[ Field Class ] You're A Disgrace (the end p.13)

Even though he had been off campus when it had happened, word got around. Kenner did eventually hear about the students' rebellious little break in, and when he heard, he was ashamed. Ashamed. Surely the scarelings around here could have trespassed with a bit more... style. Trust a couple of dragons to just knock down the door.

The werehyena sighed and rolled his eyes, even though there was no one around to witness his exasperation. The skills needed to break and enter properly were vital ones for any scarer worth their FEAR to possess, especially those planning on working in the human world. Sometimes magic just couldn't be relied on. It was always good to have a firm grasp on the more mundane ways of doing things.

Today's lesson was scheduled to take place at Candless Manor, a "haunted" house designed to train students in a number of the stealthier arts. Kenner stood in front of a temporary portal erected between the reaper and ghost dorms, awaiting those curious enough to respond to his flyers.

As you approach, you might catch a flickering glimpse of Candless Manor through the portal, the sky above it dark and dreary even though it's currently just before high noon. If you try to head inside, Kenner will tell you it's not time to leave yet. If you persist and push your way past, you will end up on the manor's grounds with nothing to do except stand there and wait for everyone else to arrive. (You will also miss choosing supplies that might assist you.)

YOU'RE A DISGRACE
STOP BEING ONE

Yes, Hollandaise had seen the flyers attached to bullentin boards and doors around campus. The words were altogether too harsh for her to ignore. After all, she'd been sent here with the aim of not being a disgrace. The portal loomed eerily in front of her and Hollandaise felt her chest tighten. It was a bit much for a first class, maybe. Nervously, she fiddled with a flower that grew on her shoulder. She was really, really early.

Lock did not consider himself a disgrace. But he was interested in any opportunity to get off campus for a while. Things had been so cloying on campus lately that he was actually happy to consider himself a disgrace just to escape it.

Plus, he'd heard a few of his friends were going. Like everyone else, he showed up by the ghost dorms near 12pm. He had his messenger bag full of both shadows and snacks, because quite frankly he didn't trust any "field trips" anymore.

For now he stood to the side of the group, looking at Kenner with an accusing stare.

Xavier heard about a class starting up. Eager to learn all that he could, he showed up without any hesitation whatsoever. It didn't look like too many others had shown up just yet.

"Any idea what this is all about?" he asked those within already.

Shun wasn't really sure why he was there. He had planned on doing more mentoring but the sight of the portal by the ghost dormitory caught his attention. What the bloody hell was going on here? He eyed the portal with suspicion. Lock was there too. Hm.

Lock shook his head at Xavier, the boil he only remembered as the annoying snot he had led around campus (or rather, that Voodoo had). "No, but there's a portal. Means we're goin' off campus." That was seriously and genuinely all he cared about. "Where's your rainbow friend?"

He had yet to see Shun in the crowd, simply due to being distracted by Xavier.

He just needed to get out tonight, he just happened to meandering around the dorms when he happened-upon the group of students huddling around the ghost dorm. Curiosity had won him over as his feet carried him over to the group to see what was going on. When he had arrived, he definitely noticed the portal and what was beyond it. The question was, was it against the rules to do this or... was this another impromptu field trip?

The demon stayed behind the group, being the tall one to be able to see over most of their heads and watching what was going on. Listening in on conversations.

Meixiang had found one of the flyers by happenstance. Well, one of her Venus Flycats was trying to use it as a chew toy. She had managed to snag it away although it was half chewed and bits of paper were strewn around her room.

Giving it a look over she grinned. It had been a while since she'd been off campus.

And soon enough the Jiang Shi arrived at the meeting place, a few minutes early. Didn't want to be late! She looked over the small group that had gathered so far with a bright smile.

Alette was totally in the class, looking totally excited.

Piper arrived, hair primed and ready. She was too, but the hair was the important part.

After the campaigns, she could recognize a lot of the faces there and felt duly pleased with herself and her rigorous socializing. Grinning and waving at everyone, she proceeded to snake an arm with one of Lock's and lean into the conversation he was having with someone else's.

"What up, boils~?"

Sludge saw the flyers that were hung everywhere, interested by drawings (that were words) printed on them. He wasn't part of the group that had broken into the secretary's office, nor did he actually know there was a class being held that related to the incident. He actually just walked around the school grounds and found the portal between the ghost and reaper dorms, coupled with a few students hanging around waiting for the class to start.

He said nothing, merely gazing at the students gathered.

"Bullshit I'm a disgrace!" Pokerus shouted upon reading a flyer. Although she had no clue if this even refereed to her or not, she still turned up to the portal area to see what 'stop being a disgrace' entailed.

Camilla had just been passing by the available classes bulletin board on her way to her dorm when the bold letters on a certain flier caught her attention

She stops and reads the flier only to frown shortly after "A disgrace...? What did I do...?" she says with a bit of a pout as her tail swayed slightly in distress being called a disgrace especially to one of her monetary stature was never a good thing and to be called it so unfoundedly was almost a insult

It took her a few seconds to realize it wasn't just a general insult to the student body but a actual class when she did realize this she puffs out her cheeks a bit and begins marching to where the class would be held fortunately the class seemed it would be happening right that day and although she'd be forgoing lunch this Dormouse Monster ghoul was determined to prove she wasn't a "Disgrace" as this teacher claimed her to be never mind she never took part in said teacher's lounge break in or even heard of it but one can't go around claiming such things without ruffling a few feathers or in Camilla's case rubbing her fur the wrong way

And so there she arrived at the portal all full of vim and vigor ready to prove herself only to find other students simply milling about she blinks a few times then looks curiously at the portal

Lusine was nervous about her first ever class. She wasn't sure why the entire school was being declared a disgrace, or who was calling them that, but she was determined to go to class and learn something.

She fluttered shyly up to where the class was gathering a little before 12, scanning the faces of the various ghouls and boils milling around. It looked like this was a popular class. She shrunk back, she didn't know anyone there. What if this went badly? What if she embarrassed herself in front of all these creeple? Oh no, maybe this was a bad idea after all, but she was already here.

Quark stared, perplexed, at the flyer. He didn't feel terribly disgraceful. In the end, getting to go on a field trip helped tip the balance in favor of curiosity. A little before noon, he strolled over to join the gathering crowd by the portal.

"So, why are we disgraces, exactly?" he wondered in a blithe undertone. A beat later, he added, even lower, "Um, not knowing why isn't the reason why, right?"

Carlos never read the signs. Instead he saw a gathering of creeple and drifted closer. What manner of rabbit hole was that? Was it a portal? Carlos drifted a little closer in interest, eyes wide as he checked it out a bit. The Cheshire cat had no idea what was going on, he really didn't like school or classes but he seemed to be hanging out near this one. Would they go on an adventure? Would there be tea? The manor through the portal looked like it might have tea.

And tea was good enough for him.
