Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock... It was quiet yet again. The ticking of a wall clock sounded like it echoed through the hospital halls. Aaron was standing by a fixed glass window on the second floor. He was not very far from his room. And there, he took his time watching how the cityscape bloomed. Its lights radiate with a bit of mood lighting on a larger scale. He remembered his past home. It was a gloomy place. For such a big city, one cannot shake the thought that there is danger in every dark corner.
Aaron used to be one of the people who stood up to fight the threat of that city. But it's in the past now. He purposely came to Soleil for a new life. Yet, old habits never die. He still works as a detective in Soleil. But his experience here was far more... calm, compared to the previous environment he was in.
Checking his phone, it's light gleamed on his face. (At late hours, the hospital isn't too bright to conserve energy.) The screen of his phone got cracked, but it didn't stop him from looking at the first photos of Coralyn in the gallery. Even from the incident from two weeks ago, Coralyn still visits him daily. Of course he is happy that Aaron still see her everyday, but he still feel guilty about the desperate attempt he did, before the accident. But that stranger. That woman. Who the hell was she? He already forgot what her face looked like, but he can still remember the voice of that perpatrator. It was all too sudden.
... "Whoever you are, you'll pay for the chaos you've caused." ...
Aaron would then hobble back to his room, aided by a pair of aluminum crutches. His other leg still has a cast on it. The injuries of his body are recovering well. Though he may feel some stings sometimes, but the doctor said it happens due to the shock from the impact of the car. This is just his body, fighing to recover itself.
Taking a seat on his hospital bed, he gave a few pats on his casted leg before grabbing a book tucked underneath his pillow. It was just one of his books in his house tho. A book he haven't finished reading yet. A book with a title "The Whaler's Creed". In that book, was a piece of paper. It contained the first few lines of his love letter for Coralyn, and now he is about to finish it before midnight.
Taking his pen, a smile traced his lips as he continued to write the love letter. Sometimes, you can fully express what you need to say through writing. If we speak, the chances are high to mess up or cannot fully express what you need to say. This is also why Aaron loves her, for words of the mouth can somtimes be decieving, and words on paper are worth reading.
Morning came, and Aaron ready to see her again. He wasn't able to look fancy for the day. But he had his cologn on, and something hidden in the sheets of his bed. He would wait until Coralyn arives.

Coralyn found her feet drawn to the hospital yet again, but this time with the intention to stay longer than usual. Despite that fatal day, despite that unpleasant encounter with an unpleasant side of her lover which just tore him away from the image of him that she so adored, she found herself frequenting his chambers until she noticed him doing better. Day in and out, she was bringing him food once the doctors said she could and would even talk to him, trying to bury her emotions behind a little smile, but it still killed her to think that she could have lost him over her own insignificant thoughts. At least, in her mind, they grew insignificant, especially since his life was at stake.
Today, she actually put some effort into her outfit than showing up in a coat over her work attire. She actually tried since, well, she was a sucker for cheesy romantic holidays as such. She put on a skirt and warm sheer tights to keep the cold out, boots and a sweater to keep herself from freezing in this chilly weather. She did have a bag with some handmade chocolates in it, something she made her own little tradition of doing every year. She stood outside the door and felt her heart ramming against her chest, she was nervous, for obvious reasons. Despite worrying about her lover's life, she couldn't forget how the mess even started to begin with. She still felt incompetent in comparison to the woman who kissed him, she felt incompetent in general for him even thinking of someone else. These questions and more would run through her head, each time she saw him, but she couldn't even take it when he tried talking about that day to her and would simply avoid it and excuse herself to go work or simply escape it. She was looking for answers, but surely, she didn't want that to ruin her day. She took a deep breath and got herself up and over past the door, trying to pull her lips into a smile as she signed, "Hello, Good morning," after knocking on the door to draw his attention. "Are you alright? Did you sleep well?" she'd ask, stepping closer and sitting on the little stool by his bed, looking at him with a sincere yet guilty smile from seeing him starting to look better now.

"U-uh.." Aaron's eyes followed Coralyn, like bees following a flower's scent. He didn't expect she would look so good today. She looks gorgeous. It made him speechless during the transition when she entered the room and walked closer to sit on the stool next to his bed. He couldn't help but blush after she asked about his well-being.
The man would then fake a cough, with a closed fist to cover his lips, trying to recompose himself and shake off the butterflies in his stomach. "COUGH!.. --S..Sorry, my throat feels ticklish, I had to cough. Umm.. --But other than that, I'm doing well..!!" Him trying to make it less obvious after being flustered.
But even after what he said, Aaron couldn't help but look into her eyes once more. If only he could prove his intentions were pure up to this moment, he could just pull her gently and kiss her deep, RIGHT FREAKING NOW. If only he could...
Aaron would slowly position himself to face her as he kept staring into her eyes. A moment of silence took place until he would shyly admit something to her. "Uhm, you r..really look good today." He said as his cheeks would blush again. Trying to look away while softly scratching the upper part of his nape. He also felt embarrassed by the fact he is still wearing hospital garments. ----------
"Y..You're not--- meeting someone else today, are you?" He asks as his expression shifted to worry.
A logical, critical thinker like him also overthinks at most times. ------ "I mean... you look so good today--- Aaron would shyly shift away, hoping no other guy is contesting with him, especially after the incident. "... I just.. --
He didn't continue his mumbling as at this point, his face has turned rosey red.

Coralyn sat on the stool and would idly fidget with the purse on her lap while her eyes were still on the man. She couldn't help but smile at him a little, hoping her face wouldn't give away the signs of fatigue from waking up a smidgen too early to get the chocolates done on time. Not to mention the lack of care she had been putting on herself from running back and forth from the hospital and work that was starting to show when she took off her makeup. To be fair, she did put on a thin layer of makeup to hide any minor imperfections, and to look brighter than she was.
Aaron's coughing did elicit a reaction from her, her attention shifting to the nightstand as she got up, nearly dropping her purse and her precious belongings before she could pour out a glass of water for him and offer it to him so he could feel better. She waited until he'd either take it or just ask her to set it aside, before taking her seat back, exhaling quietly though her nose as she sat back and watched him. Her smile returned a little, seeming less forced and more genuine now as she watched him looking at her. Though, what he had to say next would bring up a bright red flush across her cheeks. "Thank you." she signed, lowering her head a little as she pursed her lips to keep herself from smiling, but she couldn't help it. Despite her being unsure of him, she did know that he could give her butterflies in her belly with just a look.
The woman's eyes quickly darted back up to him when he asked her if she was meeting someone else, her smile slowly fading as she shook her head and brought her hands back to her bag, scratching a little at the material as she glanced back at him, "No." she signed to confirm verbally, before she finally killed the suspense for herself and him, drawing out the bag of individually wrapped chocolate bits that she made for him, holding it out to him with both her hands as she tried to gift him respectfully with a light smile. "I wanted to give you these." she'd say, "If, you are allowed to eat them that is.." she'd add, trying to make sure it wasn't out of question for him with the doctor monitoring what he'd eat. But of course, what he said did make her wonder if he really thought she had moved on from him. Her smile softened a little and eyes darted back to him as she asked, "Should I be seeing someone else?", asking him if he wanted her to stop coming or maybe just, move on from him after what she put him through.

Aaron drank the glass of water since he did feel a little thirsty. He also saw Coralyn's response which made him flutter his eyes. And again, his cheeks would blush to see the chocolatey treats she made and brought for him. It made his heart melt. But that feeling got snatched away after he saw her signing a question to him.
It made him widen his eyes for a quiet moment before he would pout his lips, which looked like an upside-down letter "V". His brows furrowed with his eyes all teary as his cheeks remained rosey. It may look like a cartoonish expression, but his emotions were exploding deep inside him. If it weren't for that stranger, this whole thing wouldn't have happened!
"No, baby... I don't want to see you with someone else." He said as his facial expression slowly shifted into a worried look. His back would then slowly starts to slouch, indicating he would be heartbroken and may get depressed if she does. His eyes now foreshadowed by his curly hair as he grew quiet silent.
It's the first time since he woke up from the accident, he finally used the word "baby" again. The nickname he used to call Coralyn especially when he wants to cuddle her, kiss her, and make love with her.
After the accident, there is a wall that has been keeping them apart. It felt awkward to show his affection for her, especially from what happened.
Though, after his gloomy mood, he had to fight this. He has to win her trust again. That thought of being accused for cheating really bothered him alot because he would never do such a thing.
He straghtened his back again, as he tries to make his face back to neutral again.
'You gotta man up, dude.' A monologue would play at the back of his head before he would try to smile again.
"Oh! Um, I also have something for you." He said verbally, along with the hand signing. Sometimes he forget to notice that Coralyn is not deaf, which means, she understrands verbal communication. (Aaron haven't asked the full detail of her past yet.) But mute or not, he still loves her.
After telling her, he would then reach something under the folds of his blanket, taking a DIY envelope with a love letter inside. He managed to ask his co-workers to bring him some materials the other day. As well as hiding them whenever Coralyn visits him.
Along with the love letter, was also a simple Sunflower Boquet. He made sure that his co-workers would make him one. It wouldn't be a surprise if Coralyn would find the boquet as familiar in the flower shop. Making sure that this boquet was one of a kind. Not too shabby, but also its size is convenient enough to hide for simple surprizes.
"Happy Valentine's Day, My love!" He said with a little shy tone, still. He held the item with both hands, shyly bowing his head a bit as he offers these simple gifts. (It would look like how Japanese boys, confess their feelings to their crush)
"Y..You might be wondering where I get these. I had a little help with my co-workers.." Aaron's face would begin to fluster again, hoping that Coralyn will accept them.
