I'd like to see it. Not super excited about it though. Probably going to see it next weekend or something. I don't like crowded movie theaters.

See, I loved the Hobbit, but I couldn't get into the trilogy. I tried, but I couldn't.

I probably wouldn't have hated the book so much if it hadn't been my summer reading book going into 8th grade. But I can't bring myself to give it another try. >> (and I've never wanted to read the trilogy because of how boring I thought The Hobbit was.)

Undecidability I probably wouldn't have hated the book so much if it hadn't been my summer reading book going into 8th grade. But I can't bring myself to give it another try. >> (and I've never wanted to read the trilogy because of how boring I thought The Hobbit was.) Okay I'ma warn you right now: If you thought The Hobbit was a boring read? Stay the HELL away from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Hobbit was written with the intent to be read by children (yes, really) whereas the trilogy was not. And J.R.R. Tolkien's style of writing is...... "academic" I guess you could call it... I remember making the mistake of trying to read the trilogy while sick. I had brought the first book with me while I was waiting in the campus walk-in clinic and...... bluh I couldn't read it. It was all about so-and-so's second cousin twice removed's sister-in-law's uncle or some s**t. But that's just how he writes. Once you get past that s**t, it's way better, but you have to slog through that first until you get to the meat of the story.
Also, I would like to see the movie, but I'm not pissing my pants over it like a lot of people seem to be... It's okay, gurl. Ain't nuthin' wrong with not wanting to see it. 3nodding

I enjoy watching Peter Jackson's Tolkein adaptations because they're visually engaging, but I've never much cared about the story. I don't think Tolkein is a very good writer, and I have very little interest in fantasy as a genre.
