Jala was the type who couldn't sit still, who wouldn't sit still, and she found herself itching to do stuff once again. Harassing students, while fun, tended to be rather boring when the other party didn't have drastic reactions, and more than often, they tended to not care. Or, they were complete wusses, and picking on them was too easy. It might have been fun for a bit while they cried, but when that was all they did, it got kinda bored. It was only fun when they sought revenge, or tried to get even.
And so, Jala found herself in the gym, wondering if she could pick some fights here. She wasn't malicious for absolutely no reason, but in the same way where predator's fangs dulled when they didn't put it to use, she too found a need to get about and moving, and more than anything, test her strength.

Only a little over a year ago, Clara had been a newly-enrolled student, walking through the entrance of Amityville Academy. After attending classes, meeting interesting students, and having some really weird dreams, here she was, a second year student, currently walking to the gym. Clara was kind of curious how much she’d changed since first arriving – she knew her social abilities had improved to the point that she’d even made a few friends and her “anger management issues” (to sum it up, if it could be called that) had also gotten better, but she also wanted to see if she’d gotten any better at fighting.

Jala smiled as she watched the other ghoul take a ready stance, barely pulling out of the way as the tigress aimed at her throat.
Straight for the kill, huh? That's right, in a real fight, holding back would ensure defeat.
The chimera grinned, adrenaline rushing from the excitement. Finally, things were getting serious.
"Good to see you're not holding back, hun."
Of course, that didn't mean she was going to let the ghoul have all the fun, no.
Claws extended, Jala slashed back, aiming for Clara's collarbone.

Perhaps other students might have been shaken, but not Jala. If anything, she was excited to see Clara treating this as if it were a life-or-death battle, not that... death really mattered much for them, but dissipation was never pleasant. And while she usually made quippy remarks to either tease or unnerve her opponents, she appreciate the fact the ghoul was so focused, and decided to keep silent. Also, she needed the concentration to avoid Clara's blows. Fighting an upper year meant she couldn't be as lax as she usually was, and needed to concentrate, or else she'd be the one biting the dust.
The tigress' claws managed to nick her side, and she winced slightly, pulling back to recompose herself before swinging back again.

While Clara might not have thought herself strong, Jala would have told her she was. Well, she was fighting an upper year, so of course, they'd have to be a bit stronger. Or at least, she didn't expect anything less, and it made Jala excited. After all... the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
As it was, it didn't take too much effort to dodge Clara's next attack.
While she wasn't extremely short, being only 5"4' meant she wasn't really among the tall students, what with those towering at 6-7 feet. Still, smaller was never a disadvantage, and instead of battle of power, it was one of speed, though, in terms of speed, Clara was a bit faster, and so her swipe fell short.
