It was a new day, and Shaheen was ready to put her skills to use once more, alone as she had been the last time. She felt that her last battle with a titan had been quite exceptional, and that maybe this time she could attempt to do more, perhaps seeking out foes further away from the tower. If she was concerned about dying or dissipating here, it didn't show on her face. She had accomplished much in her year since the Isles had fallen, had overcome so many obstacles. She was not under any false impressions that she didn't still have a long way to go, however.
Time to take another step in the right direction. |

She flew out and away from the tower, heading to further reaches where the fight would likely be more difficult, more challenging for her. The further out she went, the worse the whispers seemed to get, and it was not long before she was bringing herself to a halt, to stare down at a particular titan that she didn't care for, one that was similar to what she had fought with Shik, a fight that two of them could barely overcome.
Well, she had been looking for a challenge. It appeared she found it.
Diving downwards, she shoved Fear into her blade while reaching behind her for her other sword. Dual blades in hand, she struck, but for some reason, she could not quite keep ahold of her Fear, and it sizzled out, her blade bouncing harmlessly off of the titan as though she hadn't even touched it.

She landed. Something wasn't right here. This wasn't working. Shaheen stared at the sword in her hand, concentrated on it, on just making the stupid thing work. It flickered with light, flickered, and went out. She couldn't hold it, couldn't concentrate with all of this noise in her head!
With a scream of frustration, she threw herself at the titan anyways. She could still do this, she was sure of it! But she was so unfocused, so lost in her own insanity, that she misjudged herself, didn't move in quite the right way, and ended up with hoofed feet raining down on her from above, striking her over and over again, battering against her Fear shield. It took very little time for her to realize that she couldn't do this, not like this. All of that careful ground she had gained in her struggle to overcome her affliction would be lost.
And so she retreated, giving the titan a hard stare before she took to the air, and took off back towards the portal.

It was only a single day before she was back again, healed up, and this time with a new sense of determination. She would not be disheartened, she would not give up. She had just needed time to reflect, to give herself a mental pep talk, to find her inner calm, and then strike out again. |

She knew just where to go to locate the bigger titan's now. She flew straight out away from the tower, hovering around a certain area, lying in wait for that horrible beast to show it's ugly, insanity ridden head. It didn't take long, it's many legged hooves beating against a dusty and grey littered ground and announcing it's presence long before it was visible.
Her shortsword in one hand, her insanity sword in the other. One glowed like a beckoning light, the other remained dull, devoid of light or life, a sword crafted of that which would destroy her if she wasn't careful.
With a holler, she flew straight into the titan, slashing at it and stabbing it simultaneously, her teeth bared in a wild and feral grin.
HP: 35

It was so much easier this time. It all just felt so much more right then it did before. She was much more focused, her weapon carving through the air and striking the titan with unnatural force, the blade lit up and giving the area color that was a stark contrast to all of that grey despair. She took her hits, but she didn't let them stop her. Her Fear shield took the brunt of the impact, and bruises would heal as they always did.
With a final stab of her blade, it was over. The titan had regained it's solidness, no longer shrouded in fog. She was proud of this accomplishment, and she had to think that if Shik had been there with her, he would have been proud of her as well.
Maybe she would seek him out after this to brag a little bit, and then celebrate quite a lot.
