What was that smell?

It'd been there for a few days now, hadn't it?

Oh well.

Not his problem.

It'd probably go away anyway.

It sure has been quiet lately, too.

He wondered where Hel went.  

[Enoh Love]

On his way to the bathroom, he notices the pile of mail in front of his door. How on earth could one get so much mail in one day?

He checked the pile first, picking it up and thumbing through it, tossing several daily newspapers and letters from home onto the overflowing table. A letter in Hel's obnoxiously messy writing is discovered, and tossed to the end of his bed before returning to his initial quest towards the bathroom.

Pizza is ordered again; a large, so he didn't have to think about it for a few days. He takes two slices for himself and opens the fridge - there isn't room for another box.

With a heavy and long suffering sigh he gets out a garbage bad and takes two of the boxes out; the new one goes in, the bag ends up on the floor.

He goes back to his bed.

He's run out of clean dishes...but it's okay, there's paper towel here. It'll do.

He's watched everything on Webflix, even the childish TV shows.

He's God-Creator level on every job class in Fantastic Unlife.

He's on his third playthrough of Legend of Majora - Zelda's Quest.

His minipets annoy him more than ever. Nina howls at him every time he passes her, and once she tried to entice him to play by biting his feet.

It didn't work.

Clean towels and clothes are a thing of the past - he couldn't find a clean pair of socks anywhere. The clothes that are too stained to wear end up in a pile in the corner.

He has every intention of washing them when he gets around to it.

That smell persists. It's getting annoying, because he can't figure out where it's coming from - not that he actually ever tried to look for its source.

His black-out curtains block out the daylight a little too well. He's not sure what time it is, and he can't find his phone to check.

It doesn't matter anyway. He just rolls over and falls asleep.

For the first time in months, he stops and surveys his dorm. Categorizes the messes and the work that needs to be done. It disgusts him to see how messy it was; he had never been a completely tidy man, but he always had some form of order.

Now there was mouldy dishes in the sink, and opened garbage bags on the ground.

But it's late, and he's tired.

He decides to clean it up tomorrow.

The next day, he finally beats that annoyingly difficult boss at the end of Forever Fantasy 23.

He swells with pride.

His room is forgotten.

He stares up at the ceiling, unable to sleep.

He'd just gotten a text from Hel.

Jack, does he ever miss her.

He opens a pop - one that came with his recent order of sushi - and looks at the clock. It's 1am.

He drinks it anyway; it'd be a shame to let it go to waste.

His Aunt calls to check up on him. He assures her that everything's fine, and cuts her off before she could ask about school. Not a single part of his excuse was true, but it got her off his case. He hangs up the phone, and stares at his wall until his stomach growls.

God, is he bored.

There's nothing to do.
