[Deity Banner]

These are a special type of Pae'il that exist outside the perimeters of the normal Meta-plot and setting. They were created, initially, as a means to reward staff and players for contributions to the shop. They have evolved to become key NPCs that help facilitate our holiday events and provide an occasional humorous break from the serious drama of our metaplot.

They can play in our plot, if they like, but they're not required. They are also not allowed to meddle in the affairs of mortals if it will change the course of destiny.

What is a Pae'il Deity?

A Pae'il Deity is a special type of Pae based on existing human deity. For simplicity's sake, it is basically a cosplay of important ancient religious figures. It is not the god or goddess, but a Pae'il version of it that exists on Telrunya for unknown reasons.

They originally came to being as a means to goof off outside of our serious metaplot and play with OP characters. They evolved to become NPCs that we use for facilitating our holiday events and special themed events (mainly Valentine's Day and Faunapalooza).

Deity Facts:
  • They can create their own cults and temples. Venus has already done so.
  • Not all Deity are the same.
  • Not everyone can get a Deity. Because of their nature, purpose and OP-ness, they will only go to people who have contributed to the shop, plot and are good sports and follow the shop rules.
  • Most Deity will be NPCs and are used for side-plots associated with Valentine's Day.
  • They are not available as customs.
  • They are based on any Deity from any culture. Currently we have a lot of Greco-roman, because they are popular and most well-known but they can come from anywhere.
  • Erotes are part of Venus' retinue and are not considered proper Deity, even if they carry the "God" title. They are still considered IPCs and can be rehomed if left inactive during Valentine's Day.
  • Deity cannot be added to any Pae conglomerate family via adoption or any means. They have their own family and their own alliances. If you do not like this rule or agree to it, you should not be playing a deity.

Where Do They Live?

There are two locations Deity can reside, each with it's own restrictions. When assigned to play a Deity, we will let you know on which island they live.

The first island is Dolandor. Venus and her retinue live here. Many unrelated Deity also have their own estate in this island paradise. Mortals are not allowed on this island, and they will never be able to find it should they pursue, as the island is shrouded in mist. Venus rules this realm.
Dolandor is very bright and fresh. The water flows crystal clear, the birds sing sweetly, and the lawns are all expertly manicured by a small group of cherubs. It is paradise.

The second hidden island is Avernus. This is also known as the Underworld. It is not Tainted nor associated with Telrunya's Corrupted Taint from Dragnid Tower. The Underworld is the Deity spirit realm. Persephone rules this realm.
Avernus is a very dreary and musty place. The air is harsh and heavy and smells of death. The landscape is very rough and rocky. It is cold and the land is barren. Persephone's minions are flying monkeys who torment all those that come to Avernus. If a pae ends up on this island, not only do they die, but their soul is forever trapped in torment.

Deity are from one island or the other. Deity from Dolandor will become damned and be unable to leave Avernus if they set foot on the soil. Deity from Avernus simply cannot enter Dolandor.

Some Deity are clever enough to have temples built on the main island where they can visit and host parties. Venus did this the first year she was on Telrunya and all the Valentine's Day parties take place in the plush temple her followers built for her. This temple is simply known as the Temple of Venus.
Update: The temple was left in ruins during the Battle of Venus Temple, but the altars still work to summon the deity.

Any player who receives a Deity is allowed to have a temple on the island.

PLEASE NOTE: Deity cannot live on Telrunya. They must live on Dolandar or Avernus, otherwise they sacrifice their deity status and powers. If its a deity that is important to Valentine's Day, failure to abide by this rule can result in having your deity rehomed. It is important for players of the deity to follow directions because they were created and given out for a very specific purpose. If you want a rare pae to fling around as you please, I beg you to just get a custom and leave the IPC/NPC deity to those who know how to read and follow directions.

Powers

Deity Pae'il are not omnipotent gods. They are simply Pae'il with some extra powers and abilities that normal Pae'il would never be able to possess. The do not know anything of the Guardians and pointedly ignore them. They know nothing of the spiritual beliefs of the Elemental Pae and don't really care. (well, most don't. Artemis is respectful of their culture.)

Deity can work with the Pae, or they can work for themselves. It depends on their nature and who they are based on.

We will always assign the power to the Deity unless the player can develop a well-rounded plan for the powers, which include limits and fair uses. Powers will never be random, and always be related to the assigned themes of the deity.

All Deity have the ability to appear anywhere, at any time and can observe unseen and unheard. They can freely travel between the mortal realm and their home realm of Dolandar.

All First Generation Deity have the power to control their offspring and blood line by nullifying their powers. They also have the ablity to grant additional powers to their offspring, subject to RP Moderator approval.

Breeding

Deity are allowed to breed with whomever they want, and they have zero obligation to the offspring or babymamma. Just like ancient Deity.

Second-generation Deity Pae'il are referred to as demi-gods or demi-goddesses. They will take after their non-Deity parent, however have fluffy, feathery wings despite the Pae'il type. They will also have an aura that affects those around them, which is will be a significantly toned down version of their Deity parent's primary ability.

Demi-gods can go to Dolandor when they are Adults only if invited by their Deity parent. Otherwise, they can't find it.

Deity cannot be gotten by any means other than gifted by Antidia. They are a special, rare breed of Pae'il and not everyone will get one, because they're only made when there's a purpose via holiday or plot. Once in a while, Antidia will gift a Deity to someone who is friendly, helpful and enthusiastic and an all around good sport and reliable RPer.

At any time, a new Deity can show up if it will enhance the story or event. The player will be determined by the purpose and role of the Deity, and ones with certain OP (over-powered) abilities will remain as NPCs unless a trusted RPer is interested. (Trusted RPer=someone who RPs when the character is required and does not disappear, and will not power-play, nor disregard our shop rules regarding IPCs. All Deity must live on Dolandor, and cannot become part of any players Pae'il extended family by adopting or being adopted by a bunch of regular "mortal" Pae'il.)
