HORRAY!!! for the Animation Industry

Box Trolls, an upcoming stop-motion adventure animation;
produced by Laika and directed by Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi
is schedule for release on September 26, 2014.

I've been a big fan of the animation industry.
There has been many representation of the LGBTQ in animation.
Specially the hilarious scene in Paranorman in which Mitch Downe revealed that he has a boyfriend.

The trailer for Box Trolls shows same-sex parents.
I find it very progressive and beautiful to see same-sex parents represented in an animation targeted for younger audience.

That's really cool. Unfortunately the first thing I thought was "I wonder if parents are going to keep their children from seeing this movie because of that."

Regardless, this is progress. It's pretty cute too.

Well, you do have to realize that this is only the American animation film industry.

Homosexual undertones are present in a load of animated mediums and, hell, Japan's been doing it for at least a decade in anime.

However, this certainly is a milestone.

Yes, I'm fully aware that Japanese animation has tremendous list of LGBTQ characters, I linked it on the post above.

Though I'm just glad that North American film animation finally showed same-sex couples,
and created for the young demographic
also depict in such a way that it felt normal and beautiful.
