I like the music from .hack//
Music wasn't bad, it's the plot and characters I had problems with.

One thing to blame is the animation studio when you compare the two.

A1 pictures does action well.

Bee Train doesn't, as proven with many of their shows.

I don't care about action when I watch shows, though it's always a nice bonus.

lulz Gaia really should've fixed that by now.
I really appreciate the concepts behind them, I just think they could've been carried out much more effectively.
I'd give season one of SAO a 7/10 if it makes you feel better.
Just not a fan of it.

I just think differently. I saw .Hack aaages ago so I may be biased because of nostalgia but I loved .Hack//Sign and the story.

I honestly can't compare SOA to it which to me felt like half of the series were filler episodes, sure It's got cleaner animation and is more action focused but it felt too rushed, main characters felt like side characters with barely any character development and the second season just felt like a big kick in the face.

But hey, that's just my personal opinion.

I pretty much agree with you on that. Season 2 should've never happened.
I actually rewatched .hack//sign last week since I hadn't seen it since seventh grade or so.
You can like what you want. A score's just a score. As long as you enjoy it. I love rurouni kenshin but I'd only give it a 6/10.

I disagree about SAO being better than .hack

Obviously the animation in SAO was better and the whole concept was pretty cool but in the end it knew it was a shounen harem-esque story and so did we whereas .hack tried to build a whole legacy of story. The .hack series spans over so much time and provides so many characters that don't just simply fall in love with the protagonist, which why why I favor .hack.

I just recently watched SAO for the first time after refusing to watch it during the height of its hype due to my love for .Hack. Although i don't like that SAO got the attention i though that .Hack deserved (Also wearing my nostalgia goggles for this), I feel that SAO is better than .Hack because it is faster paced with more action, rather than .Hack which i feel is more of an intellectual anime. A lot of talking goes on and it keeps you invested with its story and characters, like Mister Dust said.

Although, what the heck? Season 2, Story arc 2 whatever the heck it is, wut? What are you doing Sword Art Online? Please tell me what you are doing.

The first Story arc/Season of SAO was a lot better, although i liked finally seeing what was happening in the real world when they were not in the game. That is it, i think. XD

SAO is still not touching either the Potter-world or dot hack, to be honest.

I just fell asleep.
