[PRP] Merry Christmas! [Kafun/Cascade]

Cascade laid nestled into her mate, keeping herself warm in a tight ball. Her tail thumped against the ground occasionally, mostly out of excitement. Even in her dream she couldn't control her joy. It was Christmas, or would be when her eyes opened! Christmas. Giving Day. Merry Day. Whatever most foxes called it, it was here, and she was ready. She already had stashed a present for Kafun away in the forest and had prepared a berry meal she hoped he'd like. It would be perfect!

The sound of something rattling awoke her from her peaceful dream, head snapping up and body tensing. She didn't rouse her mate, not yet. Instead, the smaller vixen snuck from his side, padding to the base of their den to peek out. Nothing. Good. She wasn't sure how they'd handle a bear.... they hadn't been eating that well this winter. It was rough, but they'd manage, she was sure.

She was about to turn back into her den when her paw hit against something metal. She froze, blue eyes peering down and widening at the sight before her. Three perfect..... bcrs?! She immediately scooped them up, rushing to her mate and not so delicately pouncing on him.

"Wake up! Wake up! It's Christmas! Look! Kafun!" He could sleep another time! Yes, it was dark, but she held on her tail the one present they'd be hoping for for years, even back when they were younger. She pulled on one of his ears before leaping off him, beginning to examine the children with a wagging tail.

Kafun was tucked up in his den with his mate. His body closest to the entrance so that if anything came they would have to get through him first. He was in a well deserved peaceful sleep. After all he finally had the girl of his dreams as his mate and by his side. How could he not sleep well?

It was winter time and Christmas time. This Christmas was going to be a real joyess time for him everything in his life was perfect... well till his mate decided to jump on him and pull his ear. He let out an "ooomph" as she did so and shook his head since his ear had been pulled. He blinked at her a couple times and glanced at his mate.

"Hmm what is it love?" he asked as he slowly stood up in their den slightly still trying to wake up. She was hovering around three small objects and looked like light was going to burst out of her because she was so happy... then it hit him they had kids. "Are...are those what I think they are?"

Cascade giggled at her mate's response, spinning in excitement. "Yes!" She yelped, bumping her nose against his cheek. He was absolutely right – they were kids! Or, at least she hoped that's what he thought they were. Twirling one more time, the vixen lifted up her bcrs with her tail, tucking the three babies against her stomach.

"Kafun, we're parents. These are babies. We finally did it. We fina–" She wasn't able to finish her sentence, instead bursting into frantic tears as the realization hit her. Pure happiness rushed through the vixen, mixed with relief. She had wanted children for so long, and now here they were, on one of the most magical days ever. She couldn't believe her luck, or that finally she could hold babies, and with the man she loved!

Kafun let out a purr like growl in happiness. They had did it. They had children finally. He nuzzled her happily and laid down with his face facing her stomach as she pulled the children closer to it.

"We are going to be wonderful parents and our children are going to be amazing dear. We did good," he told her happily as he licked the tears from her cheek. He nudge the BCR's with his nose gently still not believing that they were real.

She laughed between sobs as he nuzzled her, exposing the bcr's further once he moved towards them. It took a few minutes to calm down, but eventually the tears stopped and soft 'hics' left her here and there. Flicking her gaze and attention down to her bcr's, the vixen examined them, letting loose a soft gasp. What would they look like? Their bcr's were already beautiful, and seeing Kafun's and her own colors mesh so well caused her heart to skip. They really were theirs.

"A-A girl." She stammered, nudging the Kafun-looking bcr towards her mate.

"And these two are the boys." Where had she learned how to tell the two apart? Well, when you're as old as Cascade and always wanted kids you pick up some tips and tricks. Especially when you have friends all over!

Kafun was practically purring... correction he was purring in happiness and pride. He had three adorable looking BCR's and a beautiful happy mate. Everything in the world was perfect and no one could tell him other wise.

He looked over the bcr that was colored like him and nodded his head in agreement. "Your right it is a little girl and she is gonna look just like me." He nuzzled his baby girl before showing his boys some love as well.

He would never let his kids think he loved one more then the other because he loved them all equally and they were the most precious things in his life. "This one is an excellent blend of us and our last boy has your beautiful coloring my love,"[/b] He told her softly as he looked them over closer.

Cascade swung her tail as he focused on their children, body quivering in excitement. She couldn't quite put how she felt in words, and she wasn't sure there were words for her emotions. How long had she wanted kids? How many times had the world denied her them, even when she was certain she was ready? She had prayed and anticipated, and yet the deities never saw her fit. Until now, on Christmas day. Now her present for Kafun seemed forgotten. These BCRs were more then enough, and better then anything else she could have prepared.

"I– are we ready for kids?" She suddenly blurted, her eyes widening in alarm at her own statement. Of course she had doubts. She had never had children – not even adopted children! She was older then most mothers, even! She was far past the time it was expected to have children. What if she was too old? What if she wasn't good enough, or she lost the motherly instincts? Biting back frightened tears, Cascade pulled close her daughter, focusing intently on her colors.

Kafun’s head jerked up and out of his own thoughts about the kids and Cascades cry of fear. Her mind was racing far ahead of his. That much was obvious. His mind was still in a blissful shock of even having kids where hers was ahead and contemplating how to raise them it seemed. He let out a loving chuckle before leaning a crossed and nuzzling her. “My love, my love, my love. Why do you think we aren’t ready for kids. We are both plenty old enough to have them and the deities wouldn’t have blessed us with such a gift if they thought we weren’t ready. We are all after all their children and they care deeply for us.” He informed her lovingly.
