So, I'm not sure if you guys have been hearing about the petition to cease funding to Wycliffe Bible Translators. The issue revolses around the translation of "Son of God" in various Middle Eastern languages.
Here is the petition and reasoning. Here is the response form Wycliffe.

Important notes:
1. Meaning vs. wording
2. This is happening in a very select group of languages. Not all Muslim groups.
3. Who is auditing the translation work?
4. All related projects are on hold until the audit is completed.

Please read both links before commenting, thanks.

(I'm going to try to stay out of the debate for a while, because languages are a passion of mine. That passion can sometimes translate into passionate argumentativeness, so I need to keep myself in check.)
