So I went to my first pride festival yesterday! It was really amazing. There were TONS of people! I have never seen so many LGBTQ+ people in one area in my entire life. It was also great to see so many different kinds of people who could just hang out and be themselves with absolutely no judgment. For the first time, I really felt like there was no shame in being a rainbow community member. I felt safe and now I really do know that I'm not alone.
I also got a ton of papers on clubs I can join when I get to college. (I am moving to the city where the festival was at). My college also build a LGBT+ community and history center, so tolerance at my college shouldn't be a new thing.
I'm just really excited and had to share! mrgreen
