Personality:
Tyrese is an introvert and always has been, taking the struggles of his life and internalizing their cause as personal faults. The best word to define Tyrese is empath, a person who is highly sensitive (said to be too sensitive at times), loving, and supportive. While his temper will forever be his biggest weakness, he tends to feel things to the extreme and act on his emotions rather than intellectualize the situation. He is empathetic to other's emotions and has a habit of absorbing that same energy, making him easy to overstimulate in crowded places.
Bio: Ty was born to a single mother who loved to complain about how men were low down scum, his father being the prime example of this. Most of her time was spent working several jobs to keep him sustained, and she threw this in his face as often as she told him he would be no better than his father. There were times when she spoiled him and was the nicest woman in the world, showering him with love and affection, just to fly into a rage over the tiniest things. Her bipolar disorder often drove her own child into isolation.
Ty wasn't exactly easy to raise, besides his inability to sit still for the whole school day, he was always meddling in things he shouldn't be. He was in near constant altercations with the other children in his neighborhood as well as in school; they mistook his quiet and reserved ways for being arrogant, and given his size, tried to prove themselves by picking fights. Though Ty never liked to fight, he wouldn't let himself be ridiculed and couldn't stop himself from anything poised as a challenge; as a result he was sent to the principal at least once a week before finding a friend in the counselor. She was the one to recommend sports, and when those didn't work, the Boy Scouts to replace time usually spent running into trouble.
Two weeks after his fourteenth birthday, he suddenly came down with a high fever and complained of severe discomfort. His mother kept him out of school for the day and went to work while he remained at home; upon returning home that night, she found a wolf in the house rather than her son. Becoming terrified when it tried to approach her, she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed it several times in presumed self defense before running to save her son. She found his room vacated, filled only with the clothes he'd been wearing when she left, now shredded and scattered about the room. She prepared to flee...before seeing the unconscious wolf change into Tyrese. Ty was hospitalized for multiple stab wound trauma that punctured his lungs, broke several ribs, and damaged his vocal cords. To make matters worse, he was left a letter from his mother that officially surrendered him to social services.
After several months within a state assigned home, two uncles from his father's side of the family mysteriously appeared and took him in. His uncles were wolf shifters who were able to teach him who he was and introduce him into a pack where he could fit that defined sense of self among others. He was doing better than ever, and when starting high school two years later, his uncles recommended Lahokoe, a supposedly cursed school rumored to be capable of matching two soul mates together. Another one of his uncles that was employed there helped him get by, something much needed as Ty still frequently found his way into trouble. The school introduced the untrusting wolf to the person who became his lover during his junior year: Lillian Hall. Although their relationship was more of a secret than anything, especially since they weren't soulmates by the school's standards, they spent their time together in a near perfect world. While he had come to see her as his first love, they broke up nine months later in such a way that caused him to abandon the little trust in women (and people in general) he'd gained since first attending Koizora. While he was back at square one and in emotional disfunction over their separation, he unexpectedly met and switched bodies with his soul mate, a girl named Isabella Mirza. He never saw her again after that same day, and went on to discarded any further pursuit of romantic relationships.
During his senior year Tyrese had a book published in his name and received a full ride scholarship to his school of choice. He revisited the woman he had once loved for a one night stand and found himself discussing the possibly getting back together. He'd promised her another chance when three days before his graduation he received a phone call informing him his mother had just days to live after her involvement in a fatal car accident. Leaving for home immediately, he abandoned school without a word to anyone and went home to spend his last days with his mother. When his mother slipped into a coma and was consequently taken off of life support two weeks later, Ty was faced with his own personal demons born from 18 years of bitterness towards his maternal figure. He disconnected from friends and family alike, using his writing to cope with a life now teetering between depression and unprovoked fits of rage. It took him two years to get himself together, a time in which he went to therapy and wrote a three book mini series. These books made the best selling list, and Ty accepted the offer to allow the books to be made into a movie. His other publications were also popular, one in particular centering around a human boy who met his wife in high school and went on many adventures with a series of friends who all had magical abilities. He was slowly, but steadily, getting back on his feet.
He went to college for three years and graduated with a degree, staying financially prosperous through his books and public appearances. With plenty of money saved up, he moved to a beach side city off the coast of California where he could live life more comfortably and out of the public eye. He had been there several months, slowly repairing the burned bridges left over from high school, when his life suddenly took another turn. While meeting up with his oldest and closest high school friend Finn Teagan, he ran into his ex- Lillian Hall, and discovered she had been with child in the days after he left to see his mother. Without even knowing what he'd been doing, he had left his daughter, Sela Hall, and his ex girlfriend without a male figure in their lives for three years. Tyrese, needless to say, had more than enough anger and hurt to to make amends for. He had now to do right by Lillian and thrust himself into fatherhood: the latter was rocky at first, but it didn't take the man long to bond with his daughter. As for his ex, he knew the situation with his mother had only been an interruption for the life he wanted and the love he believed could flourish between them now that her brother eased out of her relationships. They made some bad decisions within just a few days, but in that short time, he made clear to her his intent to fix everything he'd did wrong and to make her his wife as soon as she was ready.
He apologized repeatedly and made every promise to make them happy, and in his persistence, she agreed to give him another chance. He was in full gear when this happened, although not even a month had passed, and was doing his best to balance out his new life. He was named the godfather to Finn's and his wife Aubrey's child, opened a college fund for Sela, and began the preparations to start his own business. Having fallen distant from Finn after learning the athlete knew about his daughter and never told him, he instead began to grow close to Aubrey. In those short weeks, it was she, with her knowledge of running a business, who helped him come closer to opening his first bed and breakfast.
Three weeks into his and Lillian's new relationship, he was told she'd slept with another man. It had never occurred to the author that he could be betrayed in such a way, both devastated and enraged at himself for trusting her at all when their first relationship had ended because of her shortcomings as well. His world shattered all over again as Lillian not only put the pregnant Aubrey into the hospital, but gave Sela to him before leaving town the morning after telling him of her infidelity. He struggled to uphold his still all too new and inexperienced parental duties, support Aubrey as her own husband began to neglect his marriage, and keep himself lucid enough to function and open his business. He spiraled into alcoholism, eating disorders, indiscriminate sexual encounters, and depression- topping it off with a confused and misguided new romantic obsession with Aubrey- all under the facade he held for his daughter, who was spiraling on her own outside of his desperate attempts to keep it all together. Even when Lillian returned three weeks later, things only continued to get worse. He learned Lillian had gotten pregnant again, but had lost their second child through alcoholism, which she'd taken up after cheating on him a week into their new relationship. He opened his business, but was hit by a drunk driver that left him with a fractured leg and a concussion. His now ex brought his daughter -and consequently him as well- around the man she'd cheated on him with- and finally, Aubrey was kidnapped and held hostage for several days, leaving Tyrese and his uncle Hakem, to be the ones that found her and the other missing women.
In three shorts months, it was like his life was torn to pieces. However, things began to get better with Lillian moving to New York for her career and Aubrey pulling through her depression. He watched over his new love with a keen eye and quiet whispers of endearment, watching as new years came about and she cut the final strings ensnaring her heart to her husband. He, on the other hand, was afraid he'd hearded her emotions with his possessiveness, forcing himself to confront his own shattered state of mind and approach the brunette with the proposal they part ways. The notion seemed too punishing for them both, and confessions of their true feelings -their love- emerged in its place. The wolf couldn't leave the woman now, comprising at least for the time being to stay with her, though now they'd engage in a chaste relationship. They would remain unofficial in name, particularly for his own conscience, until her marriage was legally resolved.
