[PRP: Helena and Dismas] ...

Helena had long ago made a home for herself in an isolated, beautiful meadow. Her world consisted solely of tall grass, colorful wildflowers, a crystal clear lake, and enough surrounding wildlife to sustain a healthy diet. She rarely saw visitors, and often hid from them when she did. The shy vixen didn't particularly enjoy being alone, but had no way of communicating with others, and thus didn't often like to try.

Of course, this didn't always work. Now, weeks after a chance meeting with a sledfox, Helena found herself with two BCRs. She had to find their father. There were a number of reasons she was determined to do so. While Helena loved her children, she knew she couldn't raise both on her own. And frankly, she didn't want her kids to grow up as lonely as she was. She wanted them to be able to live with others, to make friends and communicate with them.

So she set off, having no idea where Dismas may be. All she knew was the path from which he entered her clearing and the way by which he left.

A sledfox paced. There had been one thing on his mind. He had met a vixen not to long ago. She couldn't talk and was rather shy. He would have easily forgotten her if it wasn't for a dream he had. He grumbled to no one in particular. Could his dream be true or was he just being paranoid. He stopped his pacing to see a clear line grooved into the ground. Perhaps a visit to the vixen would be in order. He would go see if it was true or not and he had a feeling the vixen did not get much company.

He remembered that she had lived in a clearing by herself. Luckily he remembered exactly where that was. He went out to find the vixen, hoping she hadn't left. If she had left perhaps he'd continue to be paranoid and track her down. One doesn't just let go a dream about being 'blessed' with BCRs.

A few days into her travels, Helena rested in the shade of a tall oak tree. She was curled up with the BCRs, drifting off into a light nap. Helena hadn't really realized how difficult travelling was, as she certainly wasn't used to it. She knew nothing of the surrounding area and thus feared straying too far away from her supply of fresh water and not knowing where to find food. Helena wasn't cut out for this, and doubts of ever finding that sledfox again filled her mind. She truly wanted to see him again and show him his children, but the world was vast and wholly unfamiliar. Even if she was capable of adapting to this more nomadic lifestyle, there was no guarantee that Helena and Dismas would ever meet again.

Helena awoke in the late afternoon. Disappointed in herself, she turned back towards home. She estimated that it would take another two days to return, but by the time those two days were over, absolutely nothing looked familiar to her. The vixen was completely lost. Everything was just forest in the surrounding areas, with no distinguishing features. She wasn't even beside a river anymore, having left it when she thought she was close enough to home. In need of rest, Helena curled up on the ground again, unsure of what she would do once she woke up.

With groans and grumbles Dismas continued to travel. He had a decent sense of direction and was pretty sure he was trudging in the right direction. Kids... That was all he can think about. It may not even be true! It was almost dark once he found himself next to an oak tree and bumped his head into it in frustration. Where was this girl at? While glaring at the grass he noticed it was flat. Like something or someone was laying there. He looked to where the prints were heading and it seemed they were going on the direction he was heading in anyway. So he might as well follow them.

He was about to give up on the trail. He had been following it for what seemed like forever when he saw a lump on the ground. He quietly crept closer to investigate and sighed in relief. He found the girl in her dreams and if they were more than a dream... than this vixen in front of him could be the mother of his children. He didn't see any sign of BCRs but then again he wasn't looking. The girl was out in the middle of the ground so he carefully curled around her. He would stay awake and keep guard.

The night had been cold but, all of a sudden, Helena didn't feel it anymore. She slept a little easier now and, when she finally awoke, the vixen was immediately startled by the source of her comfort. She jolted upright, but then realised who the newcomer was: Dismas. The fox she had been searching for had found her. Thank the Modideities.

Helena offered the sledfox a small smile in greeting. And then she offered him a look at the two BCRs. The little rings had been around her ankle, well-hidden while she was asleep. She slid them off now, and nudged them toward him.

Dismas became a little startled himself when she shot upright. Then was relieved once she realized it was him. He then saw what worried him the most. Two small BCR's being nudged toward him. A large lump formed in his throat. "Th-These are mine?" He stared at them. So his dream was right. He did have kids with the young girl. He gentle scooped them up and got a closer look at them. A girl and a boy. His heart sank and flew at the same time. They were his, and they were beautiful... but was Helena ready for this? He swallowed the hard lump in his throat. "They... they are beautiful..."
