He hadn't even noticed the note being shoved into his pocket till some time later. How it got there, he hadn't a clue. Unfortunately somewhere in the duration of it being in his pocket, (a place he never out anything paper ever for reasons) it had gotten scorched.

Upon pulling it out, all he could read was something along the lines of forbidden forest. Some part of the flame demon said he should not follow unknown notes from unknown people. But, another part was curious. The writing was not his own and he wondered who or what got close enough to him to actually shove it in. The little danger alarm was going off, but he ignored it. Or rather Curiosity overpowered it.

Besides, he had been overworked between school and his trips back home to do... more work. How did his mom always manage to find something to occupy every square inch of his time anyways? But now was one of those rare moments when he wasn't actively doing something.

So he followed the note to the forbidden forest, looking around and wondering just who called him out here.

Andrew would be standing alone for several minutes before anything at all happened. Then -

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?"

The voice seemed to come from up above; and if Andrew looked, he would see a faint flash of neon green, followed by a Cheshire-cat like smirk before it disappeared again into nothingness.

Andrew paced impatiently about part of the woods, when suddenly a voice, appeared. And there was a dodging green glow about the trees.

"Oh come on seriously?" Everything dropped, wings, shoulders, tail, lips into a frown.

"What do you want? And come out here." his tail burned a little brighter, as he tried to get a good look at the glow. His eyes squinted as he positively grumped. Was this even worth his time?

Laughter sounded around the demon, echoing in one direction and then another, so that it gave the impression of being all over, rather than contained in a small spot.

"Tsk tsk," the voice said, sounding amused. "So rude to your elders."

And then he appeared, sitting cross-legged on a branch a few feet above Andrew's head. He was wearing a lime green shirt over black pants, gray hair sticking straight up like he'd just run his fingers through it, a mischievous smile twitching at the corners of his lips.

"Andrew, right?" said the stranger, winking in the demon's direction. "You can call me Mischief."

Well Mischief looked a lot more like Trouble. Andrew was not impressed. Not impressed at all. He leveled a grumpy stare at him.

"Yeah, that's what they call me. Did you need something?" he tried to be slightly more polite, but there was nothing polite in his grumpy voice. Was this a teacher? He didn't remember him... Wait no he had seen that eye patch around somewhere, he just couldn't place where. Must be a janitor.

He swung his legs over the side of the branch and let them dangle, kicking back and forth.

"No particular reason," said Mischief airily. "Just thought we could have a bit of fun, after all."

He smiled winningly at Andrew.

"Fun?" he perked. What would they be doing? Treasure hunting? Was there treasure?

"What kind of fun?"

The grin widened. Mischief leapt nimbly down from the tree, landing neatly down beside Andrew. He strolled around, hands tucked against the small of his back, in a wide circle before turning to look at the demon.

"The fighting kind of fun."

"That sounds like the oppose of fun." either way, Andrew put his hands up, letting them catch fire. He didn't want to get hit by this guy did he really plan to fight? Something on fire?

oops. I tried to convert to arena dice for some reason. Oh well, defend!

"Booooooo," said Mischief, waving a hand. "It's always fun. Just think of it this way, you get to fight with me, a delightful Trick or Treater, willing to take you under their wing and make sure you don't trip over your little toesies."

He darted forward, quite suddenly, and slammed a foot into Andrew's legs, keys jangling at his waist.

"Trick or.." Oh s**t, he was not ready, very much not ready for that! The attack sent him down to his knees and he flapped his wings in response. Scorch marks were left in the ground where his hands landed and he turned shooting of a volley of fireballs where the ToT was... and wasn't any more it seemed. "Damn it! Hold still."

Laughter echoed around Andrew.

"Tsky tsky, missy missy!"

He prodded the demon's arm.

Andrew would not just lay around in the dirt. He refused. he jerked away from the arm tap. (if you could call it that.) and then turned and punched with a fist full of fire. "Stop mocking me!" his tail burned with agitation and he tried to spread his wings and look just a little more intimidating. Pretty hard to do when he was already hurting.

The poltergeist gave a squawk and fell backwards, tumbling in midair before righting himself. He brushed himself off, made sure that his clothing wasn't burned, and turned to Andrew with a wide grin that stretched catlike across his face.

"Kitten's got clawwws," said Mischief, with a mock shudder, readjusting his eyepatch. "I'm glad to see you're not just a basket of wet logs."

Andrew searched around looking for something to throw at the jerk. Preferably a big stick but he found nothing. He was getting pretty worked up, tail blazing.
