Harveer had been forcing himself along. The air was filled with far too much tension, it was making it even more difficult for the angel to concentrate on something other than the despair, the fear, the rather large desire to get his rump out of this place. He exhaled slowly, listening to the females talk. They were right.

The pale blue angel furrowed his brow, looking around. He didn't see anything at first. He'd tagged along after Genesis for a moment. It wasn't until she'd spoken again that Harveer realized he was overlooking it. He really hadn't wanted to look in the first place. Right? Guardians be with them.

"No idea." He responded, looking from the glowing to the brown angel next to him. "Lets get closer..." He suggested, starting towards it.

Ignatius was in utter disbelief.

A dragon.

Were this faerie and Earthmother seriously trying to scare him off with a dragon?

That was, quite possibly, one of the most ridiculous things the shetani had ever heard--and he had heard a lot of ridiculous things, considering he lived with Mikasi and Magnus. Dragons did not actually exist. Everyone knew that except for babies, and even they grew out of it fast when they realized that the stories were, indeed, just fantasy tales of times that had never been and likely would never be.

The whole thing smelled funny, and that wasn't just from the fact they were in the forest. To be honest, he wasn't sure if he believed either for a moment. And, furthermore, he refused to believe a teenage faerie was more powerful than one of the most powerful faun. It didn't add up, and while some might have been willing to let it go, Ignatius was furthest from it. They were hiding something, and he knew it. Maybe that had pulled the wool over some other eyes, but certainly not over his own.

Ignatius opened his mouth to say something, but ... quickly shut it when the golden fae started speaking.

... W-what?

Who were these people she was talking about that no one else seemed to know?

And where did the teenagers come from? Why were there so many teenagers in the woods? Was this where they all hid to suck lips?

While Ignatius attempted to figure out what exactly was going on, the new demonic arrival watched carefully, curious to see what the golden fae would say. Her response alarmed him just a tad, but he did his best to keep it off his face, skill at lying making it easier as much as the sides of his lips continued to twitch. How did she know about the knights?

Nephi shot a brief glance in Eligor's direction, jerking his head towards the fae. He was intending to imply that, perhaps, she might have known of them. At the same time, did she? What were Knights? Did she just mean the Knights that were in fairy tales, or whatever the faeries thought knights were, or did she legitimately know who they were? And if she did know who they were, why was she in such a hurry to get away. Unless she was a complete dunce, they meant her no harm.

Fae may have been failures, but they were still made by the Guardians. They were just ... failed experiments. Still better than heretics.

Nephi's attempts at lying completely melted away when Faroth knowing Eligor somewhat blew their cover, the grey heretic pointing him out with his exact name. Wait, they knew each other? So much for keeping themselves secret. Of course, at the same time, if they knew each other, maybe they would get distracted by conversation and not pursue after their teammates heading towards the cave.

And this "Faroth" knowing them appeared to grant the bonus of their innocence being assumed. Sometimes, he would take what he could get.

Nephi shot a pointed look back, falling back into the act with a look of annoyance. "Perhaps if you hadn't suggested we make a left, we wouldn't have this problem--" He cut himself off, "realizing" he was getting into another fight when they had a way to get out of there present right in front of them. "Oh, if you could point us in the right direction, that would be great."

At least they could get away from the heavy weight pressing onto his shoulders for a few moments. Maybe he could figure out why there appeared to be a shetani and an angel with these heretics, too...

The way the nymph was freaking out was the utmost of alarming, especially as it seemed to hint that his anger went beyond what his power was able to handle. Was he not focusing hard enough on it? With a small frown, he closed his eyes once again, attempting to exude the aura while not losing complete control on his presence in Telrunya, breaths deep and feet pressed into the ground underneath.

Calm down.

Stay calm.

It will be alright.

That was what Texas was attempting to make them believe, and while he was uncertain if it was working, he hoped it did, even as he finally let crimson eyes open again. His focus was notably not entirely there, eyes seeming out of focus as he attempted to keep his focus on keeping everyone calm. "I don't mean to be rude, but I think the nymph said that was his shovel. With how very passionate he was about saying it, I am inclined to believe him. What purpose do you have in stealing a shovel?"

The demon knit his brows, teeth biting down on his bottom lip just slightly.

"What exactly is going on here?" He paused. "And I don't mean with the injured woman over there."

Genesis kept her eyes squinting at the pink glow, well that was certainly suspicious and unusual. She tried to think of anything she might have read about that would cause a pink glow, but she couldn't think of anything. It wasn't like caves had pink glows either though... "Hm, I suppose we should get closer." Genesis agreed with Harveer. Together they could observe it and then get the rest of the group if it proved to be important. All Genesis could think about right now was how much time was wasted every time they chased after a false lead, better to allow the rest of the group to keep looking for the cave for now.

Genesis pushed forward towards the pink light, motioning for Harveer to follow her. A few steps later the stronger the fear in her heart became. Genesis glanced over at Harveer as she halted in her tracks and took a deep breath in attempt to self-soothe. "If one is afraid, then one knows they pursue the right passage..." Genesis whispered in a distant voice, talking more to herself then Harveer. Her eyes then met with Harveer's as she addressed him, "I feel certain this is the right way."

Dante was overjoyed to have an excuse to leave the pink-haired heretic. He shrugs his shoulders apologetically again at her before following Hania back toward the group. He stops near Katya. His mood had lifted considerably in the last few moments, and he smiles at his friend. That is, until she'd spoken.

Yes, now that he thought about it. He had been feeling doubt tug at the strings of his faith. Perhaps that's why he'd hung back for so long. But then again, he thinks as he glances toward Katya, he hadn't really felt it until she'd mentioned it. He narrows his eyes. Maybe it was her fault! Dante grips his staff tightly. He thought she was his friend! And here she was, instilling doubt in his heart! But wait, he realizes, his gaze softening, what if this is all the plan of the heretics? To make the holy ones doubt each other? He shakes his head with a bit of a shudder, as if to clear it, then nods in response to Katya. He'd have to trust her more than ever now, if they were to defeat the doubt that ate away at their faith. He takes her hand gently as they move forward with the others.

A plan is being formed as they come upon the rest of the group. They were going to split up? Dante can't help but feel that splitting up is a terrible, awful idea. They were safer together. Their light is stronger together. But he'd forgotten his pad and pencil in Telrunya City, so he's forced to nod along as some shed their armor to try to "blend in" and create a distraction while the rest of them investigate the cave. Dante's already not wearing armor, but he's not particularly keen on being a distraction. Besides, he doesn't want to leave Katya's side, and she'd already begun to follow Lailah toward the cave.

Lailah, he thinks with a derisive snort even as he follows her. If her abilities were as big as her ego she'd be the strongest squire among them. It was her rash eagerness to fight that had gotten them into all that trouble in the swamp. Who knows what she'd lead them into this time. Whose idea was this, anyway, to follow her? Lailah was many things and a leader definitely was not one of them. Dante shakes his head again. There it was, the doubt again. It claws at his faith like a ravenous beast. He runs a hand through his hair, his other hand gripping his staff. He has to trust his fellow squires. He closes his eyes tightly and tries to envision a bright golden light chasing his doubts and misgivings about Lailah away. As much as he didn't like her personally, it was imperative that they work as a team, all of them, if they were to succeed.

He pushes a half-formed wonder about where Hania had gone out of his mind before it too could cloud his thoughts with doubt.

It wasn't easy, considering a teenage body isn't capable of producing as much energy as a fully grown one, but she managed to conjure an illusion that would appear inside the cave. It wasn't big or fancy, but it was the best she could do under the circumstances. It was subtle, and only those watching would see it. There was a silhouette of a large, scaled tail with spikes at the end, and it flicked ever-so slightly. If anyone seen it, they'd not doubt she was keeping a dragon inside that cave. Which worked to her advantage.

Earthmother urged those around her to head home. Not just away from the cave, but home. She didn't think Faun needed to know what was going on here. At least not yet. Rais would address them later to fill everyfaun in on what's in the cave. When the time was right.

She knew the Guardians' Chosen were here. But their auras felt weak. They had not come into their powers yet, which means they weren't a threat. But if they were here, that meant they knew about the location of the cave. Protecting the contents of that cave was a bigger priority. She couldn't stay and blow her cover to help Thara, so she prayed to Telrunya that Thara and Ela could handle themselves against the handful of young angels and demons. If she turned to go help, it was entirely likely half of these Pae would too. It was too soon to reveal too much.

Three young teenagers lost in the forest looking for a lake, yet they look a little more prepared for other things. The young girl had ropes and foot cleats, and it did not escape Earthmother's attention that she also only had one wing, so those items would be important for something. What are cleats and rope needed for at a lake? Taking Faroth's lead, and not questioning that he knew the young squire (something she'd have to question at a more discreet time) she just encouraged the teens to accompany them. "Yes, we'll be passing by the lake, so stick with us and you'll get there. This deep in the forest could be dangerous for young folks such as yourself. Never know what lurks in the shadows in these turbulent days." She spoke slow and meekly, trying to portray the elderly Faun she liked others to believe she was.

Thara heard the golden fae's comments about Knights coming and it alarmed her. The knights were who she was warned about. They were who she was specifically instructed to keep out of the cave. But she thought she had more time. She had been assured she'd be at full power by the time she encountered them. This was unsettling.

Flittering her wings and zipping towards Cronos, she placed a hand on the golden fae's shoulder and spun her around so she was face to face with the adult. "What Knights? How do you know them? Are they here now? They're coming?" she was a good foot off the ground and her dragonfly-like wings fluttered faster than any Fae's wings could move. Her tone was angry and panicked. She needed answers and this Fae seemed to have them. "Who are you?"

The diversionary group seemed to be succeeding with their task. Despite the tension Katya sensed in her comrades, it seemed that there was so much tension going around even amongst the heretics that their performance must have seemed rather convincing. She was about to comment on her surprise that the ruse was working when the others moved forward, executing their own mission, and reminding Katya that she had a job to do herself.

The little demon watched Lailah dart off stealthily amongst the trees, patrolling most likely, while Genesis and Harveer began to scout for any sort of entrance. The distracted heretics had not yet noticed their intrusion, and they actually seemed to be walking away for the moment. She left Dante's side and made a wing-assisted hop into the branches of a tree from where she could keep an eye on Lailah (not that she would likely need any aid soon) as well as Harveer and Genesis by the rock face.

That's when she saw Genesis leaning in and peering intently between some overgrown vines, and trying to get Harveer's attention. She definitely looked like she'd spotted something. Katya raised the left of her large, red wings and waved it to try and get Dante and Lailah's attention, pointing with her right hand at the pair who'd gotten closer to the destination to silently indicate that they might be onto something. Since Lailah was much further away, Katya wasn't sure she had seen the message, so she leapt from the branch and silently glided to the ground a few yards away from her, then tapped a rock against the nearest tree, making it sound like a woodpecker, as per a pre-arranged signal, before repeating her earlier motion pointing at where she'd last observed Genesis and Harveer.

Yukiko giggled a little and smiled at the two of them. "Well, I suppose we could continue in that direction, see what we find. We're bound to run into someone else eventually, right?" she said. There was something odd about the forest today, something...she just couldn't put a finger on. Still, her curiousity got the best of her and if the siblings were still going, then so was she.

Beldaran nodded, "Yeah lets do it" though she sounded confident and excited in the idea of following the pae who were now long out of sight there was an almost foreboding feeling ahead of them that caused her to be a bit nervous, and she wasn't sure why she felt that way. Normal days she had no issues with entering the forest near there home

Darius too agreed with Yukiko "We can hope, otherwise they are just like us, lost without a map" he laughed since his sister had just been bugging him about such things. He looped his arm through his sister's and offered the other to Yukiko to loop hers through in a friendly gesture. "Lets go someone needs to be found in there!"

User ImageShe was as silent as an ocean breeze.

Elarinya was still young, and perhaps that showed no better than when she attempted to react to the world around her, infinitely curious and even more infinitely a wanderer, following whatever caught her view from no matter what direction it came in.

Today, that distraction came in the form of new Pae about the size of her caretaker, looking much more ... covered than she ever would. Hmm. That was silly... What were they coming this way for? Thara had sounded a bit panicked to the Earthmother, but nothing that they were saying was extraordinarily out of the ordinary, right? Everything was fairly normal but yet they were going closer to the cave...

Well, that just wouldn't do!

She needed to find out what they were up to!

Elarinya closed colorful eyes for a moment, plucking a small dandelion out of the ground. A word was murmured, before she leaned forward, blowing ever so gently on the dandelion.

Seeds flew into the air, carried by the breeze, and attached themselves to the gear of those ahead of her, unnoticeable in size and in touch.

Once she was suitably satisfied with her work, the young fae gathered her legs closer to herself, wings flapping in the air as she attempted to get herself a bit higher off the ground. Now to find out who they were! The dandelion was dropped onto the ground, carried off by a wind in the opposite direction, and she flew to the Squires, gliding through the air like a natural despite her oddly small wings.

She suddenly swirled in front of Genesis, multicolored eyes about as wide as they could be as they stared directly into Genesis' own, a look of curiosity on her face as she looked over those in front of her. Nearly gliding, Elarinya moved to do the same to Lailah, before swinging back towards the direction of Harveer, looking up and down him rapidly as if trying to come to her own conclusions about those in front of her. She was very definitely fae-like in her mannerisms, childish nature on top of it perhaps amplifying her behavior.

Unfortunately, this made her a bit of a nuisance.

"I haven't seen big Pae like you before! What are you doing here?"

A curious nuisance, at that.

"Are you trying to go to the cave? It's a big place! I've seen it from afar..."

Thankful that she was at least being -something- to work with, Twinkleshine tried to pay attention to the directions Katya quickly gave. They were said so quickly, though, that she could barely follow them, and all she really understood was a general direction to go towards to find a waterfall of some sorts before the angel left. "W-wa..." Her hand, which had reached forward as she was about to speak dropped with her voice, and she stood alone in the forest, looking around hesitantly as chills started to go up her spine. This place wasn't a good place, and she needed to get out. Now.

Looking back towards the forest, she stared as she tried to remember just where exactly she was meant to be going, or where the group had gone. Oh well... Nothing good would come of her just standing here. Wrapping her arms against herself, she moved to the north, in the direction of the cave and waterfall.

(anyone feel free to notice her, otherwise she'll just end up randomly somewhere she probably shouldn't be)

Celestia was about to turn to head out again with the others, to the lake and then back to the tree, when the teenage fey seemed to have a reaction to one of Coronus's sayings. That was strange... Sure, she always said things that didn't seem to make much sense, and sometimes it seemed like she knew too much about things, but this was something else. There was fear, concern, panic. Not something that someone who was apparently more powerful than Earthmother should be showing at the mere mention of a name.

Choosing to try and see what the fey was hiding, the princess spoke in response. "Coronus travels between the worlds... or she says. Much of what she speaks hasn't sense to me, but among the strange conditions and tales, there always seems to be an underlying truth." She shrugged lightly, deciding to poke a bit of fun at the whole story Celestia believed she and Earthmother to be weaving. After all, knights always saved the princesses from dragons in fairies tales.... Right?

"Are you frightened that some amount of knights may be on a quest to slay your dragon?" She said this with no detectable note of sarcasm in her voice, rather instead like a genuine, concerned question.

Tamara waited for the lady to begin to rubbing her foot. She knew it would hurt but she was feeling strangely calm about it. though she did pale a bit when the demon started questioning her companions. Turning her attention on the demon, she attempted to smile reassuringly at him. "I have no idea what you mean." she offered. She was almost sorry that her ability to lie was null ad void. But she figured everything would be allright. Unless they started a fight. The idea made her frown. She didn't want to fight. She had a feeling that the nymph wouldn't be much help in a fight.

Pelagious was freaking out. Not only was his brain telling him to calm down, it seemed to be calming down on his own. There was no way he was okay with being kidnapped and hauled off to goddess knew where. Why was beginning to feel so calm about this. Something wasn't right here.

"Ummm...She didn't steal it. I ...ummm...gave it to her?" he said, albeit a bit slow and unthinking. He was trying to figure out what the hell was going on. It seemed to be coming from one of the two new ones they had found. Maybe if he could get rid of them, he could go back to being freaked out. Instead of calm and rational like he was trying to be now.

Coronus backed up surprised when the teenage fae appeared in front of her. When she heard the questions she realized just how odd her postion was in being there. She has a right to know Coronus thought she is the guardian of the cave though how much more confusion could she cause by trying to explain her powers. She was about to speak when she heard Celestia try to explain her powers, she did not know that her tales sounded so out there that people would not believe them. She waited for the princess to stop speaking before she spoke,
"It is kind of like what the princess said but not that exactly. My power allows me to travel to worlds exactly like ours but different in ways. These worlds do not show me what is going to happen only what might happen. For example in one world this cave," she motioned to the cave with her hand. "Might have a family of bears living in it or it might not exists at all or maybe like this time there could be a dragon sleeping in there. I came here to see what our world held. That is what brought me here today." she stopped to collect her thoughts. "The reason I know about the knights is because in almost every world that this cave exist I have run into knights who were looking or heading towards the cave. I do not know the reason for it just that I do not want to be around when they came so I always left. I think it would be best if we leave soon."

Earthmother hesitated a moment to ensure all the pae were with her. Celestia hesitated and it slightly annoyed the elder faunness. "Celestia, I insist you accompany me. There is nothing here for us and Rais needs us back at the Tree. The Fae can accompany partway too if you want to chit-chat, as everyone really should be on their way."

Her patience with the dilly-dallying was wearing thin, and she had hoped to be out of the vicinity by the time all these strange golden auras arrived in one place. And she wanted to lure these three away before their comrades joined them. Divide and conquer, and all.

Thara stared square in Coronus' eyes even as the fancy-pants faunness addressed her, championing for the crazy golden fae. Traveling between worlds was not something ordinary Pae could just do, so Thara had decided that crazy was definitely the right word for her. Bears in my cave? No cave? The constant is the knights? That made absolutely no sense. Thara thought for just a second, assuming that the crazy fae was telling the truth. If she can travel between worlds, the constant should be the contents of that cave, not the knights arrival. Thara was no dummy nor stranger to the existence of other worlds, but she was under the impression that ability had been lost to these lands when the Void Pae'il were killed off thousands of years ago. She might be inclined to believe the golden Fae, but her wrong information about the constant being the knights was all the evidence the mysterious teenager needed to make up her mind about the situation.

She let Coronus go, lowered herself softly to the ground and reached up to dust Coronus' shoulders off where she'd gripped a little tight. "My mistake. You should follow your own advice and get going." Choosing to finally acknowledge the faun, Thara folded her arms behind her and took the few steps towards Celestia to close the gap. Should she reveal who the Knights are or not? Maybe this stranger needed an education.

"You are new to this island. Yes? Earthmother nor Rais has informed you of our... your plight?" she had to catch herself, so she stopped a moment to collect herself and remind herself of the mission here. "Story time. Since you don't feel the need to respect your Earthmother, let's all sit down, have some tea and I'll tell you the story of the Knights." She sat down on her bottom, crossing her legs in front of her. She waved her hands in a flourish, trying to mimic bards and storytellers of old. "Once upon a time, there lived a special type of peaceful creature. These creatures had a purpose, to protect the natural magic of this land. But along came some evil creatures who coveted that magic, feeling it was theirs for the taking and that the peaceful guardians didn't deserve such powerful magic."

This was ridiculous and Thara knew it. She knew the Guardians' chosen were nearby. She spoke loudly so they might hear her. Maybe it'd incite them from their hiding places. Force them to come out and correct her. She also had doubts that the fancy faunness would even believe her. Oh well, its her hide, not mine if she's so arrogant to disregard instructions from two of the smartest Pae on this island.

"The first try didn't work. They failed and the normally peaceful creatures proved to be strong adversaries. So the evil creatures called upon their gods for help. Their gods answered by sending fearsome warriors. The fastest, strongest, smartest, and most obedient and malevolent of all opponents were created. These warriors could not fail. They were instructed to eliminate all of the peaceful creatures and recover the sacred magic. They slaughtered all of the peaceful creatures, taking the powerful magic for themselves." Thara kept in-character, adding flourish to the tale with her dramatic hand motions.

"The Knights, are those warriors reborn." She warned, then stopped, looking around at the remaining pae. "They obviously didn't complete their orders, so they're back to finish the job. The peaceful creatures they were ordered to kill? Well, it ain't faeries now, is it? So you might wanna go hide if they're on their way." She may have exaggerated the story slightly for emphasis, but there was some truth to it.

Still in earshot, Earthmother shot Thara a glare. The impetuous young fae was all to eager to spill sensitive information sometimes.

Celestia looked back to Earthmother, nodding once. It was really best to just listen to what she was telling her to do, as she certainly did not want to rub off the wrong way on one of the most important faun. Besides, the fey seemed to be uninterested in her explanations, and Coronus could catch up to them if she wished to do so later. Or, if she didn't, it was of no matter at this point. Glancing back to the fey for a moment, she turned to walk away with the rest of the party.

This didn't last very long before the princess was actually addressed. A struggle...? No, she hadn't been told of anything of the sort, but what had that to do with any of this. She just wished to return home at this point, the aura around them taking a toll at the princess's nerves. Perhaps that was why she had felt the need to step in for Coronus? It didn't matter though...

What? Had she done something wrong? Sure, she had lagged behind, and she had doubted what she was saying, but she hadn't voiced any of her concerns out of respect. She was listening to her in the first place out of respect. To say she wasn't giving any, especially from a teenager, was simply... It was enough to burn at Celestia's blood. But now wasn't the time for a temper, if any was. Instead, she took a small breath to calm herself, looking to Earthmother as the fey continued on.

"I truly meant no disrespect, Earthmother... If I have done or said something of offense, I am ashamed to have done so..."

She looked away, her head down to show how poorly she felt that something she did could even be interpreted that way. While she had originally felt anger at the thought, she had calmed down enough to realize that she must have done something rude if she was being called out on it. The only reasonable thing to do in this type of situation was to admit one's guilt and hope for forgiveness. Right?

But the fey was just speaking louder and louder; how were they to leave now that she was throwing such a fit. Even though it was likely provoked by her own remark of knights and dragons, which, in retrospect, was probably not a proper thing to have done, she didn't need to aggravate the situation.

Despite thinking that, Celestia was intrigued. Was this... Was it a history to the land they now were a part of, and had originally come from long, long ago? It struck such a resounding cord with her, the way she spoke and the tale that she told, that the fey could have told her the sky was originally green and the trees blue and she would have believed. The words of gods, of war and death, of hate and greed, all served to make her more uncomfortable with their situation. Were they really coming to kill all of them... these knights...?

How could anyone do such a thing?

Her face dumbstruck, she tried to regain an air of composure as she looked to Earthmother, wishing for some sort of assurance... or was she wishing her to negate the tale? Swallowing, her throat dry, she softly asked, "Is her tale true...?" Pausing a moment, she looked down and added, almost silently, rubbing the tops of her arms as if she were cold, "...I... I wish to leave..."
