I watched a friend's mother last week and he gave me straight up cash for doing it.
I had to go pick up some stuff for the boys, and while out I stopped at game stop "just to price to see if it would be remotely possible" as the kids have been begging for an xbox. I figured with the new one coming out, the old ones will be going on sale soon.
So, they had 120 for the 4 gig wifi 360 plus free game. I counted up my cash, thought...I would only need to take 30 bucks out of my account...I should do this for xmas. Picked up two kinnect games and almost caved and bought a used kinnect but the guy said not to. He said to wait until black friday as they will oly be 20 bucks. (I figure with kinnect they can each play without fighting over controllers). The second game was pre used and 8.99 so I figured I'd suck it up for the cost...however the dude gave it to me for the pro membership price of 6.99. Woot!
Realized I would have no way to test if the machine worked without the actual Kinect and asked the guy I worked with last night if I could borrow a "normal" game to check it out this week.
Last night, he came in with NFL and NBA Madden, Borderlands, Halo, Grand theft auto (recomended not letting kids play these lol) another game I can't remember but M rating as well, an extra controller and headset. Said "I just sold my system because I'm getting the PS4, so just keep them". Wouldn't take money for them.
Mamma is finally getting excited about xmas.
Now to find a tree!

Not bad for Gamestop, but only if the system was new.
If it was used, be careful.... they get a lot of banned consoles, especially lately. A banned console won't be able to connect online for anything.
Also, to use Netflix or pretty much any apps or online play, you need a gold membership. You can get a free month trial.
You'll want to either find an official hard drive or pick up a 32gb flash drive for extra storage/dlc/game installs.

Sounds like y'all are going to have a nice Christmas! My only complaint about Xbox is the Netflix thing that Rev mentioned.
