I GUESS. Although I also considered that maybe his old pair of shoes bit the dust so he just bought another pair of while tennis shoes and they're now equally nasty.

Do shoes even last that long without disintegrating?

I once had a pair of boots from Nike that almost lasted that long.
They were camo hiking boots, I loved them.
Then the sole got ripped to s**t while I was hopping a fence to go explore an abandoned asylum with some friends.

I've had the same pair of converses since 9th grade.
So.... 9 years?
Something like that.

They're still intact and awesome.

I definitely have a pair of Converse I bought when I was 13, but they weren't the only pair of shoes I owned. Like, this dude thought it was immoral to own more shoes than you needed, so he had that one pair of tennis shoes and one pair of sandals.

I have a pair of DCs that are maybe 2 and a half years old and in good shape, but that's only because I very, very rarely wear tennis shoes.

I have a pair of DCs that are maybe 2 and a half years old and in good shape, but that's only because I very, very rarely wear tennis shoes.

They were just really well made I guess.
I mean I'm super hard on shoes, so mine last maybe a year and a half tops if they're the ones I wear all the time.
