"No soy todo lo que ves, pero tampoco ves todo lo que soy."

Today was surely not a good day to be outside, especially with what was said in the news. The last thing Lisa wanted was to go to the place where all the mess was said to have started in the first place. She couldn't help it though, she needed to pick up some medicines from the hospital and while she wanted to stop at the gym to make an application so she wouldn't have to suffer once she started taking frequent visits with the big man.

"Good job Lisa, you just had to come here when you could be possessed by your own abuela..."she mumbled to herself. While she walked, she looked over, feeling she was probably the only person here until she noticed someone ride their way past her. The longer she watched, she noticed that it was a woman. "Oh wow, I wish I could ride a bike like that..." she mumbled under her breath, clearly awestruck by this lady. But she wasn't the kind to silently observe, she ended up nearing the woman with an expression that could be almost childlike glimmer of excitement. "How long have you been riding your bike?" she'd ask, almost forgetting about the fear she had earlier.

Since yesterday, it didn't seem she
was able to go to the beach as her
mother had sent out one of her
handmaidens to fetch Nádhera, and
return her home, safe, and soundly.
She recalls saying her goodbyes, but
wasn't looking forward to the arrival
back at the manor, where he mother
gave her a rather harsh scolding.
Today, She was allowed outside, as
long as she was escorted by one of the
handmaids. Again, her own mother treats
Nádhera as some kind of won trophy, rather
than an actual daughter. Like, she's some
delicate glass vase, god forbid she brakes.
Sighing at the thought of such analogy was
starting to drain her energy. So much so
that her traveling companion could see it
clear as day. The young las felt bad, but had a
rather cheeky idea. Oh look at me, looking away
not paying attention to my lady who could just
as easily be lost in such a crowded place!

The handmaid spoke out. Nádhera cocked a
brow "But, it's not-" That's when she realized
what was going on, and smiled softly.
"I owe you." Think nothing of it, my lady.
They both exchanged a light bow of their heads before
Nádhera darted off further into the streets.
Coming around a corner, she ended up bumping
into someone and fell back to the hard concreate.
With a yelp from the sharp pain on her rear, she winces.
"I-I'm....My apologies!" She struggled to find words, all
the while trying to collect herself.

" Nnn-achu!" Wracked with the sudden, quiet sneeze Nate backed away from his companion just a bit and gave himself a moment to regain his sense of self control. Cold weather often got to him quickly despite his enjoyment of it and while the thick clouds overhead were a godsend to protect him from stray sunlight burns... it diffidently made it chillier too. Inhaling slowly, testing the crisp air cautiously, the youth relaxed when it became clear his sniffle had been a one-off reaction and he sheepishly flicked his sanguine gaze up to meet the amused stare of his contact. " Allergies?" The Imp asked lightly, flashing a smile so full of humor it would put his little sister Ellie's to shame. " Only if someone can be allergic to the cold. It is a love hate thing, I love it but it seems determined to hate me." Smiling as his quip earned a gruff chuckle from the other man Nate shook his head, the pale strands of his hair falling in a rebellious wave over the right side of his face as he pushed his hands into his coat pocket and tried to finish his earlier thought again... sans the sneeze of course. " But no, as long as you don't over use the powder it shouldn't mess with your sleep schedule. Start with a teaspoon in your morning tea and if that proves too strong then ease the amount back to just a pinch. It should keep you awake and alert, without depriving you of a good night's rest." Waving his patient away with a good natured sway of his hand Nate silently pondered how to reduce the potency of his product before the Imp ordered it again.. Well aware that this would be the second time the man had blazed through the caffeine-replacement supplement to meet his work deadlines. The work of a writer was hard... But as much as he wanted his client to do well Nate had no intention of letting his medicine become harmful to the man. Since he couldn't trust the Imp to use it properly, he'd just alter the recipe a bit and make it less dangerous..

Lost in these musings the boy had turned to leave, alone now on the street and absently retracing his earlier steps back the way he had came. Dressed in a modest but warm black coat he'd opted for one of his usual punk-styled t-shirts and a comfy pair of jeans to combat the day's frigid air during his errand, his well worn sneakers quiet on the sidewalk and the silly fluffy black socks his middle sister Tonia had given him were delightfully warm as he'd hoped they would be. The delivery was complete and his work was pretty much done so the youth hadn't tried to dress up too much.. and his mind was entirely too absorbed in potential corrections to his work to mind anyone nearby that might judge his appearance anyway. There was a little of that Kelpie hair left over after he'd portioned it out between himself and King for the ink tests, maybe he could see about cooking up a sea-sickness remedy or the like.. Distracted as he was, Nate was not paying nearly enough attention to where he was walking as his mind continued to wander.

Man if Armin knew what he was up to, he would have been in so much trouble. Actually, Armin was probably awake and had seen the note he wrote by now, so if anything Pëllumb was surprised he hadn’t heard any cops roving around looking for him. Or perhaps Armin had already found him and was just watching from afar as the eager young manservant was wont to do. Click Pëllumb had snuck out at some point, though he wasn’t sure when as there were no clocks in his room or the music room and none of the ones in the other rooms had gone off soon before he left. However, judging by the lack of heat, he was pretty sure it had been in the wee hours of the morning. How long he had been out was a mystery as well for once again he had heard no town clocks chiming the hour, but he was aware that it was lighter (though not bright by any stretch) out and he was starting to get a bit tired of wandering. Not to mention he was getting rather peckish. ”Of course, one of the few things my body can still keep on a schedule,” he thought with a sigh. Click. Well at least he was appropriately dressed for the weather, which felt more like the dead of winter in his homeland, but black wool pants, a high-collared silk maroon shirt, black wool frock coat, and a maroon stocking cap were plenty enough to keep the chill out. As an extra precaution though he had left his hair down, a surprisingly strong defense against the chill even if it did hide his ears a bit more than he liked.

Click. As much as he would have enjoyed sinking into his thoughts, as he oft did, he'd made a fool of himself enough of late that walking around genuinely blind seemed like a poor decision. Sure people were generally rather diligent about getting out of his way once they saw the white cane, they were even quite mum when they noticed he generally forsook the classic sunglasses or wraps and instead just kept his eyes closed. Click. He paused a moment to figure out where he might like to dine, only to realize he wasn't entirely sure where he was. "Great, now Armin really is going to have my hide," he muttered as he stopped to ponder. Click. It took him a hot minute to go back over his route, but he thought he had it in mind, but just to be on the safe side maybe he should just go ahead and call-
-someone nearly dropped him to the ground as they ran into him. Of course he had noticed someone approaching him, but the person hadn't been moving particularly quickly and Pëllumb had been perfectly still so he shouldn't have been too much of an obstacle. "Are you alright?" he asked, looking in the person's general direction. In his confusion and concern he had opened his eyes (for he could still see just a very little) and forgotten to close them again. Thus blood red orbs shifted aimlessly before, behind, beyond, and all around Nate. "Didn't mean to trip you up there." He said hoping to alleviate any potential awkwardness.

No... Maybe a liquid would work faster? Powder wasn't bad for something that could spare a minute for the digestive track to work but... Click? Realizing the noise had occurred a few times, almost like a pattern as it grew in volume, Nate tilted his head and blinked; Only just lifting his chin to investigate the sound when something very solid collided with him mid-step. Ever one to quickly adapt, and immediately seeking to steady the body he'd crashed into, the youth pivoted on his left foot and reached out to grasp the stranger's elbow in a steadying motion.. His heart hammering even as he realized the person he'd caught hold of was surprisingly steady on their own feet despite their collision. It was nothing short of a miracle that neither of them went down entirely, but.. it didn't really excuse his bad manners just because neither of them had been hurt. " Sorry, my mind was elsewhere and I..." Releasing his grip on whom he now saw was a man Nate stepped back a bit, a twinge of red tinting his features as the full view of the stranger sank in. The stark white of the Cane in the man's grasp was easily the first thing that caught his eye, it was rather hard to miss and it instantly explained the sounds of tapping upon the concrete walkway he'd noticed far too late. But beyond that? Stylish clothes, taller in frame, and though these features were impressive on their own it was the stranger's face that gave him real pause as Nate felt his head c**k to the side curiously. Pale, like him. Red eyes... also like his? Honestly.. It was his first time meeting another Albino person and for a moment or two he was tempted to say as much; It was only the awareness of his own discomfort when people pointed it out that convinced him to let the observation pass in silence. Besides.. now that the rush of adrenaline was fading something else about the man was becoming obvious and far more pressing. The velvet glide of death energy that crept up his spine whispered not only who he'd hit.. but 'what'. A Necromancer's intuition was nothing to sneer at and, concerned given the time of day it was, Nate instinctively stepped closer as he scanned the stranger for any signs that he'd suffered from stray burns or the like. Again, he wouldn't call the man out on his species because he considered it bad manners, just because Nate could tell didn't mean it was his business to share the information.

" .. If it makes you feel better, I kind of did deserve it for not paying attention." Between the Cane, the man's quick sweeping glances, and the fact that he'd not evaded Nate with ease earlier it was clear that Vampire or not the male had some sort of vision impairment.. But he was also an adult and Nate had no intention of adding insult to injury by coddling the stranger. Especially when the stranger seemed concerned with Nate's wellbeing despite the trouble he'd caused.. The puff of air that escaped him was somewhere between a laugh and a sigh as Nate shook his head, side stepping to stand directly in front of the stranger as he extended his hand to rest between them steadily to show proper etiquette. " I'm Nate, and if you don't mind a greeting handshake my hand is about half an arm's length in front of you even with your elbow. I have a thick skull so I'm fine, but did I harm you or damage your Cane?"

He wondered what part of his appearance had given the man (or at least the voice had sounded masculine) pause. Oh well, he was likely to find out soon. It was his turn to be somewhat surprised when the gentleman offered up a handshake and verbally guided him to it. Many had just forgone the custom or simply grabbed his hand, figuring it was easier that way. Perhaps this man had some experience with the blind…that would be rather nice indeed. With the directions he easily found the man’s hand and shook it firmly yet gently. ”A pleasure to meet you, Nate, and I am glad you are not hurt. I am Pëllumb, a somewhat new resident of the area. And no, I do not believe I am harmed.” He ran his other hand over the surface of the cane, ”it seems to be fine as well. I mostly use it so others are aware of my visual impairment, generally encourages others to work around me.” He gave the other a wry little smile, now quite certain of where the man was standing. Finally it dawned on him that his eyes were open and his wandering stare had a tendency to make people feel uncomfortable. He went ahead and closed his eyes and kept them shut, not like he was using them at the moment anyway. ”Sorry about that, my eyes tend to disconcert people. Though I can still see a little, they are not giving me much information at the moment.” Nate could take from that as he wished. ”Would you care to sit down? I think there is a bench a few meters to my left. I believe I will take a seat though, I have been strolling for quite a while I think.” Contrary to Nate’s assumption, the click came not from the cane, but was a sound he made at regular intervals, like a bat does when flying at night. With no one walking by, it was easy enough for him to find the bench in question and feel around to get its exact position. He sat down with a sigh then laid the cane across his knees. ”Much better indeed. Oh pardon, were you in a rush to be somewhere? As I am not injured, it would be rude of me to take up more of your time than you care to spare.” He hoped that didn’t sound passive-aggressive for it had not been intended that way, but then again he did sometimes have difficulties in communicating with the youth these days.

Saying the man did not up and leave, Pëllumb would keep an ear out so he would know where the man moved, should he move. ”What brings you out on such a dark day, if I may ask? Promise I am not trying to pry, just making conversation I suppose.” ”My wife would have made him feel welcomed by now. Over a century and I still haven’t learned.” Still…he really could go for something to eat at some point, but perhaps not yet, not unless Nate seemed so inclined. He self-consciously tucked a few strands of hair behind his ear.

It was a mixture of relief and amusement that met Pëllumb's reassurance that both his physical person and his property were fine and the pair shook hands; Nate noting that though the man seemed to have forgiven him for the impact there were traces of a rather familiar emotion in the deep crimson hues of his stare even as his voice carried a much more reserved tone. " I wouldn't worry too much, I'm often told I'm a bit disconcerting myself so I've no room to judge others." Though typically when people hinted at that towards him they were referring to his personal interests and not his appearance. But to dislike the man's eyes? It was a odd thought that such a expressive feature of the man's face could still show so much even when they saw so little and on some level he could understand the unease that caused others. Right or wrong, people were easily intimidated by what they didn't understand. It was a honestly a bit disappointing when the man's eyes closed, breaking Nate's focus on them and firmly veiling any further hints as to his new companion's thoughts. Maybe he was just overlapping his own sentiments onto the stranger a bit, too.. It was very possible and regardless of just which of them the sentiment was coming from it would be a lie to say at least one of them didn't crave a bit of socialization. His family was on a trip for the next week so he wouldn't have any odd phone calls to distract himself with and his friend King had plans.. So, despite how much he loved his home, the boy wasn't particularly in a rush to cloister himself up alone in the silence waiting for him there.

Perhaps guided by this, and a sliver of nagging curiosity he could never resist for long when it arose, Nate didn't hesitate but a moment before accepting the offer to sit with Pëllumb when the man invited him to do so. It was a short jaunt to the public benches and though Nate instinctively watched for any signs of his companion needing help the boy was able to relax when the other man navigated his way with relative ease to his desired resting place; Nate following suit and taking a seat at Pëllumb's side a short distance down the bench as his mind turned over the questions that had been posed to him in-turn to his own. " I wrapped up my errands a short while ago so if you don't mind the company, I'd welcome the chance to talk for a bit." Though phrased casually it was easily the closest the youth could come to admitting he was a bit lonely without the chaos and noise of his family and friends, his feelings reflected in 'how' he spoke rather than 'what' he said as was typically the case with Nate. Leaning into the backrest of the bench the pale youth sank his hands into his pockets once more and refocused his attention on Pëllumb at his side as he spoke lightly on. " Pry away Pëllumb, I'll decline to answer if something is too personal so feel free to do the same in return. As for the day.. Honestly this is the best weather for me to be out in, I burn easily in strong sunlight so cloudy days are a godsend when I need to deliver medicine to, or consult with, clients. Unfortunately I spaced out a bit thinking about the recipe tweaks needed this time..." A firm shake of his head sent the white fluff of his short hair flying wildly, the tussled locks settling back over his right eye rebelliously and prompting him to absently push at the silken strands to clear his vision. " .. But I really shouldn't have let it distract me to the point of causing other people trouble. If you are up to it I don't mind treating you to something as a proper apology? There is a really good Italian restaurant nearby or I can cook something if you're comfortable with that."

It was a bit outdated of a practice, offering a meal or drink in the spirit of building positive bonds, but it was one his Grandmother had drilled into him firmly as good etiquette to follow. Personally he preferred to invite people to his home so he could do the cooking himself, drawn to the role of caretaker intrinsically.. Though as King so loved to remind him not everyone was as relaxed towards strangers as he himself was and for every willing new friend he made there were just as many unnerved souls who thought he was either hitting on them or planning something nefarious.. The fact that his friend had used the term 'naïve' instead of relaxed was entirely beside the point of course and though many doubted his intentions Nate never let that discourage him from his optimistic mindset. It did, however, contribute to his twisted humor over the years and before he could think to sensor the thought he voiced his inner musings with a fair amount of mirth. " I promise that isn't a pick-up line despite how it sounds; Not that you are not pick-up worthy mind you, I just try not to make it a habit of hitting on strangers. The offer is purely for the sake of maintaining good company.. and maybe getting to ask you a few slightly more personal questions if you don't mind?" Few things could bring out the bolder side of Nate like his curiosity could and, given this was the first vampire he'd met, a myriad of inquiries came to mind in the subject he was most passionate about: Cooking. Could vampires consume solids? Were they like Kelpies in the sense that the species shared a strict diet? Was the Garlic myth valid? As rude as he knew it was to address Pëllumb's species, especially when he'd consciously avoided doing so earlier, he couldn't quite pass up this chance to learn either.

There was something to the man’s tone that suggested he more than welcomed the chance to speak, which suited him just fine. ”So you are a doctor or medicine man of some sorts, I take it? I can see why you were distracted then, it’s an awful lot to juggle in your head I would imagine. Or at least that is what my younger brother, an anatomist, has suggested.” They would have a full day’s one-sided conversation if he started talking about his family, so he was quite thankful when the topic changed to asking him out for a meal. He was certainly surprised and he could not school his features quickly enough to keep his brows from raising, but he reminded himself that people these days were much more familiar than they used to be and he needed to get with the times lest he embarrass his grandkids. Well surprised about being invited over to the man’s house mostly, they hadn’t even exchanged cards or anything yet! Granted restaurants were not popular when he was young, so he had not been raised with any sort of restaurant etiquette knowledge. His surprise must have been apparent, for Nate quickly began explaining himself in an attempt to reassure the old man, though he hadn’t quite hit the nail on the head as to why he had been surprised. ”I thank you for the assurance, but I am even more pleased that you felt such a clarification needed to be made. I would not have minded if you were attempting to seduce me, though I’m afraid I can be rather dense in such regards, it has been a long time since anyone tried. I must have made an excellent impression if you find me pick up worthy after such little time knowing me. It is nice to know though that not everyone is invited, well, in the sense that I have been deemed worthy.” He hadn’t expected so many compliments this day… at least he was under the impression it was daytime, even if personal questions were involved it was still a wonderful day. ”I was merely surprised by the suddenness. I was raised very…traditionally. I don’t know what I was thinking, maybe to exchange calling cards and have out servants schedule something? Geez that sounds older than old-fashioned when I say it aloud.” Cause he totally was not old enough to remember a time when that was common. Nope definitely not. ”If I have not made too much a fool of myself, I would be delighted to accept your invitation. Let me just text my, uh, friend real quick so he doesn’t worry about me.” After making himself sound so old with that calling card comment, he didn’t need to make it worse by admitting that he did in fact have a loyal manservant. Armin was more than a manservant to him, thus he was not lying when he called the man a friend. A dear one at that. He pulled out his phone and told it, in Albanian of course, to text Armin that he was fine and spending some time with a new friend. Giving said friend’s address would have been more reassuring to the ghoul, but alas Pëllumb did not have that information nor did he think it polite to ask about it for his report.

Click. ”Ah yes well then, ready whenever you are. I am both curious and eager to see how I might satisfy you-r curiosity.” This time he made sure the devilish grin which flashed upon his features was quite obvious. He was merely continuing the joke as it were, not actually trying to hook up with the young man. Click. With a couple exploratory scans out of the way, he felt confident enough to stand and head towards Nate, choosing not to even bother with the cane. He could follow along just fine, especially if Nate continued talking, or if Nate wished to lead him that was perfectly fine as well. Even someone as proud as himself knew it was perfectly alright to get help when you had no idea where you were going.

A low note broke through the nearby ambiance; their current gait an idle one. The snow that drifted past was part of Noscere’s current focus, a sense of nostalgia gaining from that part of scenery -- but they did not keep it in focus for too long, aware of the other people occasionally moving past. Stepping carefully, their attention moved from the near-gale to other nearby fact, nearly pausing to let someone who appeared in a hurry rush past. The motion, a partial-sidestep, was followed by a waver before they continued on, the shops that lined the streets similarly going by.

Despite the holiday nearing a threshold, abandoning their daily walk hadn’t seemed the best choice -- more with shopping already having been taken care of. They weren’t quite dressed festively, but suited enough for the weather as it stood; a notion which again crossed their mind in seeing various other persons taking spirit into account. It was a misgiving that moved into the background, their thoughts going elsewhere as another part of the crowd was hesitated at, a sense of misgiving again lasting for a moment. It seemed to not be too different from most years in that regard -- most people were either in a hurry or not at all, as was in their case.

This was shaken off, and with a more brisk pace they moved forward again -- although still keeping caution for the surroundings. While potentially muted by the sounds around them, they started up with a song again, this one more recent than the earlier melody -- but not quite as much as would be ideal. Regardless, they kept up with it as they rounded another corner, still on a gradual path back toward their home. The entire day was left for matters, but for now a relative amount could be spent otherwise, their gaze kept forward in awareness of that, and else.

Exhausted. Burnt out. That was how Myra was feeling this lonely day. She had recently moved away from the last person she had known from her childhood. He wasn’t a friend. She had tried so hard to live like how they had been back in school, but it had turned out to be a mistake. Just like back then he rejected her feelings and instead wanted to use her. Confrontation and setting boundaries was hard for her and she couldn’t tell him no nor to leave her alone. With a heavy heart she moved away in the night to a random city. She was pretty broke now but at least she was as far away from that man as she possibly could be.

It should’ve been a relief for her, but instead she only felt that much lonelier. Why had she tried to move around a holiday? Some people were so festive while others were so full of sadness or contempt for Christmas . Either way she looked at it she couldn’t help the sordid mood she was in as she trudged along the unfamiliar streets. The snow reminded her of better times that she could barely recall, just as much as terrible memories that she’d prefer were less memorable, making the whole scene bittersweet.

Getting lost in her thoughts, Myra had lost track of where she was heading. She had gone into autopilot and just walked without paying much attention to her surroundings beyond the white flakes falling from the sky. She was only brought back to her sense when she accidentally crashed into a fellow pedestrian. Thankfully it wasn’t too hard, but she immediately felt bad and blurted out a quick, “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going!” She held her hands out defensively, as if waiting to catch the person in case she had knocked them off balance more than she initially realized. She also bowed her head in a way to convey how apologetic she was.
