1. Follow Gaia ToS and Rules as well as Our Village Guild Rules. This includes absolutely no cybering here or invitations to cyber elsewhere.
2. No excessive gore or violence, no godmodding or autohitting. Never control another player's character without prior written permission.
3. Do not post in threads until you have read the first several posts to be sure you know how to post in a way that will be welcome there.
4. Please thoroughly read and carefully follow the rules of any thread in which you post.
5. When making your thread in this forum, please be sure your title contains [OPEN] if you are accepting new players, or [CLOSED] if you are not.
6. Feel free to use this rating system: , [B], [C] or [E]
- for Simple:
* Open role play, no application required
* No scripted events, simple setting
* No timing requirement, just post as often or as rarely as you like
* Minimal posting requirement, no post style needed
* Simple posts, simple dialog, simple plot if any
[B] for Basic:
* Characters are generally accepted by GM before playing, but not always.
* Some detail given in events and setting
* Players expected to provide some details about their characters
* Post at least once every so many days or weeks
* 2 or more sentences per post minimum posting requirement
* Limited post styles encouraged (an image and/or border, colored coded)
[C] for Complex:
* Characters must be pre-approved by GM, usually via PM or OOC thread
* Complex story lines given in events and setting(s)
* Players expected to provide complex descriptions of their characters
* Post at least once a week
* 2 or more paragraphs per post minimum posting requirement
* Complex post styles encouraged (images, favorite saying, important details, or whatever)
[E] for Elaborate
* Characters have detailed back stories and profiles pre-approved by GM.
* Expect long story-arcs with complex plot twists and multiple settings.
* Players advance the story with each post in descriptive prose every few days.
* The minimum posting requirement is three or more paragraphs per post.
* Complex post styles are encouraged (images, important details and relationships, or whatever).
7. The first few posts of your thread should include the above information as well as the process by which you accept new players and any special rules for your role play. See our list of Resources in the next post for more hints to make a good role play thread.
8. Feel free to contact a crew member if you need a post deleted from your thread or have a problem you need help resolving.
