Wes was peering intently at a sleeping form. Her soft glow lit up the den in an eerie light he found calming and wondrous. He had started their life together making it a point to keep their bedding separate so that K-0S was respected and cherished yet each and every morning he woke up to her curled next to him sleeping soundly. He hardly breathed in fear of waking her up. Yet he wanted to pull back and have a bit of space for himself. It was like this when she was a kit too, but then she had been smaller and less inclined to be quite so tempting. All he wanted to do right now was to trace the lines on her form which glowed. This of course would wake her up and he didn’t’ want to be that mean to her. It was easier to resist messing with a sleeping kit in fear she would wake up cranky. It was harder to do with a beautiful vixen who snuggled up next to him sometime every night.

He blinked and shifted his weight by a minuscule amount. When that brought no reaction he did it again after a few moments. This action was often repeated a hundred times before he could get out the bedding without waking K-0S, that was provided she didn’t snuggle back to him still sleeping. Then trying to move back and not wake her became hours of torture rather than a few moments of discomfort. Breathing as softly as he could he decided it just wasn’t worth it to get up right now and lay that small portion of himself that he had managed to get up back down. This made for an awkward lay half in and half out of the bedding but he really didn’t care.

[X Moon Fighter X]

The glowing vixen did not move. She didn't feel the movement of the other. She wiggled slightly and felt out of place. There was space and a lack of warmth near her. The space made her uncomfortable and wiggle to one side, and when she discovered there was nothing there, she reversed her wiggling until her body met a warm, soft fur. She pressed into the warmth and clung to it. The separation made her uneasy. With a tight squeeze, to who she hoped was Wes, her eyes cracked open slightly. With a smile she saw another blue fox in her arms.

With the reassurance of Wes she nuzzled into the soft fur of his chest and started to drift off again. She couldn't help it he was warm and soft. He was comfortable and so was she. She attempted to say "Hi" but it only came out as an inaudible mumble. Her mouth was a little dry from her sleep and her face was still pressed against his chest. Thinking her message was heard and understood she continued to nuzzle him.

The nuzzling was rather pleasant but Wes really had been trying to distance himself from her. “K-0S, good morning. I do believe your bed is over there.” He gently tapped her head and pointed to her bed even thought he didn’t expect her to look. Sighing he considered just getting up but then she’d move again. Really every morning getting up was bad enough but having someone warm next to him made it all the harder. “Ok I’m getting up now.” It was another five minutes before he could convince his body to start acting.

He finally stood up and nudged her gently. “Hey now little glowbug enough of that squirming about. I’m getting up. You can feel free to sleep in if you want but I’ve some gathering to do. Especially if you want more of those blueberries you’re so fond of.” He gently brushed her hair once then set out passing his collections as he left the den. Of course he had his masks which he loved, but still he wanted to find something special for K-0S to get soon. He had given her his prize mask and his next goal was to give her something to go with it. Girls like accessories so he had to find something she would like. Something that would fit with the mask. A ribbon perhaps?

She didn't bother looking the other way. Wes was far more comfortable than her bedding was. She stretched and groaned, her body didn't want to get up. Large red eyes looked up at the male and she attempted to get up, but failed. "Do you have to leave now?" She whimpered a bit and wanted him to lay back down with her. She had a feeling that Wes would stand strong against her and refuse her plea. So She stood up and wobbled, still groggy from sleep.

She followed him to the mouth of the cave and pawed at him. "Can I go with you?" Her tail wagged and her glow became slightly brighter. She loved blueberries and wouldn't mind eating some while they gathered. Though it would take all her might not to eat all of the ones they gathered on the way home. She also wanted to find some flowers. She kept some in the cave to help it smell nice and the current ones she had were dying. "Wes? Is that all you are planning to do today? Gathering?" She was rather curious, if that was the case she might start the day with him and venture off on her own. Wes had given her a beautiful mask. Yet, K-0s hasn't gotten him anything yet. She knew he liked blue and glowing and couldn't think of anything off the bat to give him.

He considered telling her that she couldn’t come, but then she would get curious and try to follow. “Well I guess it’s really up to you. I’ll just be gathering and maybe looking around to see if there’s anything new growing about.” He made it as droll as day as possible. “So some basic scouting too. What are you plans for the day my lovely little glowing flower?” He looked to her wondering if she had any plans for the day. “You know there is a human territory not too far from her. It would take half a day but we could go raid it if you wanted to.” He gave her a grin letting her in on the fun and of course if she wanted to go he could find a ribbon or something for her. That would make his job easier. He could just go with her and pick a gift from the humans that she seemed to fancy, and do it in front of her and look cool while he was at it.


“Though I have to admit it would mean losing out on blueberries if we did go after the humans trinkets.” She would have to pick. Though after if all went well he would sneak out and get her berries in the middle of the night for good morning surprise. He did like to give her things and make her smile that rare and elusive smile that made her eyes sparkle and her glow even brighter.

K-0S pondered, Perhaps she should go out on her own. She too knew of a human treasure pile. Though.. most of it was not so treasure like. "I can handle a day out on my own." She nuzzled Wes and licked his muzzle. Perhaps they would bump into each other as the day went on. "Be careful out there, ok? We will meet back here and show off what we found~" Her tail wagged and she snuck back and found a sack. She slung it over her neck and shoulders. "Here." She also gave one to Wes. She had her mind set on what she wanted to find, sadly, she didn't think they came in blue. Though, she had a feeling Wes would like it all the same.

Wes chuckled at her eagerness. “Only if you think you can handle it~” He knew she could. If anything it was him who couldn’t live without her. “Of course I’ll be careful, and I look forward to showing off for you always.” He looked at her suggestively taking the sack with exaggerated movements. He hated moving with a sack or anything of the like because they slowed him down. He could tuck most treasures into his sleeves and run. Still the fact that K-0S thought of such things for him made him happy. Taking off at a trot he was glad that K-0S was willing to take a day for herself. It meant he could find a gift for and she would even be looking forward to it.

K-0S let her walk be leisurely. It was a lovely day. K-0S couldn't help it though. She darted off in the direction she remembered, and hoped she was right. She wanted to get him a better something to carry things in. She would worry when he would carry it in his sleeves, in fear they would fall out and he couldn't find it. On the way she was able to snack on a blueberry bush, hopefully it wasn't the one Wes was going to go to.

Happy with her snack she continued to the human mountain of treasures and started digging. She found ripped dolls, shredded blankets and much more broken things. She let out a heavy sigh. It was gonna be a while if she found something. If anything at all.

Wes had to full out run if he was going to make it to the human settlement in time. He was out of breath by the time he arrived so he stayed low in shaded narrow pathway that humans never seemed to use unless they were tossing out things from their dens. A loud noise came and went past him making him shiver. He didn’t like metal monsters that humans were eaten by and then tossed out of. They did glow at night which was fun to watch, but they were far too loud. He waited till his breathing evened then began taking the back ways around the human dwelling till he found what he was looking for. The den was a place many humans went in and looked around before grabbing a trinket and leaving. There was clear front that showed many trinkets but had clear breakable glass in the front. He waited outside the back until a human eventually came out the back to do something or other and tossed a rock that jammed the door. The human didn’t even seem to notice. Such careless things. Sneaking in he looked around. Many strange scents around but little noise. The place seemed to be empty. Who would leave an empty den. Shaking his head he started to move about investigating. He had to find a good gift to give to K-0S. Rifling around he took a number of shiny things and put them into his sack. Still nothing that was K-0S’s color. Hats, gems they all seemed so pale compared to her. Finally he found what he was looking for. It was a blue soft ribbon that was the color of K-0S’s glow. It was long enough it could be a neck ribbon yet thin and elegant. Grinning he tucked it behind his mask only to hear a human’s voice coming from his exit strategy.

K-0S found a hole in the mass of human stuff and wriggled inside. Luckily her glow made it possible to see. She inhaled and held her breath, there were some some sharp edges she want to avoid. She sniffed around for leather and snagged anything made of it. She found some cloth and other shiny things, which will need to be better inspected when she got out. Luckily for her the human scent on the items were old. There were some things on top that had a fresh scent, but even then, it was still old. Once she felt she had picked up enough stuff she wriggled out to examine what she found. She was most eager to examine the leather she found, she hoped it was what she was looking for. Wes had done a lot for her and she wanted to find something nice. She hoped his day was going well.

She let out a heavy sigh. It was cramped in the mound and it was nice to breath again. She dumped her findings and sorted through the small stuff, as she sorted, she hit her jackpot. A leather pouch with straps. She tested it on herself and it easily fit on her arm and back legs. She knew Wes didn't care for the large sack and this would allow him to move and run freely. She took it off and pressed on the metal circle on it. She heard a 'snap' and the flap closed. She was very excited and almost forgot about her other findings. She found soft, warm, material that would keep their den even warmer and one of the trinkets was a small glass fox, painted blue. She found it amusing at stuck it in the pouch for Wes to find later and the rest in her own sack. Anything she didn't want was swept back into the pile. With that she headed back home.

The sound of a human was more than a little off putting. Wes dove for the shadows with sack bouncing off his side. One of the sharp things he had in there was poking into his side, but he didn’t notice. All his senses were trained on the noise the human was making. It sounded angry at something. He crouched low to the ground and listened as it came toward him. It seemed to be yelling loudly just to yell. As it came into the front part of the den where he was it began to swing it’s upper limbs around holding something small and metal. Then it rushed over to a thing and started to yell at it after poking it a few times. Deciding it was time to leave as quietly but as quickly as possible Wes creped in the shadows to the back less well lit part of the den and out the entrance he came in. It was wide open and Wes smiled to himself and began to run. The sack was now noticeable when bouncing on his side and it irritated Wes to no end. Not only that but it slowed him down. The day was mostly wasted by the time Wes got even close to home and he had to stop to catch his breath.

A thought occurred to him that made him groan. He had told K-0S he was going to get her blueberries and hadn’t promised her a gift really just showing her the spoils of the day that she was going to be expecting as food. Dragging himself to the berry bush he had to dump out his treasures to make room for as many berries as he could pick. The human trinkets he placed on large bit of fabric that didn’t serve any function other than looking pretty as far as he could tell. The berries went into the sac and when it was half full he decided he was just too tired to get more. The ribbon was still in his mask and he had a few baubles in his sleeves but the human trinkets he was carrying in his mouth and the berries in the bag on his side made for a very awkward walk home.

K-0S managed to beat Wes home, On her way back she was happy to discover that the bush she found wasn't their usual spot, so she happily at more until she was full. Once home she hid her gift for Wes and rolled around in the fabric till she was a tangled blue ball. She giggled to herself until she discovered she was stuck. She wriggled but it didn't help her situation. She whimpered and hoped Wes would be home soon.

Wes got home feeling tired not knowing how long he had been gone but he really hoped that K-0S was back by now. He knew he could find his little glowing flower in the dark, but so could everything else. Heading home he decided to splay his haul on K-0S’s bed and only show her the berries first. While she ate he could prepare her bed like a queen’s bed. Unfortunately the first thing he saw when he walked in was K-0S tangled up. Instantly he dropped his load he had been holding in his mouth and rushed to her side. The angle she was wrapped at was wrong and he had no way of knowing how long she had been like that.

After a while she stopped trying to get free, she even found a comfortable way to be. As soon as she saw Wes coming she immediately started to wiggle again. She was happy that he was back and, from first sight, looked like he was ok. "Wes!~" Once he was over at her side she nuzzled him. "I -uh... Got stuck." She let out an awkward laugh. "The end is down here." Her tail wriggled and the end of the material swished around. She sat still so that Wes could help. If not he could find a way to cut the material.

“Stuck is one way to put it. Constricted is another.” Slipping the bag off he didn’t care if any berries rolled out his concern was soley for his mate. Following her words he got down to the end and started to figure out this gorgon knot. Taking a bit in his teeth he had to unwrap it from her tail and tug more before he could see that it was tangled with some of the fabric. Moving he grabed another section with his teeth and gave it a tug. It would take a while to get K-0S out this way but he was doing it slowly so as not to hurt her. A few times things fell out of his sleeves as he moved and rolled K-0S to get the cloth untangled but he just kicked away the bits worried they might poke her.
