The Story

The Earth has seen great technological advances in the last century. And it seems that with every passing year our presence becomes even larger on the internet. Unknown to humans however another dimension has been forged into existence. The Digital World is a dimension fully effected by the actions of humans on the internet. As programs are created, digital creatures are born into existence. They the physical manifestation of the coding. As the programs get upgraded the digital creatures themselves evolve and change also. In some cases a base program is modified multiple times resulting in similar creatures which share a base existence, but have some differences in functionality. Smaller programs may be represented as a single fresh level Digimon, with all of their coding stored in that single entity. But larger programs and networks split up their coding and information between tens of mega level Digimon. So as the Internet develops, more creatures of various types are created, and still others evolve into new creatures.

The other dimension, known as the Digital World by its inhabitants has not been entered by any humans, and no humans are yet aware of their effect on the other dimension. However as the Internet expands and develops, s do cyber threats. A group known as 'The Codex' has risen on the internet and has been developing a program which will take over high security infrastructure points in the real world. From the networks controlling stock exchanges to the programs which direct the flow of water from various dams this program infiltrates and dominates vulnerable sections of data. In the real world these happenings seem like a high level hack, infiltrating back doors and hijacking control of systems. In the digital world however a new form of creature has been slowly growing and spreading, massacring hundreds digimon in order to steal their data codes.

Yggdrasil has seen the threat of this new program after its initial attack where the hackers destroyed firewalls protecting credit card information for a large supermarket store system. The poor low level Digimon caught up in the attack by the new creatures in the digital world were caught totally unaware and without protection. To combat this the god entity Digimon gathered a council of powerful Digimon and decided together to bring a few humans into the world so that they could wage the war against the cyber terrorism from both sides. The Real world, and the Digital world. We, The Dean and I, were chosen to enter the digital world where we received our mission. To gather a group of children chosen by Yggdrasil, and teach them how to fight in both worlds.

We have found these Special Heroes.

This is the beginning of a new digital saga.
