This completely blows. I'm still getting paid, but I'm stuck here in IL until a budget is passed. The base is pretty much shut down because everything here is outsourced to civilians, who all just got furloughed.
The commissary is shut down.
I can't even leave to visit my family, even if I buy my own plane ticket.
I just have to sit here in my room, living out of a suitcase, and getting my two meals a day.
stupid.

UPDATE: Okay, so Ive been using my phone for internet but I maxed out my Data...
And the only wifi available on base.... is run by a Navy IT resource.. staffed by federal employees. Who are furloughed. Which means no wi-fi.

It's like, I had no idea how many things don't work if people arent getting paid.
