Unlike a lot of his peers, Seiji had taken to voluntarily heading into the haunted house. He was stronger now, stronger than the hunters he had run into as of late. It made him bold, fueled by the logic that he could somehow get even with the foul creatures for all the pain and damage they'd caused throughout the years if he could just crack enough skulls.
It wasn't true. Logically he knew that, but it was still fun tormenting the humans.
Or perhaps it was the addition of a voice at the back of his head, egging him on. It begged for an attack, for violence. He grinned as he strode down a hall, fingertips gliding along the peeling wallpaper that lined the wall.

The claws came out of nowhere, shrieking against the side of the wall. Chance twisted around, barely able to jump out of the way, the tail end of his bow slamming into the hardwood floor and leaving behind a long scrape as he stumbled back.
"Well, hello," he said lightly, flipping a few stray curls out of his eyes and raising his eyebrows at the creature. "You're pretty cool looking, aren't you?"
Chance had expected to feel the sharp sting of sharp claws against his stomach or arm - but instead he saw the creature looking down at himself with a look of surprise and anger.
{ be careful } Asher warned, as Chance drew an arrow; he tried to fire it off, but the tip of it scratched his forearm unpleasantly, making him blink in mild confusion. His eyes moved back to the creature.
"Well, this certainly wasn't what I expected," Chance said lightly. "Is this your doing?"

It was the second time Seiji had received a compliment from a hunter, and he didn't seem anymore grateful for it this time around as he had last time. Frowning, lip curling up on one side, he glared down at the hunter as he drew back on his bow string, but the arrow never reached him. His brows rose, surprised, before that question had dark eyes narrowing.
"No." Though that meant it wasn't the hunter's doing either. Probably. Seiji wasn't convinced they weren't all full of tricks and trouble, but this one at least seemed just as baffled.
Maybe it was temporary. Seiji took a step forward, slashing outward with wicked claws, and once again he hissed as pain lite along his skin. "What in Jack's name..." He growled it under his breath, temper rising.

He wasn't quite sure what was happening; Chance had strung the arrow, and he'd tried to fire it like he normally did - except instead of shooting outwards, it had shot backwards, snapping against his arm painfully. It wasn't so much a lack of ability as it was something else entirely, and he couldn't quite understand what that was.
Chance made a tsk-ing noise.
"Shame," he said, with a look at the creature. "That would be a pretty cool ability. But if you're not doing that, then I'm confused as hell as to what is doing it."
His eyes narrowed slightly, following the line of the claws.
"What are you, exactly?"
