time to explore her beloved Hogwarts, she didn't want to mess with more three headed dogs! She sighed and found herself a spot behind a door. There was a lone boy wandering in the hall, but she held her tongue. Help him, or not?

Rikki flinched as she squeezed the trigger again, but had not time to be shocked that she'd missed as he was dragged sideways into the clutches of.. was that a portal? He was blinded by a white light and shielded his face against it.

After a moment he peeked over the top of his arms to see that the light was gone and he was in an old building with old corridors and old looking paintings. Everything was so... old. He wasn't wearing his usually clothing, and the cloak that had replaced it was heavy and not particularly comfortable. It was way more difficult to move in a cloak that it looked.

He twisted his head around as he heard a noise and choked on his surprise as he spotted a three-headed canine. A hell hound, maybe? "No natural forms on campus!" He shouted, waving the stick in his hand in distress. How the hell had they gotten away with walking around without their pin?

Ami bit her lip, watching the strange boy scream at the enormous dog. Something about "natural forms"? Maybe it was a Hogwarts rule, Ami didn't know. She certainly didn't know this boy either, whoever he was.

The beast was inches away from snapping off the boy's head, and as much as Ami didn't want to care, even she wasn't heartless. She couldn't leave him to die in good conscience when she knew there was a way to save him.

After a few more indecisive moments, she bolted into the corridor, grabbed the boy's wrist and kept running. Ohhh this was stupid of her. She was a Ravenclaw, not a gryffindor! She kept running, hoping that the beast would lose interest, but she could steal feel its hot breath and stinking drool on her backside reminding her that no, he was still here.

"ALOHOMORA," Ami screamed, pointing her wand at a door, which instantly flung open. She pulled Rikki inside and slammed the door shut.

She looked at Rikki and gave him a Hermione-esque glare. "You are a complete idiot!" Nevermind that the cerberus had found itself another way around and was now staring at them behind her. "You don't just approach monsters, you stupid idiot! If I hadn't been there-"

Rikki startled as a ghoul jumped out and dragged him down the corridor, shouting something as she went. Well, she was some kind of reaper. Witch, maybe. She had the witch look for sure. He leaned bodily against the door as it shut, just for security's sake, and frowned as she immediately began lecturing him. "A bunch of my friends are monsters. Hard to make friends if you don't approach them." Seriously. What century were they in and she had a prejudice against monsters?

"You're a witch, right? What's alo-her-momma?"

HP: 32/40

He peered around, more eager to avoid the rest of whatever lecture was coming than to really determine what their new surroundings were. They were in a small room, though, older and grosser than the previous room had been. There was nothing here to really see but some impressive mold.

Ignoring the ghoul he turned back to the door and opened it just a crack, startled momentarily by how close the dog was. He forced himself to look past that, though, very quickly. When he snapped the door shut again, he gave his new pal an uncomfortable glance, skin going pale.

"So. There's a door behind the dog."

He couldn't see another way around the one door. There was this room, but no where else to go, and he wouldn't just sit trapped in this room forever. He had to get out and find a way back to his dorm or something. Hopefully when he got there, Danny would have wandered back and he wouldn't have to search anymore.

"I'm going to run for it," he let the ghoul know. He watched her face for a moment, wondered if he should offer to stay with her, and realized that even if she wanted him to, he wouldn't. Better to just go. He braced a hand on the door, took a deep breath, and swung it open.

The first thing he tried to do when his feet got moving was shadow step. Another two steps and he realized he couldn't feel his fear right, and he wasn't moving into the shadows at all. Which was going to make this significantly more dangerous. He was fast approaching the dog and it was snapping it's teeth, but he could see the trap door just a few feet behind it. He took three more long strides and then dropped to the floor like Danny had shown him on the maceball field just a few weeks ago. He slid past the cerberus-hellhound-thing and laughed victoriously as he felt teeth snap by his shoulder and only catch air.

After that it was just a matter of scrambling through the trapdoor before it figured out how to turn around. Easy as pumpkin pie.

A door behind the dog? Of course there was. This was Harry Potter and the Sorceror's, so of course. They had to get down to it, so they could go through the vines ...

Her imagination had taken her elsewhere, and for a moment Ami had completely forgotten Rikki or the dog was even there. "Huh? Oh. Yes, yes of course I am a witch." Lying? Oh well.

He left her! The strange tattooed boy had COMPLETELY ditched her. She huffed, angry at this turn of events. A real man would've defended her, not just run off. Trust a gryffindor to run brashly in the face of danger.

She rolled her eyes, looking around the room for something to distract the dog with. She needed an instrument, something to play music with. Books, chairs, windows- nothing meriting an instrument.

Panic. What if she couldn't find anything? What if this dog gobbled her up? She didn't want to die like this!

The axis! Of course! Ami fumbled for her belt under her cloak, but didn't find her normal clothes. Just the school uniform. The basic grey sweater, blue tie and black skirt. She looked so juvenile in this outfit that Ami almost gagged a little.

Worse yet was that the axis was nowhere to be found. Her special artifact was missing, and she was s**t out of luck for any way to distract this beast, let alone defeat him.

Things were quickly going from bad to worse. She narrowly dodged a swipe of the dog's paw, which made quick work of a stack of vases behind her. Glass crunched and broke beneath the dog's feet, giving her a moment to run away. It whimpered as she ran, trying to lick itself clean of the clay shards.

Wait, she had an idea.

As the dog recovered, she baited it to a whole pile of pots, vases and extra glass things. The three-headed beast quickly barreled into it, absolutely covering itself in glass. The wounded thing was licking its wounds, earning her enough time to slip down the trapdoor.

Rikki landed on the other side of the trapped door facing... a giant game board? He walked towards it, a little unsettled by the sheer size of it. As he stepped onto the checkered floor, one of the pieces moved and walked away. Gargoyles? Weeping Angels? Living statues? He had never seen many stone monsters, but he knew there must be a thousand types.

He supposed he was supposed to take up the empty spot, so he slid carefully into the place, frowning all the other players.

Rikki didn't get a chance to really figure out how to play. He stepped forward once, and suddenly everything was over. A piece from the other side moved towards him and before Rikki could react, a stone sword was being thrust into his chest.

He choked out a shocked groan, and then it all went black.

Ami found herself on the chess board. The boy quickly got himself killed.

Well he had it coming.
