 Seth let go of his phone when the other male had taken it and put his hands in his pockets. They were getting a little cold. He had been well equipped to deal with the cold, especially considering where he was born, but years of a more temperate climate hadn’t helped him to retain a lot of immunity against it. He watched the man as they hesitated and then typed in the phone number. He didn’t try to listen in on the message though, not that he could avoid picking up the words. When his mobile was handed back, Seth smiled. "Alright, let’s go to the Italian. I’ll help you get there. And you’re not a burden, I offered my help myself because I don’t mind." Seth chuckled. He felt kind of bad about taking this offer though, but he would humor the man. "I’m sure he will be there soon then. Let’s go eat." He had rarely eaten such a heavy lunch/dinner but he knew he liked some pastas. It didn’t take long to reach the place either. Just as they had said, it was closest. Seth walked in and looked around at the interior. He hadn't been inside until now. It looked pretty classy, as one would expect from a restaurant in Uptown. The water magi glanced at his companion next to him and hoped they wouldn’t spend too much on him. But he had already tried to decline once, declining another time would just be rude. It didn’t take long to find a seat at least, there were a few tables free. Relieved they could sit down, knowing what concussions could do to a person, Seth glanced at the menu that lay on the table. None of the prices were something he would worry about for himself, but it did look to be on the more expensive side of things. He gave a slight smile, ”didn’t realize you were getting yourself into so much work, huh? Well, thank you for your help, I really do appreciate it.” Kid probably thought he’d just need directions or some simple thing like that, not an escort and everything. Kindness never goes unpunished so they say.
He was fine most of the trip, only had to lean on Seth a time or two, but still he was thankful when they got to the restaurant and he could slide into a booth. He’d have to fail real hard to end up flopping on the floor with all of that support. As soon as the menus were placed on the table he grabbed one up and began scanning it quickly. ”I should probably get something for my roommate too, since he has to come all the way out here to get me.” That train of thought brought him to something he maybe should have asked earlier. ”I’m not keeping you from anything am I? Is anyone expecting you to return at a certain time? You should probably let them know if they are. But who am I to go giving advice, huh?” He had to be careful how he phrased things, wouldn’t want the kid to think he was trying to feel him out or dig up some info he shouldn’t know. He was just trying to be, well, something pleasant. ”And for real feel free to get whatever you want. You don’t have to worry about whether or not I can afford it, I’m good for it, or however people say it these days.” No point in pretending there wasn’t a significant age difference here, it would just make him seem desperate for departing youth, which would age him even worse. Speaking of age…”Not to be nosey, but um, how old are you? You seem mature, but I don’t want someone putting me on a list for hanging out with their teenage son. Hope that doesn’t sound weird. Oh! And also what’s your name? It’d be way more polite of me to address you by your name than ‘you’.” Ten to one it totally did.

The fact that the kid lived alone did sort of suggest an older age than Emi had expected, but then again emancipation was a thing, so he was still looking at sixteen as a minimum. Wouldn’t really feel too safe until he heard an official answer. ”Ah well, at least I ended up leading you to where you were going anyway. Or at least a place that could provide what you were looking for.” Granted he was crap company, but perhaps this kid was the type who preferred any company over solitude. Hopefully that was the case otherwise Emi was surely ruining the kid’s meal as well. ”Seth Tio’bre, huh? Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” He couldn’t say he’d heard the name before, yet the kid’s family name, while incredibly unique, didn't sound completely unfamiliar. Hopefully the concussion would be excuse enough if there were some dots he was supposed to be connecting. ”At the risk of showing my age, I have to admit I didn’t expect you to be in your twenties. You look younger. Sorry if that doesn’t sound like a compliment yet, but eventually it will be one, trust me. Kinda like the one you just gave me. I don’t feel like I'm in my early twenties, but if you say I look it then I’ll take it. I’m actually the ripe old age of thirty-seven. Oh, and the name’s Emelius, Dr Emelius Baines, but please call me Emelius or Emi. Every time I bring up the doctor part the risk of some rando asking me to look at a repulsive rash skyrockets.” He shivered just thinking about it. At least on dead people he didn’t have to hide his initial shock.
Eventually the server came over and Emi quickly ordered an appetizer of bruschetta alla caprese and eggplant parmesan as his main, along with a penne all'arrabbiata to go. He got water to drink, as if that would significantly cut costs. He then handed the floor over to Seth. Hopefully the man wasn’t expecting to split the appetizer: Emi might give him one to try, but he had definitely planned on eating all of it himself. It was impressive how much he could consume without gaining even a milligram of weight, especially when he was already hungry. After the server left, he would continue his conversation with Seth. ”So, if you had to have a phobia, what would be the most inconvenient one?” He paused for only half a second before adding, ”sorry if that is too weird. I read somewhere that asking strange questions was better for getting to know someone than standard small talk. But I can switch to weather or something if you’d prefer.” At least he was being transparent about his reason for asking.

Ah Valentine's Day, one of Esmee's favorite holidays. The witch was a huge romantic so the day dedicated to it was wonderful. Though she wasn't really opposed to being romantic any other day of the year. Regardless this Valentine's Day was going to be quite interesting seeing as how she had a date with the absolute hottie Etana from the candy store. They had been talking about meeting back up another day and since she knew this holiday was coming up she had suggested going out on a date. Their first encounter proved that they could match each others flirty energy and that both of them found the other attractive, so why not spend some more time together. Plus it gave her a chance to dress up all nice, though that didn't typically stop her from getting all dressed up on a normal day. She had a passion for fashion and the words 'low-key' were not in her dictionary as proven by her outfit for the day. Making a big impression was her way of life. So getting up early for once she spent the morning getting all gussied up, dress, makeup, jewelry, she even took the time to curl her long locks. Checking herself out in the mirror and taking a few quick selfies soon Esmee was out the door and calling an uber. After some planning between the two of them Taste of Italy ended up being their meeting spot.
Stepping out of the car and smoothing out her dress Esmee saw that she had been the first to arrive since it was agreed to wait right outside the restaurant. Pulling out her phone she quickly shot a text to her date to let him know she'd arrived and that she would be heading inside to grab them a table. Then she walked through the doors soon being greeted by a waiter who led her to an empty table. Looking around she let out a low whistle at the interior, this was certainly a place that deserved to be settled in a place like Uptown. The witch could appreciate a fancy restaurant, especially if she was out on a date and she also was a big fan of Italian food. Granted that could be attributed to her general appetite and love of food in general but the point still stood. She'd take her time to look over the menu as she waited for Etana to show up.

Who didn't love Valentine's Day? Etana loved it when it was merely a feast day to commemorate a rather grisly happening in history, but the thing it had become was also wonderful. He was a romantic sort at all times, but any day to celebrate that most wonderful feeling was a blessing to the once-blessed warrior. It was also a good day because he had a date with the hot witch he met at the candy store which perfectly fit the occasion. She had gotten his interest, and it was rare when Etana could meet someone with as much passion for flirting as Etana himself. A meet-up at the Taste of Italy, what more fitting place for a romantic rendezvous?
He was already one his way once he received a text saying she had gotten there already.

Wonderfully early, and now Etana needed to be fashionably on-time and luckily...he was never late. A short jog, nothing much to the warrior who had spent numerous centuries and lifetimes in battle traveling to even break a sweat and there he was just a little earlier than he had. He hadn't been far from the place himself luckily, but what man or women of taste wouldn't already be making their way there when they had an arranged meeting and their date was a beauty? Certainly not Etana.
He would head inside and immediately his golden eye would settle upon her in a perfect red dress, with make-up to match. Now wasn't that something? It was a fitting ensemble for the day for sure and he couldn't help but be excited. He wasn't sure if he quite matched, but he definitely dressed in his style with a shirt that did little to hide his trained physique, a nice if blazer, bottoms, and nice leather shoes though the leather belt and shoes had golden accompaniments thanks to his love of it. His sword hung on his hips. He wasn't the type to leave it behind.
He approached her table "Well aren't you just a perfectly fiery vision of beauty dear Esmee. I hope the place is to your liking. What better spot for a romantic dinner than a place pattered after the very home of romance?" giving her a little bow in greeting after his little joke.

Esmee's phone chimed as she got a text from Etana that he'd be here soon. In her excitement for both eating out at a good restaurant on a holiday she enjoyed and spending that time with such an attractive companion she just realized how early she showed up. Still if there was anything both her Louisianan and Korean grandmas had taught her it was that it's better to be early than to be late. Granted with her general dislike of mornings she didn't always hold true to that advice but she definitely did if it was something important. She had just settled on what she wanted to eat when she saw the familiar figure of Etana coming up to table. Quickly turning her attention to her date, her eyes widened slightly at his choice of attire. Not because it was bad but because it was putting his upper half on quite the display. If they weren't in public Esmee would've already had her hands on him. She did also notice the sword on his hip but didn't really have much of an opinion on that, she did remember him having it during their first meeting as well. The witch just figured it was something he didn't leave home without.
A grin tugged at her lips as she tucked some hair behind her ear. "Aww well thank you handsome, I've always been the type of person that loves to show out. Subtlety isn't really my strong suit as I love fashion and make way too much to be basic. Though I'm certain you noticed that from our first meeting. And might I say you are lookin' like quite the tasty lil' treat yourself." she drawled out with a wink. "Oh yes this is just such a lovely place. My momma taught me from a young age to never be picky when it comes to food and to try everything once, so I've made it a personal goal to enjoy all types of cuisine from around the world and have grown an expansive palate. Even though I'm always going to be partial to the good ol' Creole and Korean dishes I grew up with I love pretty much all foods. The fact that it fits the theme of the day is just a big bonus. " she chirped with a giggle before motioning to the seat across from her. "Now come on and have a seat, I've been ever so excited for this date." As soon as the two of them were settled a waiter came over to take their orders. For the appetizer she chose to start off with Focaccia col Formaggio, Ossobuco for her entrée and a glass of red wine.
