Walking along the stepping stones~.
The streets of Doux become stone block sidewalks. The stones are cracked and
ridden with moss - mainly because of the fact that the district itself sits in the
shade. The air is sometimes referred to as "damp" or "moist" the deeper you go
into the shadows of the walk.

For probably twenty minutes, Cecil dashed through alleyways and back streets back into the Doux district. As he entered the damp, shaded area, he slowed to a stop. He wasn't that far from his apartment anymore, so he sat his bags down and returned to his original form. Although when he reached to pick them back up, he noticed the redhead from the store rushing towards him.

"Can I help you?"

XXXXXXXIt had been easy to follow after the white-haired male; a tiger carrying a bag of groceries wasn't an everyday sighting. Though, originally, she had expected to be following after a bird. In the end, however, things had managed to work themselves out and now Celest followed after the tiger whilst flying through the air. It was much more of a hassle than she could've imagined. The airways here weren't so clear as they were back home, and the fairy constantly found herself ducking and weaving through the many obstacles that presented themselves high enough to be a nuisance. "Honestly." she grumbled to herself, only after darting to the left to avoid making face-to-brick contact with a building.

Her attention returned to the ground, only to find panic setting in when she realized that she could no longer spot the tiger. "Damn." she landed onto the ground, brushing at her the hem of her dress in irritation. Her wings displayed such emotions and began to vibrate. Celest had very well started to pout until her lowered gaze landed on a familiar head of white hair. "Ah!" her eyes lit up and her wings slowed their motions. With a light squeal, the redhead skipped towards the male.

                                  "Can I help you?"

She nodded her head eagerly at his question, taking the time to set her groceries down and give her fingers the chance to loosen. "Bird-man!" she exclaimed, and a grin began to stretch across her face. "Tell me how you were able to turn into that bird, and then that tiger! Was it magic?" Celest took a few steps, leaning forward until her face was mere inches away from the stranger's. "You don't look too great to be able to use magic. But hey, what do I know? That useless looking lackey before turned out to be very helpful."

Cecil blinked a few times. "...Bird-Man?" He asked, raising a brow. "It's Cecil, not 'Bird-Man'. And I'm a polymorph, so I can morph into almost any living thing. Even..." For a moment his body morphed to that of the red-head's, but soon returned to his own. "...You. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must drop these off." Though he really wasn't in too much of a rush, he still had plenty of ground to cover of the city. So he picked his bags back up, and resumed down the path, soon coming up upon the apartment he called home.

A sad, low groan droned through the somewhat empty kitchen, where Trendon had collapsed at his dining table. He had a few bills gripped in one hand, his head face down on the table. He was so broke! It was pathetic! And so far, he hadn't been able to find a job. Admittedly, he hadn't really been looking, but... He sort of had! For like... half a day! Kind of! To be fair, he'd only been in the area for about three days, and he'd needed to unpack, and... settle in, and all that stuff. It was a totally valid excuse. Even if he had also gone out to eat every time, and perhaps not picked the cheapest or most cost effective places. Which was how he had about fifty dollars for food and other purchases, and that... that was it. If rent or something came around any time soon, he would be screwed.

"Uuuhhhggghhh..." He dragged himself upright, but didn't yet stand, staring dully straight ahead, before heaving a heavy sigh. His hair was not the right color for this. He should have been... brunette, or maybe redhead, even blond, to be this depressed. Why had he died his hair blue.... He shook his head. Right, because dying his hair was obviously the important matter here. He stood up, running a hand through his hair and ruffling it up. He yanked out his wallet, shoving his cash into the fold and tucking it back into his cargo pants pocket. Should probably keep it out of sight, out of mind, so that he didn't end up spending even more before he got himself a job. His place was furnished, it wasn't like he was living in a box (again...), but he was definitely in danger of running out of food and fundings if he wasn't careful. Best to put what little self control he had to work.

With tilt of his head he pushed off from the table, rubbing his neck and letting his fingers trail the surface as he walked around it, starting for the living room. He would definitely need to try and pick up some applications or something while he was out. Of course... that was probably all he should do, unless he was going to pick up some cheap groceries or something. Some very, very cheap groceries, considering how long it might take before he actually heard back from any of the places. Too bad he didn't have any friends to bum off of and 'borrow' their food....

He stepped out of his house a little later, mentally trying to go over what little geography he knew about this place. He locked the door, shoving his hands in his pockets as he started down the walkway to the streets of the housing district, looking up with some of his dark hair falling into his-- currently-- red eyes. Man, he hoped he didn't have to choose between living on the streets or going to his parents for money....

It was Adrian's first day off in a while, and Levi, driving to his brother's home, was determined to make sure the man had fun. Or well, what he considered fun, anyway. Adrian, on the other hand, was sitting at home dreading the arrival of his brother. He was sure that he would be forced into all sorts of ridiculous activities, and no doubt the day would end with them at a bar, or a club, or some other insufferable place.

When Levi pulled up, he put the vehicle in park but didn't shut it off. Instead of getting out, he merely pulled out his phone, shooting a quick text to Adrian. 'Here' was all it said. Still, it got the message across. The man sat in his car, leaning back comfortably and staring at the hood as he waited. After several long minutes, he heard the click of a door shutting, and looked up to see a blue-haired man locking his front door before turning to the street. Finally, he thought impatiently. Though he wasn't surprised his twin had taken this long to come out - it wasn't like he was completely unaware of Addy's lack of spirit. Rolling down the window, he called out, "Took you long enough, D! Hurry up, let's get this show on the..." Levi's voice trailed off, and he squinted. "...road," he finished softly, brain working furiously. That wasn't Adrian's door, it was the one adjacent. And that hair wasn't the right shade. And the build wasn't right. Who was that? And why did he look so familiar? It took a moment for the aged face to register in Levi's mind, but finally he made the connection.

"TREY!" Levi shouted, his loud, excited voice echoing down the street, causing passersby to turn. The driver's side door was open in a fraction of a second, and Levi flung himself out. In no time, he was sprinting toward his old friend, prepared to full-on tackle him in an embrace that might just knock them both to the floor. It had been years since they'd last seen each other, with Levi too lazy to keep in contact with any of his past acquaintances. And while he occasionally wondered what his high school buddy was up to these days, he'd never bothered to track him down and find out. So now, spotting him here of all places, coming out of the door right next to his brother's, with no warning whatsoever, Levi was ecstatic. And he certainly showed it.

Adrian, for his part, had taken his time in answering the text he'd received. There was time for a drink of water, right? He wouldn't want to go on this excursion of Levi's without adequate hydration, now would he? No, of course not. Heading into the kitchen, he grabbed a glass and filled it, drinking slowly. A breath of air escaped his lips when he finished, and he knew he could delay no longer. Levi would be getting impatient. He reached into his pocket to make sure he had all the essentials, although he already knew he did. Adrian was nothing if not prepared. Wallet? Check. Keys? Check. Wait. Not check. Where were his keys? He'd had them only a moment ago; there was a distinct memory of him placing them in his pocket. The next few minutes were spent searching the various places he'd been that morning. Bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, nothing. Finally he found them in the place he probably should have checked first: the couch where he'd been waiting for his brother. Well, at least he'd managed to stall a few more minutes.

The door had just been opened and he'd begun to step out when he heard Levi's voice bellowing from the street.
Trey? he questioned. Not high school Trey? It was indeed high school Trey, Adrian soon discovered as he watched his brother speed towards the man. Heartbeats quickened, and breathing ceased. The hell's he doing here? Adrian wondered, shell-shocked, choosing irritation over acknowledgement of his current immobility. Eight years later, he should not be having similar symptoms. Especially not after Joseph... He had no idea how to handle this situation. What were the odds of them seeing Trendon here? Slim to none. But here he was. Adrian couldn't move, he didn't know what to do, or what he would say when the man - now blue-haired as well - inevitably noticed his presence. Maybe he could go back inside, wait until he left again? No, Levi would undoubtedly get around to mentioning him eventually. But he couldn't walk out there. That was currently inconceivable. Instead, Adrian simply stood there, halfway out the door, stunned and silent.

Before Trendon could get very far-- or even to the sidewalk, really-- he heard someone talking. Honestly, he assumed it wasn't at him; he didn't know anyone in the area, and the comment didn't really make sense. Of course, that didn't stop him at all from looking over at the voice. It was close, and hey, it could be a neighbor or something. Even after being there three days, he hadn't actually met any of them. He really had spent the entire first day just trying to get things into the house with the help of the movers (unfortunately, none of his friends had volunteered to assist, being the silly, dedicated, employed people that they were), and the second day he'd been wiped, and had to try and unpack, and explore the area a bit in his search for food. And today he'd been finishing getting things slightly organized. There were still a few unpacked boxes in some closets, but.... eh.

As far as he was aware, he didn't have any housemates. There was another bedroom, and he knew that it was designed so that more than one person could live there, but from what he could tell, he had the place to himself, which was perfect. The houses were all pretty close to each other, though...

And he was getting totally off topic with his train of thought, because even though he had glanced over at the car the voice was calling from, there was a distinct delay in him recognizing what he was seeing, let alone who. In fact, though he'd been staring for about ten seconds, it wasn't until Levi shouted out his name that he blinked and seemed to wake up, recognizing his friend from highschool with a look of surprise.
"Levi!" he greeted back, but he was suddenly knocked off his feet, and before he could get out a false threat of killing him if his head hit the concrete, he felt himself (mostly) land hard on the grass. Good thing he was pretty sturdy.

"Holy--" He struggled a bit in his friend's grip, then managed to wiggle free a little, trying to throw his weight to flip them so he could shift to sit lightly on his friend's stomach, his feet firmly planted on the ground, one bent under him, the other with his knee up so he could rest his arm on it, a smile of disbelief clear on his face. "What are you doing here? I didn't know you lived in Soleil!" he remarked, beaming down at his friend. He shifted to stand up, offering a hand to help Levi. A curious expression crossed his face as something seemed to occur to him.

"Wait, did I hear you call out 'D' earlier? Is Adrian here?" he asked, that grin of his turning into a more mischievous smirk. Of course, he couldn't help but look around even as he said this, and just as the question passed his lips, his gaze settled on his friend's twin, the smirk turning into a smug, cat-like smile, then brightening to an 'innocent' grin. "Dee Dee! How nice to you. Don't I get a hug?" he asked, extending his arms in greeting, then bringing his hands to his chest with a 'dashing' (and far too obvious) look in his eye.

But hey, he couldn't go and leave Adrian all by himself. He might feel left out!

"Aaaahhhhhh!" Levi was basically squealing with excitement as he hit Trendon, both of them toppling over with a thud. The impact took the air right out of his lungs, and was probably the only thing capable of halting his screams. "Trey, it's you!" he gasped, voice incapable of settling into some semblance of normal pitch. He had vaguely registered Trendon's own call, which had washed away any doubts he might have had that this was, in fact, his friend from the earlier years of life. Without pause, Levi's shouts continued. "I can't believe you're here! Look at you! You're so old! You're here! I can't believe you're here!" So distracted and elated was he that he hardly even noticed his friend maneuvering out of his grip until they'd both been flipped. Levi was pinned, and under the circumstances, he didn't mind a bit.

Arms now flailing as he tried to express his enthusiasm, he continued, "This is insane! What am I doing here? What are you doing here? How long have you been here?" Without thinking, Levi took the proffered hand and stood, pausing only long enough to hear the question being asked. "Huh? Yeah, D's here too," Levi said pointlessly, for Trendon had already found him. "I swear, D, if he's been here all along and you never once noticed that he lived next door to you, I will murder you!" Though his words were addressed to his twin, Levi couldn't stop staring at the man next to him, practically dancing around him like a buffoon. At last, his brain registered what had tricked him into believing the man to be his brother in the first place. "Your hair is blue!" He reached out to grab the dyed locks and inspect them. "Oh my gosh, your hair is actually blue! D, look! Trey's a wannabe Kennedy! Oh my gosh I'm dying, your hair is blue!" He couldn't remember if it had ever been that shade in high school; if it had, he'd probably teased his friend mercilessly then, too.

Finally exhausted and out of breath from his nonstop chatter, Levi let out a huge, satisfied sigh and flopped heavily back into the grass. This was the most perfect day of all of the days, and he could die satisfied now. "I'm so happy," he said, his voice finally lowering to standard volume as he lay back and stretched his arms out above his head.

In the doorway, Adrian merely stared. He watched his brother tackle Trendon to the ground, watched him flip out without shutting up, watched Trendon turn the tables, now sitting on Levi's stomach, and watched him look around for him, all the while with his mind both racing furiously and getting nowhere at all. His mouth merely hung slightly open. What was he doing here? And did they just say the man was his neighbor? Oh heavens, kill me now, Adrian thought bleakly as he made the connection. Trendon was indeed on the walkway literally next to his own. Maybe he was visiting whoever lived there? No, nobody lived there. He must have moved in. Just shoot me and get it over with.

The man still hadn't budged when Trendon turned, his face forming one all to familiar. No. Get that face away from me. I want none of this. What did I do to deserve this? Adrian thought frantically, his eyes widening in fear. When he was addressed, however, his face fell flat and his mouth snapped shut. Oh hell. He was saved from responding immediately, however, by his brother's excited ramblings. Finally freed from his statue-like immobility, Adrian crossed his arms and waited.

When Levi had at last finished, Adrian spoke,
"No." Hugging the man was probably a bad idea. Besides, he already knew that Adrian wasn't inclined to go about hugging people. And he didn't want to get that close to him. Bad things could happen. "And yes, L, his hair is blue. Calm down," he added as he moved, walking at a diagonal between them and the car. He was closer to them, which should probably cover politeness, but not too close.

"You're such a buzzkill, you know that?" Levi said, propping himself up onto his elbows and glaring at his brother.
"Yes, I'm aware. It's good to see you, Trendon." Adrian gave the man a small smile, deciding that at this distance, that much was safe. It wasn't that Adrian didn't like Trendon - in fact, the opposite was true - but it was dangerous to allow that sort of emotion to show around him. The fool would notice, and he would take advantage of it. So instead, Adrian stood at a reasonable distance, arms still folded, quite the picture of hospitality (not).

Clearly, one twin was happier to see him than the other, but could Trendon expect anything different? No. Besides, he found Adrian's.... lack of enthusiasm, and Levi's purely ecstatic greeting, both incredibly amusing and refreshing. He chuckled at Levi's faux threat to his brother, ruffling up his hair and flashing the victimized brother a smirk. "Don't worry, he gets off the hook this time," he reassured Levi, though his eyes were on Adrian, "I only just moved in a few days ago, and it's not like I spent a lot of time in my front yard. And I haven't been able to start throwing parties yet."

After giving Adrian a playful grin, he prepared to turn his attention back to Levi, but before he could properly do so, hands were gripping at his hair.
"Ah, hey! You moron!" he laughed, bowing his head a bit so that his friend didn't end up tearing his locks out, "You wish I would join your little blue boy cult!" He grinned, reaching up to playfully shove his friend away and straighten up, running fingers back through his hair to try and fix it. He outright laughed when his friend flopped onto the grass, smirking down at him in amusement and shaking his head.

He looked back over at Adrian as he joined them (sort of), placing his hands casually into his pockets and tilting his head to the side.
"You say that, and yet, no hug. I'm getting mixed signals here Adrian," he said, then leaned forward, his grinning growing wolfishly, "What about a kiss?" He reigned himself into a smirk and straightened up, leaning back a bit and turning to look back down at Levi. "Seriously, though, Lev, what are you guys doing here? You aren't new too, are you?"

Oh, no. Parties now, too? Adrian thought with dread. He should have guessed, as soon as he saw the man, that his peaceful existence in this neighborhood had come to an end. When he was offered a kiss, the friendly smile that had temporarily graced his face disappeared in an instant, and he fought the rising red glow that threatened to light up his face like a sunset.
"As tempting as that is, I think I'll have to pass this time," Adrian said dryly in an attempt to ward attention away from himself. Fortunately, Levi came to his rescue (for once) by answering Trendon's query.

Still propped up on the ground, Levi had laughed at Trendon's "cult" response and his teasing of Adrian, but totally missed his brother's somewhat hidden reaction. If he'd seen, he probably wouldn't have let the subject go, but instead he simply answered his friend's most recent question. "Nah, we've been here almost- how long, D? Three years?" Glad to get the topic away from him, Adrian responded quickly,
"Yep, going on three." Levi straightened up a little more, paying attention to the conversation but too lazy to stand. "Almost three years now! Addy got a job here, and I followed him because-"

A sharp look from Adrian cut Levi short, and he changed direction without missing a beat. As teasing as he most often was, Levi did have some idea of where to draw the line. -"I couldn't bear to be too far away to annoy him on a regular basis. Plus it's a shorter commute to my own job. So it worked out!" Levi grinned at Trendon, and off to the side, Adrian let out a slight sigh of relief. He could ignore the hideous nickname, this time. "What about you, what brings you to the good ol' city of Soleil? Is it the weather? Because the weather is amazing." An ocean town, the weather pattern followed that of a typical southern beach, relatively balmy all year round. And while that might not at first seem like a valid reason to move, Levi had heard it talked about enough to not question anymore.

Darn, and he was so sure he almost had him... Okay, not really. "Oh, I wasn't offering," he replied smartly back to Adrian, "I was requesting. I'm sure you give great kisses..." A lascivious grin crossed his face, but lucky for Adrian, he seemed content to leave it there, and casually brought his attention back around to his friend laying on the grass. How could he go from sprinting over to tackle him, to just lounging around like that? Well, at least it didn't seem like he'd changed too much since highschool.

There was another smirking remark on the tip of his tongue when he noticed the subtle skip in Levi's speech, and he raised an eyebrow, glancing back at Adrian, but missing the look. That was odd... Oh well. Maybe just a stutter.
"Well I don't blame you!" he remarked, grinning, and then quickly, using long strides, making his way over to where Adrian was standing. "I mean he's just so fun to tease! Yes you are, yes you are!" he cooed, using a baby voice and a smug grin, reaching out to pinch the poor man's cheek. Just like old times!

"I moved here because why not? It was kind of close, there were availabilities, I figured it had to be a good tourist spot, which meant places might be hiring, and I may or may not have recently lost my job," he answered his friend, turning back to him and giving a sheepish grin with a shrug. He walked over, brushing some of his hair back, and then offering Levi a hand up again. "But three years... You guys must know the place, right? You should know if any place is hiring or something. Annnndd what hot girls are available...?" he added, winking playfully (and hopefully) at his friend. Somehow, he didn't exactly expect Adrian to be up to date on that last part...

Such a statement didn't deserve a response. Or, at least, Adrian didn't consider himself in a state to adequately respond to such a statement without embarrassing himself somehow, and that was as good an excuse as any. His relief at the change of subject was short-lived, however, for Levi's remarks appeared to have prompted an unfortunate reaction in his friend. Adrian took a fumbling step backwards at Trendon's speedy approach, and raised his arms in defense, trying to brush away the offending hands.
"What are you-? Cut that out, would ya?"

Meanwhile, Levi was enjoying the show. "Hey, you still owe him a kiss!" he taunted Adrian. Man, he had missed this! Although Levi had matured in some ways, he was still mostly the irresponsible child he'd been his entire life. And now he wouldn't be the only one to tease Adrian! It was hard to believe this was real. In fact, he couldn't entirely discount the theory that he was dreaming right now, and any moment dinosaurs would walk out of the house, or screaming llamas would come falling from the sky. Just in case, he looked away from the entertainment for a moment and pinched his arm to check. Nope! Not dreaming. Unless you could pinch your arm in a dream and not wake up? That was very possible... When Levi looked back up, Trendon was headed back towards him, explaining his presence in Soleil.

"You lost your job?" he responded incredulously, eyes widening for a moment before returning to normal. "You know, I really shouldn't be surprised," he added, taking the proffered hand for the second time and standing up. Standing up sucked. It took too much effort. But still, Trendon was back and it was worth it! Once he was upright, Levi brushed off his back in an attempt to remove stray grass, but wasn't really bothered by the fact that he didn't fully succeed. "I don't really pay attention to job openings, but I do know girls! Man, I still can't believe you're actually here... Hey! We could do, like, a double date! Or you totally have to come party with us basically all the time. Ah, this is so awesome! Hey, D, do you think-- D?" Levi cut off, having glanced to where Adrian had been standing only to find that his brother was no longer there.

Caught up in his own plans, Levi hadn't noticed his brother's... well, anything really. Although Adrian had relaxed a bit when Trendon had turned away from him and listened to the explanation for moving, his reaction to the man's comment about "hot girls" had not been so pleasant.
"I need a drink," he said flatly, and promptly walked towards the street, moving to the driver's side of Levi's car, which still had the key in the ignition. He would have gotten in his own vehicle, but Levi preferred not to drive around in a cop car, so they always took this one when they were together. Sitting down, he simply waited for the two to join him, figuring that Levi would follow eventually. And if he didn't, well, this was preferable to standing there trying to come to grips with the whole, strange situation anyway. And indeed, the situation was strange. It would be a while before Adrian was able to fully process it, and that likely wouldn't happen anytime soon, what with the two over there jabbering away about girls and tourists and other ridiculous things. And of course Levi had basically ignored Trendon's comment about losing his job, as if that didn't matter at all. His brother really could be a complete idiot sometimes.

Even as he got increasingly annoyed, Adrian was just proving too much fun to tease. And Levi certainly wasn't helping things. "That's riiighhhtt..." Trendon agreed, as if he had almost forgot about his request for a kiss not even five minutes ago, grinning a cheshire grin down at Adrian. He casually slid closer, moving to slide his arm around Adrian's shoulders, if he could. "I'm starting to think you're neglecting your duties, here, Dee~" he purred, lifting a finger to trail up his throat and tilt his chin up.

He gave a smug smirk and completely dropped his arms to his sides and stepped away, looking back at Levi. He just gave that same sheepish smile and shrug when his friend admitted he wasn't exactly surprised at the news of his loss of employment.
"What can I say? I guess I was just too distracting for my coworkers," he replied immodestly, placing a hand on his chest and flashing a cheesy, 'debonair' grin. He blinked, though, when he heard Adrian, glancing over to see him walk off to the car. He would have shouted something playful after him, but Levi was already launching into a response of his own, and Trendon dragged his attention back to him.

He chuckled a bit, and gave a glance to the sky in amusement when his friend clarified what he could and couldn't help with, but hey, at least he could help with the fun stuff!
"Great! You'll have to introduce me! When's the first party?" he asked in a somewhat joking tone. Man, though, he could use a party... but he had a feeling he would actually have to hold off on that a bit. He didn't exactly have any extra spending cash for drinks... But... parties came with free food, right? Cost analysis! He was going! If there even was one... "Looks like Adrian's already ready. Where were you guys headed, anyway?" he asked, starting for the car so Levi could join his brother.

And... maybe hopefully invite him along.

do that too. I'm sure Trendon will have quite a few instances

I try and word it ambiguously, but sometimes I can't figure out
a way to do it without it sounding weird. So if there's anything like
that, just assume it's open ended, and/or tell me to change it, and
I'll be happy to do so ^^
