From the kitchen, Zofie watched poor Aloiki curl up on the couch holding tightingly to the angel stuffed animal Kurt had given him. Halloween trick or treating had proved a great distraction for the children. However, the longer took for Kurt to get back, the harder the child had taken it.
He stopped crying for Kurt a few months ago, in stead the child was growing silent and more reserved. Even trips out to see the alpaca didn't seem to have the same affect. She and Rista did the best they could, but they weren't the boy's father.
Frowning again, The angel looked to her daughter, "Corazon, try go and play with your cousin." The look Corazon gave her was enough to make even the patient hosts sigh. However, the child did as she was told and went to sit beside the heartsick sprite.

She sensed the sadness.
The plushie had been clutched for many a night, tight by Aloiki's side as the sprite struggled with the idea that his father might be gone. It stayed there, like a dependable companion, always willing to accept both the hugs and tears of the small child. In some ways, the plushie could act as a surrogate for a parent--always ready to comfort.
In other ways, it could be a friend. It could play games with Aloiki, perhaps, if Aloiki were open to it. Since the young boy spent a lot of his time moping, though, there was not a whole lot of playing.
The small fairy that sat on the plushie's shoulder frowned. Watching her friend was sad. She didn't like the look on Aloiki's face, didn't like the way his cousins struggled to try and keep him happy. She wished she could do something for him...
And she thought she might know just the thing.
EvilSilverDragon Aloiki and Corazon are free to notice the fairy if they want! Alternatively, they can keep interacting and not notice her, too. XD

Morosely, Aloiki saw his cousin approach but choose to keep where he was, holding tightly to Alfalfa. Sniffling he buried his head against the well worn stuffed angel. Whining his pain into this confident, the little boy tried to ignore his cousin.
Corazon didn't have much patients for the boy, she just couldn't understand why the went inward with his behavior. What was worse, she was feeling frustrated by her own lack of ability to pull him out of it. After all, Aloiki wasn't abandoned, he had family that loved him. Sure she missed Uncle Kurt too but really!
Sighing, the teen picked up the spirit, " Come on, Al, lets go see the alpaca." In doing so, she caused the little boy to let go of the stuffed angel.
In loosing hold of Alfalfa, Aloiki lost it himself. Screaming, he flailed in Corazon's arms reaching for the doll. He almost got himself dropped for the trouble but he refused to be separated from the last thing his daddy gave him.
Corazon tensed up and had to struggle to keep the sprite in her arms. Wings standing on end, she was expecting to hear her mother yelling any moment now for Aloiki's little fit. "For the love of the Guardians.. Aloiki stop it!" Raising her own voice to the boy, she reached about the end of the little rope she had left.
To appease the child, she reached down and grabbed the angel by the halo and gave it to the child she was barely keeping hold of.
Aloiki grabbed on to Alfalfa as soon as it was within reach, his eyes red and watering. Whimpering again he clung to the doll as the presents started to tantrum. He noticed the little fairy, he looked at her and offered the closet thing he had to a smile in a long time to her. Something that was missed by the moody teen holding him at the moment.

The small fairy frowned. Didn't Corazon know by now? Aloiki did not want to go see the alpaca, at least without company. They reminded him of bad things. They made him sad. The little fairy didn't like seeing him sad.
But then, Corazon made it worse, and the small fairy gasped as Aloiki was removed from the plushie. With the plushie, she fell, laying on top of the plushie as she laid there and watched the poor abandoned sprite flail and cry for her. The fairy reached back out, though she knew she was unnoticed, not wanting to leave the poor young boy alone --
There was considerable relief when she was picked up again, and she adjusted herself back onto the plushie's shoulder, watching the two of them.
Her eyes widened a bit. Oh! She was spotted!
Then, she cleared her throat, and smiled back.
"She won't separate you from this again, I promise!"
