When Zarin was 14 years old, his mom married his step-dad. That was when Zarin got a new step-sister by the name of _____. She was older than Zarin by a couple of years or so, so she was responsible for keeping Zarin in line. _____ and Zarin became really close, which made their parents happy. Though, on Zarin's 17th birthday, _____ and Zarin's parents died in a car crash. Today, Zarin lives with ____ in her apartment, with her being his guardian. Zarin got a part time job at _____'s workplace, a middle school, as a student teacher. What happens on Zarin's day off when ____ comes home drunk, saying her boyfriend broke up with her? How will things progress between these two step-siblings?

It was Saturday night, and Zarin was home alone. Ferra had told him that she was going to meet up with her boyfriend. He looked at the clock, knowing that she would be back soon. Truth be told, he didn't like Ferra's boyfriend.

Ferra wobbled slightly as she walked down the sidewalk towards her apartment. She was drunk, crying, and just royally pissed. She had gone out to have a few drinks with her boyfriend, Luka, and he dumps her even before she could get down one shot of vodka. Needless to say she managed to get in more than one shot and it was showing in her uneven and tipsy steps. Ferra fumbled with the keys for a second at the front door, failing miserably, and then slumped against the front door with a thud.

Zarin, who had heard the thud of Ferra slumping against the door, went to check it out. When he saw his step-sister sitting on the floor, crying and reeking of alcohol, he could only think of one thing that would make her act like this, a breakup. "Come on sis, let's get you inside." Zarin helped her to her feet and once inside, sat her down on the couch. "So I'm guessing that Luka broke up with you?"

Ferra sniffled a bit and grumbled,"He was an idiot anyway. I should have known he was no good. I'm so... naive..." Her long pale hair fell in front of her emerald green eyes. She grabbed the rubber band off her wrist and twisted her locks up in a messy bun. She put her feet up on the couch in front of her and wrapped her arms around her knees. Ferra put her face against her thighs and screamed a muffled scream of frustration, anger, and angst.

Zarin, who was sitting next to her, frowned a little. He didn't like seeing his sister like this at all. He gave her a small hug and smiled. "Come on sis, you shouldn't beat yourself up so much." He knew that she and Luka had been together for a while, but was surprised as to how they broke up.

Ferra wrapped her left arm around Zarin and exhaled heavily. She liked sitting there with him. It felt nice, like home. She yawned a bit and closed her eyes as she leaned back against the couch. Zarin was right, and she knew it. Ferra exhaled again, this time lifting her hands to her eyes and rubbing them vigorously, causing her makeup to smudge slightly.

Zarin was glad that she was starting to calm down a little. He grabbed a tissue box and held it out to her. "It might be better if you used these instead of your hands." He grinned a little when he saw her makeup smeared.

Ferra accepted the tissue box gratefully. She wiped her eyes and took off the rest of her makeup. She had no use for it at that point. Ferra was getting pretty tired and yawned loudly before snuggling into Zarin's side and dozing off.

Zarin smiled as he saw Ferra doze off. He was feeling a little tired himself, and began to doze off as well. He laid his back and slowly closed his eyes.
