Humanity sleeps so soundly every night, blissfully unaware of the evils that threaten them. Unaware of the sacrifices others make to ensure their survival. The only threats they think they have to face, are disease the occasional crime, and war. They are lucky for if they knew the true threat they might never sleep again, and chaos would run rampant. However a small force of silent guardians patrol the streets in silence. The live inside a monastery hidden up inside the mountains with portals that allow them to arrive anywhere in the world when the duty calls. They protect the world from the greatest threat, the demons of Baal. Baal wants nothing more than to destroy life as we know it, send the world into a spiraling chaos. These guardians have fought Baal and his servants for centuries, though some of their order fall to his sway they persevere. The order has passed on from generation to generation, though it is currently comprised of young warriors they do the best that they can. They sense that the orders greatest battle is just over the horizon, they steel themselves as best they can for that day.

Biography:Maverick is the son of a a human and an Angel both who were former guardians, they've trained him his whole life in the art of their way, they were kind and gentle much as he is himself. He finds he prefers the art of swordplay as opposed to guns, though he acknowledges their usefulness. He has been recruiting and training the newer recruits that have come in but it's hard as it takes a special ability and dedication to become a member of this order. Sometimes he wishes he could be a regular boy, and just live ignorance with the humans.

Biography:One of the members of the Guardians. Kyo has made a name for himself as being one who does not hold back against the demons. Unlike others he has on many occasions left the demon's he fights against as mutilated corpses. . He is at times feared even within the ranks since he is rather vicious even as one who works on the side of good. There has been talk tho that his loyalty has been wavering but this isn't something he bothers to discuss. He has been reprimanded on numerous occasions by the leader and even put on probation for his actions.

Biography: In some ways Riley could be considered a newbie to the life of a guardian, even though both of her parents were guardian themselves. It was something her father didn't want her to be part of after Riley's mom died during a conflict with someone from Baal, however his wish for her not to stray towards that path was more or less ignored. She is still coming to grips with the ropes of protecting humanity from those of Baal, and controling her ability of empathy.

Weapons: Compound bow and chinese daggers.
Magic: Pyrokinesis and empathy, the ability to feel the emotions, thoughts, hopes, desires, and dreams of others.

Biography: When Lydia was young, her parents had been murdered by one of Baal's demons. She was taken in by a relative who was a skilled archer, and she learned all that she could in order to one day become a Guardian and to take revenge on the demon scum that had stolen away her childhood. She had achieved her goal at the age of eighteen, and has remained a faithful member of the order ever since.

Biography: Serissa is the daughter of an angel and a human. However both her parents were not guardians. Only her mother was. The story here gets a little sad. Her father pursued her mother for some time before she finally felt she could allow herself love. Not too long later, Seriphina was pregnant with Serissa and the man left. Despite not knowing her father, Serissa grew up with the loving care of her mother at the monastery. That was until her mother was killed recently by a demon. She trains everyday and keeps to herself because of this. Only one person can really make her talk.

Biography: Skye's family has been in the order for as long as they can remember. Being in a long line of guardians, she has been training since she was a child. Not everyone in the family had the same magical abilities, but they had some kind of power of the elements. Since every member was different, they all trained in swordsmanship together, but for magic training they had to learn on their own. Although she had been training longer than most guardians, she still doesn't have complete control over her powers. If she encounters a dire situation, her powers might overcome her.

Character Name: Nyujaku
Biography: He is Nyumetsu's twin brother, older by only minutes. They are similar in looks, both are pure blooded demons, and their powers compliment each other to a T. The only difference is their personality. Where his sister is more sadistic, he is a little more gentle. He stayed with his family and his sister for as long as he could stand, Baal demanded him to stand by his sister and help with some of his more vicious plans against humanity. Though he still has a dark nature, Baal's constant hand on his back, pushing him down, was to much. He turned his back on Baal and his sister and turned to the Guardian's. They were wary at first of letting him join, but having him there to help them against the demons turned out to be better than they thought. He fears having to go against his sister, as they compliment each other more than any other pair of demon siblings in the underworld. Neither Nyu nor Baal have forgot or forgiven his betrayal.

Weapons: Double headed Trident. It can shorten and extend with his will. He also has a pair of Gauntlets that help him use his Lightning.

Biography: Shayna was born to two guardians, one a demon and one an angel. But the parents didn't want this life for her... Or her twin. So her parents hid them. Hoping to save them from having to go through with the duties and obligations. But as the two got older, and their powers more obvious they realized they weren't just normal humans living in a foster home. And after Shayna accidentally, but angrily, encased another foster child in a plant form of a cage and dragged her under the ground, the two ran away and were found by both of the sides. Her sister was found by the Baal side... While Shayna was sleeping, and the Guardians found her. Before this the twins were inseparable... But now? Shayna actually looks to the male who had found her with reverence. It's almost as if he saved her life. Oh wait,... He did

Biography: Vandere hasn't always been a demon, he was actually human long ago before crossing the plains to the demonic realm after making a deal with them. He offered them his service with the given power, of course lost a lot in the long run. He looks at the world, the filth that it is and how horrible humanity is. It's no great place for children, it should all be wiped clean and have a chance to start over.

To live she works, and she works to live. She walks among the humans with ease and chaotic destruction not far from her. She simply learns to live with the way things are now.

Biography: The daughter of pain, death and torture. Nyumetsu was born in darkness. The shadows are her closest friends. She wishes to destroy the world, leaving it in darkness. To throw everything within the void world she creates and bask in the torturous screams only she can hear as everyone dies slowly and painfully.

Character Name: Morpheus
Biography: Morpheus was born demon, and therefore considers himself better than some of those around him. He is physically blind, the irises of his eyes are a pearlescent, milky white in color. Few and far between know what his eyes actually look like as he rarely takes his mask off. Also, many don't know that he can still see, even with it on. Using magic, he can see aura's of people and things around him. It's powerful enough to etch out detail and even some color, so he still knows what people look like. He is loyal to Baal without fault, and is usually a first contact when a plan is being put together that needs skill. Besides Baal himself, there is only one other that knows him well. He is cold and merciless, feeling no pity for anyone. Torture is his cup of tea, so be careful what you do and say around him. He will not take a second thought to punish you on the spot with whatever he feels fits the crime.

Biography: Felicia was born too an angel and a demon parent who were part of the Guardians. But her parents didn't want her to have their life as well and sent her and her twin away to be with humans who had no idea. Felicia had always been a bit on the nastier side than Shayna, and when her twin had lost her temper, Felicia was all for ditching the foster home and heading out to be what she wanted to be and what she wanted to do. But after awhile she couldn't keep using her powers to lure creatures into their traps and that's when Baal found her. She had been 'hunting' when her twin was sleeping and she had joined the bad side... Of course she didn't exactly tell Baal that she had a twin...

Sweat dripped from his forehead, down his face and then to the floor. It coated most of his body as he stood there panting and attempting to catch his breath. His arms were down at his sides, and a blade was in each hand. Two slightly curved broad swords, slightly dulled with some small nicks in them. They were training blades, not meant for real combat. He had held them long before he ever gripped his combat ready weapons. Slowly he stood up and flapped his wings out in a stretch before putting them back into a resting position. He lunged at the new target that appeared before him, engaging it in combat. Maverick had been training for the past several hours, one of the advantages this generation has compared to previous generations of Guardians, a more advanced training simulation instead of just stationary dummies, these dummies could move and even fight back a little bit. He was incredibly agile from years of training and watching him in action was always impressive to the newer recruits. A second dummy was coming in behind him as he chased the first one, he grinned.

Yua was with in the Black Forest of Southern Germany, just near the edge as she stood there with a hand on her hip, an indifferent sort of expression or perhaps just bored. Her weapons were equipped as usual, sword to her back, pistols holstered to the sides and the cuff that held the hidden blade. She had a small leather pouch just above her skirt, pulling out a small vile of clear liquid "Not a lot of this stuff left...might have to make a trip for some more.." she thought, holding the bottle up to what light she could find to refract the vial. The sound of her blade unsheathing from her wrist could be heard, she held it close and let a few drops of the poison fall onto the tip of the blade.

Putting the vial away, she pulled out many small strips of paper that held ancient Celtic writing onto each strip, a special magic concentrated into each individual strip. "Not sure why they'd want to get rid of this one, you think they'd like it...I should of read more of the notes." thinking to herself as she began to stick the small papers to some trees, spreading them out and she made some haste.

Heading off to an open field, Skye had to pass by the training building to get there. She heard someone in one of the rooms, someone that seemed to be training quite hard from the panting she heard. She also heard the clangs of metal, maybe someone was training with a sword and she was eager to spar with whoever was in there, her magic training could be put on hold. Taking a peek, she could see that it was Maverick and a smirk appeared on her face. She leaned against the doorway, watching him and wondering if she should make the floor icy or leave him be.

Long flowing red hair clashed against the stark white of the young woman's attire. A katana sheathed in black was sitting in the grass next to her as she flipped a page in a book. Serissa had decided to read this morning rather than train. Not having been able to sleep well lately, she had spent over half her night up training. Even though she wasn't going to be participating, she kept her katana on her at all times. That was how her mother had died. She had been caught off guard and without a weapon. The demon who killed her was ruthless, and left not much. It was a sight she wished she could unsee. It had been only a few months ago, but it still bothered her. She flipped another page trying to distract herself. Little did she know an eerie breeze had picked up due to her somber mood and series of thoughts.

Demoness of the Shadows

Laughter. Cold, cunning and eerie. Dark. She lived for the despair she caused others. The filth of the above had to be eradicated. Screams echoed within the demoness's ears. She being the only one who could hear the suffering and despair of those trapped within the void. Nyumetsu laughed hysterically. Oh it was such sweet music to her ears. She had been lounging accented with human skulls. Both legs thrown over the arm as she leaned back to observe inside the opening of the void upside down. Closing the opening, she swung her legs around and placed her booted feet on the ground. She stood in a fluid movement and cracker her black leather whip. "Now.. who is next?" Those she had chained and kneeling before her were lesser demons, half breeds, three-quarter breeds... either way they were not full blood and had failed miserably in their duties. It wasn't like she had asked much of them. She wondered what he would think of their failure. Smiling she cracked her whip again. One of the chained ones writhed in pain as it felt like fire licked along his flesh where the whip left a welt.
