05/01/2017 - I Can Cap Them All

Sorting is now open! All first years who are currently Pending may make a post their including their personality! Once you've been quoted by a VC posting the Sorting Hat, you may add your house to your profile and change your title to "~ Pending *House Added*. You may NOT accept yourself.

Once you're sorted, feel free to make friends in your house.

The Sorting will be open until the 11:59 CST on the 7th. If you haven't finished your student, please do so before Sorting ends to be sorted. If you have joined after the 1st, you may make a student, but they will be counted toward the next school year.

Remember to tell the sorting hat that his song was quite lovely. He worked very hard on it.

05/06/2017 - Mind Your Head

Last minute reminder to all members that if you have a first year, you need to post them in the Sorting Hat thread in order for them to participate in the school year. Failure to post your student for sorting will result in their profile being moved to the Whomping Willow once the sorting is over.

In case you missed it, Quidditch tryouts are officially underway! Grab a broom and head out to the pitch for a spot on your house team! First years are welcome to tryout, though they must use a school broom.

Anything is a UFO if you're bad enough at identifying things.
But this is Quidditch, so it's probably a Bludger.

7/9/17 – Kicking the bucket


Time to choose your class electives! The 2037-2038 Class List will soon be copied to a new "Tab" to be used for future reference.

Currently Accepted students. This is really important. Please update for the new year and change the number in your title "~ Accepted (#)" to your current year as well as all appropriate sections. Please include "Updated" in the title if you edit anything other than age/year within your profile. Due by July 25th. If you do not update, the Student Profile Manager will assume inactivity and move the profile to the Whomping Willow. (Cara MiaKitty is now currently the Student Manager, if you failed to update and wish to retrieve your profile from the Whomping Willow, PM Cara MiaKitty)

Note that if your student is an entering first year whose title is "Pending", you do not need to do anything. But you can pop over to our Ministry of Magic guild to go school shopping in Diagon Alley!

P.S. If you haven't already heard, Photobucket has begun charging $400 to use their site. Consider one of these alternatives instead: Village.Photos, Imgur, Flickr, or 500px.

08/08/2017 - Your House Wants YOU (for the Quidditch team)

Sorting has been closed for the school year! All first year students have until the 15th of this month to add their house to their profile. Failure to add it will result in your profile being moved to the Whomping Willow. Please add your house and add "House Added" to your profile's thread title so it can be accepted by the Student Profiles Manager. Do not mark your profile as "Accepted."

Quidditch tryouts are now underway! If you're interested and haven't already, please come try out for your house team! First year students are permitted to play but must use school issued brooms. You can find important information on how to play here and here. Tryouts will be starting very soon, so hurry up, or you'll be late!

If you get lost on the way to class, ask a portrait or a ghost.

10/01/2017 - Summer Homework Assignments Suck

Third Years and up! Now's the time to send in your elective requests for the next school year! Feel free to use the elective list from last year as a reference to remember which classes to sign up for. Second Year students are also eligible to sign up for Advanced Flying I.

Currently Accepted Students: You have until October 15th to update your students for next year! Any student not updated by the 15th will be removed to the Whomping Willow. Students must be re-accepted by the start of the new school year to be posted. There has also been a slight skeleton and policy update - students who are granted the prefect or Head titles must include this information in their profiles. There is also an optional section for extracurriculars such as Quidditch and clubs! If you are using either of the guild-provided skeletons, you can find these sections in the thread with them.

There is also a new thread detailing information on how updating students works, please read it and be sure to follow its guidelines in the future.

04/29/2018 - Shows up late to the party with Butterbeer

Third years and up! If you have not already sent in your Class Electives please do so now! And don't forget that second year students may also sign up to take Advanced Flying. The Class List has been updated; remember, the old elective list will now be saved on a separate page inside of the Official Class List located under the &Last Year's Class List& tab found at the bottom of the page. This way, it can be used as reference by all members at any time.

Also, if you have not updated your characters for the new year, please do so now! If you cannot find them, then they are located under the Whomping Willow subforum and you will have to update your characters before PMing the link to Cara MiaKitty. Updates should be completed by the 15th of May.

First years! You must be marked Pending before you can post! If you don't have a student yet, and wish to be in this school year, they must be created and marked pending before the sorting ends. If you join the guild after the 31st, you will be enrolled in the August-September school year instead. If your first year is currently pending, you may post them completing the journey from Hogsmeade Station to the Great Hall for the Sorting Ceremony.

05/16/2018 - FOOOOOOOOD FIIIIIIIIGHT

I've always wanted to say that!

That's right, everybody, as of right now there is a food fight taking place in the Great Hall! Everyone is free to participate, and you may post in the main Great Hall thread, or at any of the house tables.

Things to know include:
- The fight began at the Hufflepuff table
- It is currently lunchtime, presumably sometime in late September
- You will absolutely get in trouble for this

Anyone who doesn't want to suffer the consequences of their actions is free to either not post, or to flee the ongoing fight with a condescending look on their face. Anyone who is totally fine with suffering the consequences of their actions should start lobbing mashed potatoes at their best friend.
