Reference Image(s): Here is the original image that sparked this concept: Orig. It's got a lovely metallic peach base with curled, dark tribal-like markings. Upon further thought I have also decided that these images go well with the idea I've got: Light-on-dark. It's too heavy to be a main ref; he's not totally covered in markings. Graceful and elegant This just has curls and dots. I like it for some reason... More organic and free-flowing. Color palette Exact color match is not important; this is just an idea of the sort of colors I have in mind. Earthy / natural colors, but colors that might be a little harder to find in nature unless you were searching for them or lived at the beach. The middle three colors will be for his body and scales and mane. The charcoal color is for his markings. The tan on the very right is for use as accent if needed, and for any lighter marks that appear on/in his otherwise-dark markings. I also love all the tribal work you've got up in your examples so I trust your tribal judgement. :3 I don't expect a humongous amount of detail (henna -like is too much for this guy).
