Years have passed and technology has risen along with man kind. The portals were left open long ago for spirits and humans to live as one, but naturally not everyone felt the same. Wars came and went, between man and spirit, between man and man, between spirit and spirit. It never really ended, but still it was the avatar's job to uphold balance and peace.

Overtime though as technology grew, man became stronger, and another war against the benders soon began. The avatar had disappeared, and the spirits have fled to their world to avoid man. The portals remain open, and man plans to invade soon to take up the world of the spirits. Some spirits still reside in our world in scarce secluded areas. The same goes for many benders as they have gone into hiding. Overtime man and bender came to agreements to preserve the beauty of elemental bending and spiritual nature. Benders could return to society and freely be who they are, though many laws and rules came to hand for benders. If caught bending in prohibited areas consequences would arise. But not to bend is almost as difficult as not to breathe. Gyms were built for benders to move freely. Guilds were built for each element of the nations to uphold bender rights, and work for the betterment of mankind. The division of elements were causing greater divides and tension though, thus a guild for all four elements to work together were created, to replace the missing Avatar.

Rebellion camps still stand strong at the poles of the planet to protect the spirit world. In today's society benders are still very repressed. Most end up working in the guilds for the amount of freedom they are given for their hard work. Some benders repress their nature and move on in society, some never knowing they are one. Others end up joining in rebellions to fight for equal rights, for protection, and for freedom. Where is the Avatar?

Little known to anyone, the Avatar is in school. The Avatar doesn't really know this even. This is an Academy for benders for a good education and to learn the ways of their elements. At each graduation there are four students, one from each element, who will be selected as number one and be able to move into the Elite Guild of the Four Nations. It is an ideal desire for many young, aspiring benders. To help bring the world into balance and fix the problems, but also be granted the leeway that many other benders in society aren't.
