Once Upon A Time...
~*~*~
It would be a lie to say that things were once peaceful in the world of Eden. After all, for as long as eiter could remember, monsters and men have always viciously fought to own and keep whatever prizes they could from one another. There was this palpable, mutual envy - but never had it been so terrible as it was at the dawn of the Barren Age. Crops refused to grow for man or monster. Fewer and fewer children were being born. Political instability in what few orderly communities there were ravaged what was left of the land, leaving life miserable for nearly everyone. In short, it was a hopeless time.
...
That is, until the grand Oracles - Isobel for humanity and Cain for monsterkind - each gave a similar prophesy unto their respective people. In this era, a supremely fertile woman shall be born and bring prosperity unto all. Cain predicted that she would be a glorious mother, one fit to birth an army to overtake the human lands once and for all. Isobel predicted her to be a saint, a generous soul whose sacrifice shall appease the gods and bring wealth and livelihood back to the lands once more.

Rules and Guidelines
~*~*~
1. This is but an obligatory mention, as most of you guys kick a**, but keep in mind Gaia's ToS. Adult implications are okay, like timeskips just before two characters are implied to have sex or something like that, but actual in-thread adult content isn't. Take it to the PMs or off-site.
2. Another obligatory mention, but don't be a d**k. More specifically, s**t like god-modding, maiming/killing another person's character without permission, spoiling plots by having your character know and/or do things they shouldn't just because YOU know them, ect. are all great ways to get blacklisted. You are a god-modder if you control another person's character without permission, play as an unjustifiably powerful character because GODS FORBID your character ever lose anything, one-hit-kill a character without the owner's permission nor giving anyone a chance to respond before the deed is done, so on and so forth. Essentially, it is making your character more god-like than they should be - which is not at all.
3. I advise you read the codex posts. It is not mandatory, but the less you've read of the codex the less informed your characters will be about their world as a whole. Not only that, but you are more likely to contradict previously established canon and end up making a fool of yourself. If you send me a character profile that contradicts canon, I will not accept it - no matter how otherwise awesome the character might be. You have been warned.
4. Nobody is going to take you seriously, nor reply to you, if your posts are in script-format versus paragraph style. In other words, write out your goddamn posts in complete sentences. I won't even require much, so long as you give enough for your fellow roleplayers to reply to. If you absolutely cannot muster up much, try for a minimum of three or four sentences. There is also no shame in asking your fellow roleplayers for help. I, personally, will be happy to brainstorm with you via PMs if you need it.
5. Because I've had this issue in the past, please remember that what happens between character does not denote a roleplayer's feelings for you in OOC. So, for example, just because your characters are dating does not mean that you and your fellow roleplayer are dating. If a character insults yours for whatever reason, it is not a personal attack - it is in-character conflict and you are a big baby for taking it personally.
6. You are not to post your profiles in thread - that clutters s**t up and makes them impossible to find later on. You are to send them to me via PM, after filling out the template provided within this thread. You are not to butcher my template by removing and adding categories as you see fit - if it's there, it is there for a reason. If something does not apply to your character, find some clever way to state as such - preferably in a complete sentence. I don't care what you title it, or if you title it at all.
7. Nobody likes a one-shot poster. If you have a reason as to why you cannot post at least once a week, let me know so we can write out your character - or if necessary within the given situation - find someone to play them until your return. If you have massive writer's block but still wish to be a part of the roleplay, let us know - someone will be willing to brainstorm with you and help however they can. Even if it's just me, you will always have someone you can turn to for help. If you absolutely disappear and cannot be contacted, depending on how important your character was to the story at the time, you will either be written out or your character will be given to someone else until you return.
8. If you feel you are ignored, or are having issues getting yourself in, let me know. I have said this before and I will say it again: I will help you. If you are no longer interested in the roleplay, let me know so we can handle it. If you are not interested in joining, period, then don't join. No one is going to hold it against you.
9. As the moderator and creator of this roleplay, I invoke the right to do as I see fit with it. Furthermore, I invoke the right to final say in all OOC conflicts within this roleplay. I am not a tyrant, nor am I cruel, but I will not put up with any bullshit. I might or might not recruit some right-hand men/women/friends to help moderate this roleplay - both in story and out. I may also add more rules as they become necessary, but if everything goes as smoothly as I believe it will, that shouldn't become an issue.
10. Have fun! That's what we're all here for, right?

Humans - Characters
Name: The Ivory Knight, although they sometimes go by 'Ivory' for short. Race: Human Career: Vigilante Portfolio: In talent, one could aptly describe Ivory as less a knight and more a jack of all trades. Practiced well in white magic, rapier-style swordsmanship, and a bard's innate sense for lore, it is clear that The Knight can play several different roles within an adventuring group. They've made something of a reputation for theirself by doing what odd jobs real knights and lawmen cannot, like bringing petty thieves to justice or rescuing poor damsels. Ivory is not well liked amongst guardsmen, as they act outside the law and oftentimes break it in order to do what they deem as "good". Furthermore, it's rumored that Ivory is indiscriminate in who they protect - aiding both monster and man alike as the mood suits them. History: The Ivory Knight is a lively individual with a strong sense of flair and showmanship. A sense of flair, showmanship, and putting their nose where they shouldn't would be more accurate. Ivory has built up a small notoriety amongst humans and fringe-living monsters as a nosey do-gooder, interfering in matters they shouldn't and "acting as the shield for common man, as no one else will". For those that personally know Ivory, there is some confusion about their gender - as they could honestly pass for either yet refuse to be labled as 'man' or 'woman' - but instead as a 'person' or a 'knight'. Whatever their goals are for disregarding the authority of both king and church, whatever their reasons for travelling and doing as they do, no one is entirely certain. Hell, even Ivory's personal past beyond their vigilantism remains a mystery. Likes: Beauty, Dramatics, Attention, Freedom, "Justice", Adventure Stories, History Books Dislikes: Dogma, "Injustice", Extensive Silence, Loneliness, Disregard For Personal Liberty, Being Touched Preference: Ivory is oftentimes a shameless flirt, usually indiscriminate in whom they flirt with. So, in short, they have no preference in the sense that they would be happy in taking a partner of either sex. Creator: Animeprincess_9400 Player: Animeprincess_9400, the creator.Author's Preferences: Eventually, if the story and situation suits it, I would like to see Ivory end up in a chaste romance. I would also love the chance to show who they are behind the face of a heroic vigilante, but whether or not that happens ultimately depends on what happens throughout the roleplay. Permission: I give permission for Ivory to be drawn in RP fanart or written about as others might wish, but unless I say otherwise during the course of the roleplay, nobody will be playing them but me.
Name: Shayna Abigail Snow Race: Human Career: Assassin Portfolio: Is able to come and go from any building as she pleases (Being sneaky and stealthy), Has assassinated five different monsters from five different races/species History: Shayna was born to a wealthier farm family. Her parents had tried for years to have a child. And as her mother died, Shayna was born. Her father owned and produced from several large farms. And in the beginning, she even helped on the farms. But when Shayna turned 14, her home was attacked by monsters. Her father and other family members killed. All the women in the village were captured, including herself. That night, before she could be raped or whatever you would call it, she was able to get the monster drunk... And thus... Killed the poor creature and escaped with her life. After being freed from that awful encounter, Shayna wouldn't work as a floozy or courtesan. She became a mercenary, an Assassin of sorts. That way she could live. And stay pure. Likes: Arts, clothing, silence Dislikes: Being an Assassin, Being Alone, sexist pigs Preference: She is straight, but she is very unlikely able to love. Creator: shabatha Player: shabatha (The Creator) Author's Preferences: Well, I'd like to see her loosen up and her help those in need. Not just for money Permission: Absolutely as long as they stick to her personality
Name: Kaelthas Race: Human Career: Arcane Archer Portfolio: Easily able take out an entire flank of warriors or a camp of monsters on his own. His skills as an arcane archer have brought him the bane of many an enemy and monster. Has killed several camps of beastmen during his life. History: Once a soldier who brought death upon anyone who he was ordered to kill. Kaelthas was a member of the army that were given direct orders from the oracles underling. A rather violent job that many times found him killing off anyone who got on the wrong side of their grace. A job he did without question or difficulty until he saw the death he caused first hand during the destruction of a monster camp that had made it's presence far to known to a nearby by human settlement and was, with help from him, wiped from existence. Wiping thru the remains for the first time he saw first hands the actions his magic had taken killing off a group of monsters who were in all respects no different from the human's who they neighbored. Having separated himself from the army and taken into seclusion in the forests as remorse for his lifestyle till then it was there he came across Rake. Only newly born the mother killed likely by a group of monster haters and the father hung from a tree nearby, Kaelthas in some way felt compelled to care for the child. Whether it was an attempt to atone for the blood on his hands or some other reason he vary rarely speaks now of the past that plagues and haunts his dreams still. Likes: Relaxing under a tree when the sun is trickling thru it's leaves, The sound of the cicada's on a summer day, Rake but don't let that child know it as it would probably go to his head. Dislikes: Anyone that has the gall to speak ill of Rake, Being forced to take a life anymore, Being hungry. Preference: Heterosexual but no one has yet caught his eye. Creator: Shiningdragon21 Player: Shiningdragon21Author's Preferences: I don't really have any preference. Just be a part of what ever group gets made. Hopefully with some tension between himself and his partner Rake (Soon to be coming). Due to Rake being a Monster. Permission: I don't give permission for anyone else to play as my character as I have likely more free time then anyone on this site to post. O.O
Name: Eureka Race: Human Career: Ranger Portfolio: Having wandered the country for quite awhile, Eureka is quite adept to surviving in many environments. Her tongue is sly, but doesn’t speak much when with her brother. Though she is knowledgeable and experienced as a ranger, she tends to keep on the safe side. She and her brother have no real aims other than wander, but take up odd jobs or mercenary work when in need for money. Her trade as a ranger has trained her to be quite kept to the shadows and quite agile. She tends to avoid the killing of monsters, but will do so if threatened. Eureka’s equip-able items as of now is a steel whip and slightly enchanted arm guards in which she relies heavily on for defensive tactics. She also wears a dark, hooded cloak on her almost all the time to disguise her gender as a woman. Being in this day and age, being a woman means being either kidnapped, raped, or being treated like some kind of object that needs to be protected from monsters. History: Eureka and her brother were born to a tailor and a dancer. It is said that their father is distantly related to a prophetess, but Eureka had never gotten around to confirm that. Their father, in particular, was born with magical prowess and weaved one of the best magical clothing in their province. When he scored their mother, she too settled to weave clothing and learned the trade of magical weaving as well. By the time that Eureka and her brother Izana were twelve, they could already weave like their parents. However, they envisioned a life beyond that and often got into trouble within their village. Inspired by the knights and other vigilantes who patrolled their village from monster raids, Eureka and her brother left to the north to join the Rangers of the North. There, they became young apprentices until they were old enough to go through a right of passage. Both Eureka and her brother now wander the lands of Eden. Her alliance and loyalty are questionable when it comes to whether it benefits her or not. Likes: Hunting, folklore and mythology, the outdoors Dislikes: Discrimination, being treated as dainty, disregard for her opinion Preference: Disinterested, but doesn’t mind non-committing relationships Creator: Greedy Fat Cat Player: Greedy Fat Cat Author's Preferences: I don’t have too many ideas as of right now, other than to be able to really bring out my comedic duo’s personalities and relationship dynamics. I would love to show off their prowess while also being the ‘comedic relief’ of the rp. Permission: I allow permission for someone to use my characters in my absence. I’ll allow everything as long as it is fitting within my character’s idea/personality/virtue.
Name: Izana Race: Human Career: Ranger Portfolio: The more talkative of the brother-sister duo, Izana’s skills lie in swordsmanship and archery. Being quite practiced as a ranger, his wilderness skills are great. Izana considers nature to be the only home for him and often chooses to sleep outside. In addition to being a ranger, which is a rather ambiguous profession as it is, he and his sister take up small quests or mercenary work for money. He defies authority, as it is in his nature, and for that much, anyone that doesn’t benefit him in some way. Many call this selfishness, but Izana considers it a way of life; especially so when living on his own with his sister for more than half their lives. His equipped items include his bow and arrows as well as a long sword. But since his archery skills are more involved in hunting than in fighting, only his swordsmanship is useful in combat. History: Izana and his sister, who both trained together as rangers, have built quite a repertoire along the coasts as a dynamic duo. Their lifestyle is versatile, adaptive, and free. To think the pair was born to a tailor and a former dancer. But along with this lifestyle comes many dangers. To survive the terrain, his experience in hunting and wilderness training is great. Equally as important and just as notable to Izana’s character is his cunning yet charming tongue. He is mischievous when left to his own devices to get what he wants, often disliked by serious-minded people. Izana and his sister Eureka have heard the prophesies of Cain and Isobel and are currently on a vague search to learn all about The Eve. Their main drive: mere curiosity. Likes: Liquor when available, free things, hunting, the outdoors, and any type of artform Dislikes: His sister at times, strict laws or strictness in general, being hungry, and being stuck in the rain Preference: Izana likes the wife-like types but often gets caught up in brothels. Creator: Greedy Fat Cat Player: Greedy Fat Cat Author's Preferences: I just want my characters involved in drama. I love that stuff. Maybe Izana could lose an eye? Or an arm? Whatever floats my boat really. Permission: I give permission to anything as long as it is within my characters’ boundaries. I would like to be notified first of anything involving my character. though.

Monsters - Characters
He has a much more larger and muscular werewolf form than this picture leads on Name: Kahrel Race: Werewolf Career: Freelancer Portfolio: A youthful and renegade spirit, Kahrel had pillaged only a few villages before he had left his pack. Being the omega of his original pack, he had little to celebrate, much less obtaining a human female for himself, in regards to his freedom within the pack. Like most male wolves, in which either resort to a human appearance and assimilate with humans or like-minded monsters or resort to find other wolves to cooperate and build a pack, Kahrel chose the latter. However currently, he is a lone wolf in a sense. He is unused to living a human lifestyle, but will turn shift into a humanoid form when he deems it advantageous. History: Kahrel was born into the forty-second litter of his pack. His pack was notorious throughout the eastern region for kidnapping human females for breeding. Due to the reproductive difficulties in this age, the entire litter was male. And without all the necessary nursing, much of the litter died off, leaving Kahrel to be one the youngest of his original pack. However, with all the beta wolves being much older than he, Kahrel was ranked as an omega or lower-ranked wolf and thus did not enjoy all the freedoms that higher-ranked wolves did. When he came of age and grew tired to reaping the least benefits, he lefts his origins for a freer life. However, with it being so difficult to one, obtain a pack, much less two, reproduce, Kahrel has difficulties in finding fellow wolves. He’s a lone wolf as of right now and dreams of thriving within a pack. He also dreams of reproducing, but being with a human female as of right now is not really his aims for the time being. Likes: Being naked, having food, sleeping in the sun, being around company, and running Dislikes: Not knowing how to act “human”, especially around human females for that matter, being treated as insignificant or inexperienced, and particular scents that are unappealing Preference: Experiencing romance and interacting with females is new to him. He wishes to explore and encounter all sorts of things, which may or may not mean he is looking for a mate. Creator: Greedy Fat Cat Player: Greedy Fat Cat Author's Preferences: I want Kahrel to experience as much as he can within the rp and learn from a great deal of others. I also, ideally want him to be treated not so much as a threat but more like a bumbling pup. I know that monsters are regarded as hated things, so this may not be guaranteed but that is okay. Permission: I’ll give permission for everything as long as it is within my character’s boundaries and if I am notified beforehand about it.
Name: Rake Race: Weretiger Career: Berserker Portfolio: While he currently has no real accomplishments to speak of. His skill and the power he can put behind the b*****d sword he carries is enough to even cause a feeling of fear from even other beastmen. History: The offspring of a family left murdered in the forest that housed Kaelthas. Rake was saved from what would have likely been death for the young cub. Brought back to his abode he was since after raised by the Human. In their time together Rake has come to look at Kaelthas as a father or atleast someone who takes upon the role tho he knows the man not to be. His life with him has been for the most part uneventful taken up mostly with training, chores, hunting, or other of lifes small problems. Likes: Meat of any kinds, The feeling of rushing thru the forest on a summer's day, and when all be it seldom Kaelthas plays the instrument he keeps tucked under his cloak. Dislikes: The smell of other Beastmen, Someone taking his food, and anyone who talks down to Kaelthas Preference: Straight but is not really looking. . Creator: Shiningdragon21 Player: Shiningdragon21
Author's Preferences: While I don't really have a preference I would like for someone in the party to make an insult or something towards rake that causes a in party fight to happen with Rake and Kael vs. Who ever made the insult. Permission: Do you give permission for your character to be played by someone else in your absense? If so, what is a temporary replacement player allowed and not allowed to do with your character? Do you give permission for other roleplayers to draw your character or write short stories with them in it?

Codex: Humanity
Topic: Oracles The Oracles are divinely blessed individuals who are supposedly able to hear the voice of the gods, who might see glimpses into the future and with it guide their people onto the right path. They are essentially the de-facto leaders of their respective temples, but as they are of a divine bloodline and not necessarilly royal, they still must ultimately answer to the nobles' and kings' authority. That said, nobles and kings generally know better than to push their luck in opposing an Oracle.
Topic: The First Eve The First Eve is the fertile woman mentioned in Isobel's and Cain's prophesies. No one is sure what her name is, what she looks like, or her personal character - or lack thereof. All anyone knows is that she is supposed to be innately fertile. Whether this means her presence can increase the fertility of the land and people around her, or if she is simply better capable of bearing children than most, no one is certain.
Topic: Sacrifice In many human settlements, human sacrifice during religious rituals is a norm - although it is being practiced significantly less than it was in prior years due to the severely shortened population. Some particularly anti-monster communities have begun hunting local monsters to be sacrificed instead, but there is plenty of controversy about it due to some believing monsters to be too filthy a gift for the gods.

Codex: Monsterkind
Topic: Masculinity For reasons long lost to the sands of time, all monsters are biologically male. As there are no female monsters, they naturally need to reproduce with human partners/wives. Due to their strained relations with human settlements, obtaining a bride - let alone a harem - is surprisingly uncommon. When it does happen, it was most likely from an abduction or raid. Hence, one of the reasons why monsters are dying off - and why they are as a whole desperate to find the First Eve. In many monster settlements, it can be safely said that the majority of their youth have never seen a woman in their entire life. Also, despite surprisingly common belief, the child of a monster and a human is always the species of their same-sex parent - although 99% of the time this means that a monster is born between them.
~*~*~
Species: Lycanthrope Race: Weretigers Diet:Omnivorous, Prefers red meat Courtship:Mates are usually kidnapped during raids on human villages or captured when straying to close to a camp. While fear is at first used to dissuade the mates from escape, they are very very rarely ever harmed by the captor. While primitive compared to many human villages, captors will try to provide for any of the needs of a mate as long as she is cooperative in return. While no real customs for captor and mate have been observed. It is evident that once a male claims a female he will protect her and fend off any attempts from other males with violence. With pregnancy the camp elder assists in the birthing process and many of the camps older residents assist with child rearing. Abilities: Relatively patient and interested in exploiting every advantage they can find, Fangs, Claws, and Agility of their animal counterpart. Weaknesses: Over estimation of their abilities, Extreme difficulty to cope with drastic environmental changes, Aside from some camps that have come together. Many of the species is solitary until finding a mate. Enviornment: In or around forests and snow peaked mountains. Appearance: Examples (White Fur, Orange Fur). Fur color, Fur length, Eye color, Ear shape and tail size/thickness all vary depending on the region that has been adapted to. Contributor: Shinigdragon21

Codex: Known Careers
Topic: Vigilante A vigilante can be an individual of any given skill or career type, but they are most often informally trained people who have learned what talents they have on their own. They are quite uncommon, as the law discourages vigilantism and most prefer to do what they can for themselves and possibly their families to get by. Vigilantes can be considered a polarizing topic, as there are just as many people in Eden who hate them as there are who love them.
Topic: Assassin The Assassin is a a murderer of an important person in a surprise attack for political or religious reasons. They can also be called Mercenaries, but they specialize in killing a specific target or group.
Topic:Arcane Archer Arcane archers are masters of ranged combat, as they possess the ability to strike at targets with unerring accuracy and can imbue their arrows with powerful spells. Arrows fired by arcane archers fly at weird and uncanny angles to strike at foes around corners, and can pass through solid objects to hit enemies that cower behind such cover. At the height of their power, arcane archers can fell even the most powerful foes with a single, deadly shot.
Topic:Berserker For some, there is only rage. In the ways of their people, in the fury of their passion, in the howl of battle, conflict is all these brutal souls know. Savages, hired muscle, masters of vicious martial techniques, they are not soldiers or professional warriors—they are the battle possessed, creatures of slaughter and spirits of war. These warmongers know little of training, preparation, or the rules of warfare; for them, only the moment exists, with the foes that stand before them and the knowledge that the next moment might hold their death. They possess a sixth sense in regard to danger and the endurance to weather all that might entail.
