uh well maybe because your own mother hasn't seen you in six months and you couldn't take time out of your day of dicking around to talk to her (when actually all you've done in the past six months is d**k around with no real responsibilities)?????? okay maybe her ignoring you isn't the most mature thing but for real, I would be mad too.

Give her time. She's probably hurt. I'm a mom and although my kids are younger, their birthdays are a huge day of reflection for me. How am I doing? Do I need to change anything. I remember when they were born, those first nights home, I remember what it was like to hold them. And I want to connect with them, even if they pissed me off royally the day before. Even if they are being little shits for months before that.
Adult parent/child relationships are just weird. If you want to talk to her, she will come around.

I'm mostly just pissed that one of my friends has been in New Zealand since March and constantly blogs about how it's the BEST THING EVER and everything back home is terrible and boring and not worth caring about. It doesn't involve me really at all, but I think she's just being immature.
So the top part is from her and the rest of it is my annoyed reaction.
