Why do old people start weird conversations?

I really hate stocking the condiments section at work because sometimes it is just me with an old guy and they sometimes start weird conversations with me or ask me weird questions. Like today I was stocking them and this guy came up to me getting his stuff and asked "you don't have anything to do when you get home do you?"

Um what? That's your business in way?

And you don't have decent eyeglasses to go through the drive through do you?

Gosh!

Like ugh! So annoying.

I would answer. No, I really have plans with friends. What are you doing when you get home ? Looks like you'll have a good dinner from the looks of the food you got !! Have agreat day !!

Kind of impossible to do that because one of my managers came up behind me right when he was talking and told me to do something else in the kitchen. So I had two people talking to me at once and didn't know who to pay attention to.
