Vanya stepped into the gym and glanced around. For the time being it was empty and she was glad. She didn't like training with an audience; it was the one thing she was modest about. The harpy wasn't entirely sure why she was modest; perhaps it was because showing someone your techniques could lead to being taken advantage of in the event of a fight. Or perhaps she just wasn't as confident in her fighting skills as much as she was other aspects of herself. Shaking her head, she ruffled her feathers and stepped towards the dummy. Her claws grew to their maximum length and she took a stance that was similar to one she would use in dancing - however, this one was defensive rather than open.

Powerful legs tensed and she launched herself at the dummy in a leap that ended in a spin of hair and feathers, her claws landing a strike across the dummy's middle. She landed almost silently and effortlessly turned her body over, flipping back and away from the dummy. The claws on her left hand shortened some and she reached up to fix the strands of hair that were now out of place as well as pulling out a few bent down feathers from her wings. Returning to her starting stance once more, she launched another attack at the dummy, this time landing a kick and using the force of impact to push herself backwards and away. Landing, she took the stance again and prepared to attack the dummy once more.

The gym was - and still remained - a both loved and hated area for one Sparrow Heartreed. Perhaps because he was so very abysmal at fighting properly (he wielded a beautiful, powerful scythe and still he had trouble holding his own against anyone), that he often found himself heading back towards it, in the hopes that maybe some day he would be able to prove himself a better man and a better fighter.

Maybe one day.

When he arrived at the gym, it was to find it partially occupied already. There was a ghoul there, one he did not recognize, her body tense and already ready for battle. Her gaze was fierce, her eyes filled with determination, and Sparrow watched her curiously, a small smile on his face.

"You seem very capable," he said, stepping towards her. "It's very impressive, I must say."
