Linah gave a soft little sigh as she watched Kalira for a few more moments watching her fly away before exhaling softly. No linah Wasn't really big on male dragons but this one just made her curious. She seemed amused when he was acting so formal as she moved her face in closer and bumped the side of his head with her nose before pulling back and snorting a little. She stood and walked around him for a moment before settling down again in front of him. Fluttering her wings slightly, she hummed softly, a direct blood child to the great uncle. That was interesting, "So the great mountain uncle is awake?" she asked softly before humming. When she was born Lao had been asleep and had woken up many years later when she was almost to her 200th year during what she called the great sadness. Swinging her tail for a moment before curling it around her back legs, "Linah Taro Vladden, Child of Armory Vladden and Evite Firechild Descendants of the great fire mother. One of the four first dragons to walk the realm.". Well atleast she got that one introduction down. Maybe this language wouldn't be too hard to remember she hoped.

Her eyes began to move back and forth with Arden's tail and huffed somewhat as she came over and placed a claw down on one fragment, "pretty.." she was talking about both the sound and the little fragments. She wasn't normally one to like red but she was beginning to like the way it sparkled in the sunlight.

"These isles didn't occur naturally you know. They exist because my father willed it, and the Brood Mother wanted a place for her children to be free and realise their destinies." Arden replied, still watching the ruby fragments chime to the swing of his tail. He couldn't figure out how or why crystals and he seemed to share a resonance, but they felt like a part of him. "Also, my father is now the Mountain Emperor: he rules these isles and the dragons here, in case you were unaware. If you want, you could go meet him, I'm sure he'd like to know that other lineages survived the Great Massacre."

Linah hummed somewhat as she sat back a bit looking at him as she snorted a bit of smoke at him, "I've been sleeping for a long time.." she muttered softly before sighing softly as she sat down next to him her wings almost brushing his. She didn't feel so...temperamental, perhaps it was just the sounds that the tail and crystals of his was making. It seemed to calm her down for some reason or another. "Oh yes..I'm sure he has his honored title but to me he is still the first mountain dragon." she seemed amused but tilted her head to the side a little. "That would be...a great honor but It might have to wait..a little" she shifted her wings a bit. "I'm still getting use to everything again." she seemed to be almost embarrassed about feeling so weak and not knowing what had gone on around her for the last few years of her sleep.

"In your own time then." Arden stated, ignoring the smoke as he seemed enraptured by the ruby chimes. He ran his claws over the shards, and watched as they began to bind to his claws. He marvelled at how his claws shone ruby red, coated in the durable gemstones. He ran them along the ground, and his claws chimed with the same resonance that his tail and the gemstones made earlier. " Fascinating...." He mumbled and looked up at Linah with a soft smile. "Please enjoy your stay here. I must go for now, though I'm sure we will meet again." He bowed his head to her and his wings slowly spread. "Also, be careful of my brother: he is a bit temperamental and aggressive." He slowly lifted off and flew north, intent on visiting another island and find more gems.

Linah watched him with avid curiosity and seemed amused as she watched the crystals. It was quite a strange thing and she almost wanted to know more but he seemed ready to go off and explore. Blinking slightly before she nodded her head softly in understanding, "I'm sure that would be nice. Travel safely." she fluttered her wings slightly as she seemed a little put off by his warning before watching him fly off. Sighing softly as she stood up and stretched her muscles stretching her wings out and took flight flying around the volcanic isle before landing back on the ledge just outside her cave. She wasn't ready to leave the isle and travel further just yet.

Kalira heard the sound of wings and looked up in time to see the male leaving while the female flew to her own ledge. At least they'd been quiet about it.

She gave a heavy sigh and stood to shake herself a bit then headed inside her cave to pull her meal out of the fire. She noted that it was nicely roasted and ate very cleanly then broke the bones open for the marrow and cleaned up the remaining mess.

That done, she moved over to her bedding and curled up to sleep since she wouldn't be able to fly much on a full stomach. Better to sleep the meal off, after all, than to get a cramp at a bad moment...

A cloud of smoke started spewing from a nearby geyser, yet unlike regular smoke it seemed to crackle with evil energy. It flowed towards Kalira ominously, so much smoke people may swear something was on fire. It began to take a solid form, growing long and wide until an ashen dragon was formed from it. The beast's eyes crackled with dark power, electricity and ash exhuding from its cracked scales as the beast landed before Kalira, growling deeply.

Kalira came up from her nap with a roar of anger, rolling to one side as she gained her feet and spread her wings to threaten the intruder. It didn't help much that he'd gotten between her and the exit, effectively trapping her inside the cave for the moment.

She didn't ask him what he wanted, didn't waste the words. She simply assumed he wanted what most males did and was determined to fight him off, as she had all others.

So she moved in on the attack, wings batting at his head, claws slashing at him, sharp teeth biting at his neck as she tried to force him away from the cave opening.

One might gather that she woke up in a bad mood...

The dragon let out a pained roar as Kalira attacked, backing away a little in recoil. However, its size and strength was more than a match, and it charged forward towards the back wall, dragging Kalira with him. Turning a little to the side, he launched himself to the wall, body slamming the other dragon into the hard stone with his full weight behind him to make her loosen her jaws and wings from his body. He backed up a little and kept ramming her into the stone, giving her little to no reprieve from his brutal physical assault.

Kalira let out a pained roar as she was slammed into the wall repeatedly until she could duck away from him and head for the cave entrance, knowing he wouldn't be able to beat her in the air. As she moved past him, her tail lashed at his legs, hitting him with her lethal spikes to give her a bit more of a chance to get outside and into the air.

She knew flying was going to be a b***h with her broken ribs but she'd do it anyway so she could eliminate the b*****d...

The dragon watched her go, almost unfazed by her attack. It chuckled before taking off after Kalira, displaying unnatural speed for such a large size. Any time it looked like it would catch her, the dragon eased back a little and trailed behind. The beast was toying with her, content on wearing her out before going in for the final kill. " Run little lizard! A pity you can't escape your fate!" He shouted, laughing the entire flight.

Kalira knew he was toying with her, drawing this out for the sadistic pleasure of it. So she did something that seemed desperate and insane. She tilted her wings so they caught the air hard and brought her to a stop in midair, letting her tail point down and her face straight up.

She hung there for a brief moment as he flew right past her, then tilted her wings just right and began a spiral reverse dive, falling tail first towards the ground as she spun faster and faster.

It hurt like hell, drove the air from her lungs and sent a few shards of broken rib bone shifting inside of her. But it wasn't something he'd have expected her to do.

The dragon flew right past her, yet as she dove away her persuer dissolved into a cloud of ash to follow her on the dime. The smoke redirected itself in her direction and reformed, the dragon flapping his powerful wings and using his weight to gain speed after Kalira. Within moments he was behind her, and his wings pressed against himself so he could just get in grabbing distance. He first grabbed her tail, and yanked her up so he could get her claws on her. They dug into her to keep her close, and soon Kalira was beneath him as they landed on the stone ground, his weight crushing her bones with a horrendous growl.

Kalira had roared in pain when he sank his claws into her. And as they hit the ground, she gave one more feeble attempt to move. But he'd driven bone shards right through her heart and ruptured just about every organ inside of her as well as shattering most of her bones with the force of the landing.

She managed one more glare at him then her fiery eyes closed and she gave one last sigh as she died, her body giving up in that final moment....

Linah exhaled slowly smoke curling out of her nose before she witnessed the end of what seemed to be a death brawl. She winced somewhat clicking her teeth together. Oh dear...a sad look came to her eyes, she puffed a few clouds of smoke out as fire spewed from her mouth for a moment in the release of some energy before she turned and went deeply into her cave. Her first day had not gone so well..and there was wondering thoughts coming to mind as if to ask if things were survivable here or not. A temptation to go back into sleep flitted across her mind but disappeared just as fast as it did. She thumped her tail against the ground before peeking her head out of her cave to check out the surroundings. She was waiting for things to calm down before she could finally come out and sit on her ledge again sunning herself. After a while Linah grew tired of staying in the same place and rose from her ledge before taking to the air to go have a looksie at the other places to explore in the Draconic Isles. There was much she needed to see before she could begin her new life here and the best way to do that was to go exploring!
