Soooooooooooo...
After introducing two new types with the second generation of Pokemon, we haven't seen a new type emerge until now.
And fairies?? Ok, let's anazlyze.

As far as I've looked into it, the new type doesn't really make too much of an impact overall.
Offensively....
It's super effective against Dragon, Fighting, and Dark.
It's not very effective against Steel, Poison, and Fire.

Defensively...
Dragon moves don't even touch the type.
It's resistant to Fighting, Dark, and Bug.
It's weak against Steel and Poison

Then comes dispersing the type throughout Pokemon that already exist.
As far as what info has been released, we are looking at a Fairy type addition to:
Gardevoir, Marill, Azumarill, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, and Mawile
There are bound to be more additions, that's just all that's officially been released.
Surely Clefairy will be included. I mean, "fairy" is in its freaking name. COME ON. xD
The new fairy Pokemon are definitely... different.
Personally I don't really like most of what I see, but there are a few awesome additions.
They are listed on this page, along with more about the type.

Now tell me, what do you think??
Any Pokemon you expect to gain this new type or hope to see gain it?
Think about what this addition means for those who have gained it.
Who are they good against now, or suddenly weak against when not before?
Looots to ponder on. wink

Wait, so you mean my deep-seated love of Jigglypuff will finally translate to something other than pitying stares?

YES!

Ahem. Anyway. In most fairy myths, fairies are awesome and scary as ********, so I'm hoping that will carry over to Fairy-Type Pokemon.

Agreed. Hope the hoping pays off. xD

They might have like a dark side or something. burning_eyes

Well, fairies aren't just like the little Tinkerbell types, right? You have elves and gnomes and elementals; some myths classify creatures like unicorns and gryphons and Kelpies under fairies, as well.

I would LOVE a Kelpie Pokemon, is all I'm saying.
