[1v1] Beyond A Doubt (Kiwi & Ren)

Kiwi had lurked out to the haunted house to watch the students for awhile, when he happened to notice a certain sandy-headed boil approach the building.

Oh ... the scareling from the class, he realized, thinking back to how the inkjar concoction had empowered him ... as a fluffy and adorable minipet. A bit humiliating, but it was an interesting tactic. There had to be more to this boil than met the eye.

"Afternoon," he smiled, placing a hand on the griffin's shoulder as he approached. "I was quite impressed by that class you held. Perhaps, if you wouldn't mind, we could step inside and test our skills a little??"

Ren, of course, was delighted to hear that someone was not blaming him for that whole foxfire incident that totally wasn't his fault, even if that someone just happened to be a Horseman. Ren turned a little and smiled, half warily, half pleasantly, trying to contain the fact that he was ultimately pleased that someone appreciated him.

"Thank you," he said graciously, and his eyes flickered to the House briefly before he turned back to the Horseman, all smiles. "And of course, I wouldn't mind assisting you."

"Ah, wonderful." Kiwi's eyes lit up as he ushered the griffin boil forward, leading them inside the Haunted House. Even now, the horseman stepped a bit warily, his footfalls soft on the creaky boards as he stepped within. There was something that still lingered here, some fragment of that day that made the whispers stir the deeper in he went.

Click. Kiwi opened one of the doors, leading them into an adjacent room. Dust swept warm against his skin, and he glanced up.

They seemed to have reached an island. Glimmering turquoise water lapped up onto the pale sands of a beach, that was quickly overtaken by lush green grass and several ... oddly carnivorous-looking palm trees that dotted the landscape. The rocky slopes further inland made it hard to tell where the next door might be, but it seemed as good a place as any for a battle.

Kiwi stepped forward, toes sinking into the warm soft sand with ease. And turning to the other, he motioned with his hands. "How does this suit you?? ... If you're ready, we'll begin."

He summoned his sickle and chain, readying a battle stance as he allowed the wooden end to flick out teasingly to one side of Ren.
