[1v1] Preparations

More of their peers were graduating. Shun was rather aware of this, but he still didn't quite feel he was ready just yet. Then again, the question of whether he was ever 'good enough' was an ever present issue. Even so, a few more preparations couldn't hurt as a whole.

This lead him to the gym today, where he currently stretched and loosened himself up.

With all the s**t that happens around the school as a whole, he definitely felt that more battle practice was key. And.. well... he did feel that Mitsu could use more experience in this regard as well.

Inu-Mitsu

 

[Inu-Mitsu]

Graduation. It was that ever looming thought in the back of her mind. Even more so as her fellow classmates were graduating one by one. There was that dread of being left behind but also the fear of the unknown. What was beyond this? She supposed she would never know if she didn't face it.

As regrettable as it was Mitsu knew she needed some sort of battle training in preparation. The exams always dealt with something physical skill wise and she was afraid she wasn't quite where she needed to be. So here she was, staring down her reaper as he stretched, fidgeting with the hem of the old long sleeved shirt she had found in the closet. Never wear nice clothing to battle in, she had at least learned that much.

Hearing Mitsu come on in, Shun turned around to face her. He gave a nod, then bowed. From there, he summoned his blades. She had miraculously been cured of her phobia of knives, so he didn't feel a need to not use them here. With his good eye, he watched her for signs that she was ready to begin.  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Mitsu continued to watch for a while until she busied herself picking at the tattered parts of her shirt. She was so preoccupied with what she was doing she didn't really notice Shun was ready until he had his blades already in hand and was waiting.

"O..Oh." Getting somewhat prepared she dropped into a loose stance and waited. She really was not the greatest of sparing partners. The only real challenge she could pose to Shun would be strength.

Once she had gotten into stance, that was signal enough. Shun loved Mitsu, but that was the exact reason why he had no plans on going easy on her. She needed training just as much as he did. And so he rushed forth immediately. He moved quickly to meet up with her, then opened up with a roundhouse kick aimed to her side.

[Inu-Mitsu]

The extent of her lack of training was clear as Shun charged forward. She was always a little hesitant to hurt her reaper but she knew in this instant she had to fight. It was just to bad that thought came a second too late. The force of his kick met her side effectively sending her off balance and stumbling to gather her footing again. The action was far from graceful but at least she managed to stay upright instead of falling on her a**.

Mitsu didn't get knocked over, so there was that. Unfortunately for her, though, Shun didn't plan on relenting after connecting that first strike, especially since she hadn't been able to counter him. Keeping with his momentum, he lashed out with one blade and turned before striking with his second.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Apparently Mitsu was completely out of the game when it came to battling. As soon as Shun struck he was lashing out again, this time with his daggers. She brought up her arms to take the brunt of the attack but ended up with gashes for her effort, her shirt sleeves getting torn in the process. This was why she never wore anything nice when battling. Everyone she battled always leaned toward using weapons and they always tore up her clothes.

When his attacks connected, he paused for a moment to give her a stern look. She was going to need to shape up. With a shake of his head, Shun went on to resume his attack, sweeping low to try and knock her to the ground.

[Inu-Mitsu]

As she collected herself Mitsu looked up to see that stern look. Her ears flattened back as she frowned. She had never been much of a fighter and this seemed to be only proof. Still, she was determined to make it through though she would likely pay for that thought in the end.

Again Shun came charging forward, his foot sweeping out to take her's out from underneath her. It was a fairly effective tactic since she failed to dodge but that didn't keep her from lashing out as she fell, rolling back and away after she hit the ground.

Shun let out a grunt as she managed to land a blow before rolling further away. That was more like it. Crouching down, he watched her movements quietly. Then, he essentially pounced, striking forth with both blades as if they were fangs snapping down towards her form.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Again Shun's daggers met their target but he would likely find difficulty in getting in another attack any time soon. Her motions were too slow to keep up with her reaper's so Mitsu needed to rely on her fear to make up for it. Her shadow began to flicker and move at her feet before it rose in the form of and inky black wolf. It's hallow white eyes trained on Shun, its body shifting back and forth in front of Mitsu ready to block anything else coming her way.

Shun took a step back as he saw the wolf of shadows form to protect her. He rolled his shoulders, then shadowstepped behind her in an attempt to breach through with his blades.

[Inu-Mitsu]

T3 Barrier in effect!: 10/15

The shadow wolf was quick to move to absorb Shun's attack, the surface giving and odd semi-solid barrier. It's movements almost suggested it was made of gas or ink but the resistance it would give would prove otherwise.

With her movements now free, Mitsu was able to focus on attacking instead of blocking. As Shun came behind her to attack she waited for her shield to absorb the damage before she lashed out through it, her hands easily sweeping through the wolf like it were made of smoke.

Shun furrowed his brow for the moment as the shadow caught his attack. While it was solid for him, it certainly wasn't the case for Mitsu. He felt her hands strike him hard, causing him to stumble back a step or so. That was more like it. Letting out a breath, he moved to the side, aiming another kick towards her. He then spun with his momentum and attempted to strike with one of his daggers.
